124. A Risky Move.

Aurelia’s POV

My eyes fluttered open to the sound of voices surrounding me and I found Rune staring down at me with a stern look. His brows were narrowed and his icy blue eyes were so cold that he made my skin crawl. But just then, he flashed me a smile that evaded every bit of anxiety I’d felt.

“She’s awake,” he announced to the people in the room.

The next face I saw was Asher’s. He had a warm smile as he touched my cheeks, his green eyes reminding me of what life had to offer.

“Mommy. Thank the stars. I grew worried,” he said softly with the smile still on his face.

My heart lurched at the thought of leaving Asher alone even for a second. It made me sad.

“I’m sorry. I just woke this morning with a headache and I didn’t know it would become that severe,” I said, trying my best to sit up but my whole body ached as I tried.
