49- The Escape

Nora closed back the door with a polite smile, but I could see worry lines on her face. The poor girl wasn’t expecting anyone in the powder room.

“Let’s go to my room. That’s the safest place for the time being.” She said while walking ahead of me. My mind was still on Lola.

The lack of time didn’t let me think about what happened to her. What had my father done to her that even my siblings seemed quite traumatized?

“Make yourself comfortable,” Nora's room was more like a hotel suite with every luxury in that place. She went to her fridge to grab some beer cans and tossed one to me.

I caught it in mid-air and wrapped my fingers around the cold tin to get some comfort. Nora took a chug from her can and placed it on the coffee table.

“Sit down, Rayna. We need to change our plan,” wiping her mouth roughly with the back of her hand instead of a napkin made her seem more like a kickass alpha than a soon-to-be queen.

“Change of plan? What do you mean?” I placed my fists under my chin,
