Aurelia’s POV

THREE DAYS. THREE FUCKING DAYS. That’s how long it had taken me to get here. After going through an excruciating last few days, I was greeted by destruction. My pack was in flames. It’s been how many years since Kael saved me from certain death? I couldn’t tell. But coming home and seeing my pack in the same situation left me enraged.

I shut my eyes trying to push away the screams and cries for help, but I couldn’t. I hated seeing my pack this way. My wolf stirred inside, seeking control. But I didn’t let her. Instead, I felt a strange power surge within me like I was bolstered with primordial strength.

The wave of sadness I felt on my way here was completely submerged by the rage my wolf and I felt.

“Someone help me!” I heard a lady scream.

My eyes searched for the direction from which the voice came. It was a burning house. I dashed towards it in a flash. The front door had been blown off by the heat of the flames. There were cries from a little girl coming from inside.

I rushed in but was greeted by a searing heat wave. I shielded my eyes with my arms, trying my best to look through the fire. The air was thick with smoke making it difficult to breathe. I scanned the fire tediously and found a little girl trying to pull out her mom whose body was buried under a pile of rubble.

My heart ached as I watched her struggle with tears in her eyes. I ran through the fire and got to the girl who was struggling to pull her mother.

“Let me help with that,” I said.

The little one turned to me in surprise, her cheeks glittering with tears. She moved away and I summoned my wolf’s strength pulling her mom out of the rubble. Her mother seemed unconscious as I held her on my shoulder. I turned to the little girl giving her my hand.

She stared at it in shock.

“Let’s get you out of here,” I urged.

She nodded and grabbed my hand. I pulled them out of the burning house just in time before it collapsed. When they were outside, her mother coughed and opened her eyes slowly. The little girl rushed to her mother and hugged her.

“Mommy!” She yelled as she held onto her mother. I smiled as I watched her hug her mother. Her mother hugged her warmly before looking up at me.

“Thank you,” she whispered.

I nodded and rushed away. They were shadows moving through the darkness causing havoc. It was hard to track them but I managed to capture one of them. I pinned him to the ground and grabbed his collar.

“Who sent you?” I ordered.

The man whimpered but didn’t speak. I clutched his throat, squeezing it gently and the man struggled to breathe.

“You are going to tell your men to back off,” I ordered.

The man scoffed.

“You think you can stop us?” He taunted. “It’s already done.”

I furrowed my brows in confusion before looking around me. The men in the shadows had fled, leaving the pack a total mess. I watched in horror as buildings crashed down in flames, leaving me in total shock.

In that moment, the man managed to wiggle from my grip, escaping into the shadows. I clenched my jaws and slammed the floor in fury.

I was too late. The damage had been done and my people were suffering. There was only one thing I could do, gather as many people to safety as I could.

“Everybody this way!” A voice yelled through the chaos.

I looked up and saw a man leading people towards a safe zone. There was still part of the pack that hadn’t been caught in flames. That was a relief.

At that same moment, I heard a scream a few seconds before a house crashed into the fire. I rushed towards the scene in a flash, but the fire was too great. My eyes felt like they were melting when I tried to stare into it. This was bigger than me.

“Why are you just standing there?” A voice asked behind me. “Let’s get these people to safety.”

I turned around to a man with silver hair and gorgeous icy blue eyes staring at me. His cheeks were smeared with dirt and ash from the fire and he looked exhausted. And yet, none of that took away how gorgeous he looked.

“Hello?” He asked, snapping his fingers at me.

I blinked hard returning to reality. I shook my head, brushing off my intrusive thoughts.

“So sorry,” I said, turning back to the fire. “The fire is too hot.”

The man shook his head in disappointment right before jumping into the fire himself. I watched in horror as he maneuvered through the smoke and heat while I stood frozen to the spot.

I was a primordial wolf and had been blessed with strength and power. But yet, I couldn’t do anything. It was frustrating to watch this stranger rush into the fire without a second thought while I stood here doing nothing.

I touched my stomach. This was one of the reasons I couldn’t rush in. I couldn't afford to lose the baby. I’d been reckless when saving that mother and her child. But now, someone else needed help, but fear wouldn’t let me move.

A few minutes passed and I was starting to get worried that he had been caught by the fire. But then, I saw him pull out of the fire with the little boy in his hands. He rushed out of the house successfully with the boy.

I rushed towards him as he laid the boy down on the ground. The boy looked unconscious as he lay still. There were third-degree burns on his knees and cheeks. He wouldn’t make it without immediate help.

The man also had burn degrees on his hands, but that didn’t faze him. His focus was on the boy.

“He’s not going to make it,” he said, touching the boy’s hair.

I clenched my jaws and hurried to the boy. I placed my hand on his forehead and shut my eyes. Immediately, I felt a surge of energy rushing through my veins and heading for my fingertips. I opened my eyes and watched the burns on his skin disappear slowly, covered by his flesh.

The man looked up at me in shock. Just then, he turned to the house.

“His mother is still in there!” He yelled.

I nodded. “I’ll get her, you stay.”

I rushed towards the house, summoning courage. Just as I reached the door, the house exploded and the fire consumed me.

“No!” I heard the man yell.

But then, I stepped out of the fire, my clothes torched by the flames. I stared at myself in shock. Not a single scar.

And then, I looked at the man who stared back at me, his icy blue eyes lit in shock.

“Who are you?”

Kael’s POV“You look like shit,” Ethan said as he stepped into my study. It was late at night, and I still couldn’t get some sleep. I couldn’t keep my mind off Asher and Aurelia. They were right there waiting for me to take them back. Or at least that was what I thought. Aurelia wouldn’t forgive me easily for what I’d done. I didn’t expect her to. It had been a mistake. A mistake that I couldn’t take back. Throughout dinner, I was lost in my thoughts and even after that as I put Eliana to sleep, she could tell that something was bugging me. I didn’t expect seeing Aurelia once again to hurt this much. But it did. I sighed as Ethan walked towards my desk. I was seated with a bottle of bourbon before me. Ethan had a smirk on and I couldn’t tell if he was mocking me. “Why would you call me so late to your study?” He asked, taking a seat before the desk. I didn’t answer him. Instead, I reached into one of the drawers and pulled out another glass for him. Ethan seemed appreciative as

  • Rejected by my Alpha, Loved by my Beta   7. Cracks in an Alpha’s Armor.

Aurelia’s POVA sense of relief washed over me as Kael’s Cadillac drove out of sight. We were safe for now. I knew that Kael wasn’t going to stop. Now that he knew of Asher’s existence he was going to keep coming until he finally got what he wanted—him. My nightmare had come to life. And I was scared. Not just for me and my son, but for my pack as well. Kael could be ruthless when pushed over the edge. Rune turned around and walked back into the house without saying a word. Today I’d seen a different side of him. And it made me wonder, how many sides of Rune has he hidden from me? He’d stepped in when Kael got closer and had called himself my fiancé. That had been the biggest surprise. He was ready to do anything to protect me. I was too afraid to speak or stand up against Kael. I was a fool, an Alpha that still felt threatened by her past. I’d always said that the past wouldn’t affect me any longer, but it’d just been a facade and a stupid excuse to bury them deep instead of helpin

  • Rejected by my Alpha, Loved by my Beta   6. An Unpleasant Surprise.

Kael’s POV Maybe this was karma for what’d done. There was no question that I deserved it. But how it all played out was hysterical, and I would laugh to myself if the air surrounding all of us weren’t buzzing with sparks of intensity. The shocked look on Aurelia’s face and the stony cold look from those icy blue eyes of the man standing before her now. He looked like he was about to bite my limbs off. “Hello, Aurelia,” I greeted softly. Aurelia was still frozen in shock. How long has it been? Five years? Even though it’d been that long, it didn’t look like she’d changed a bit. Her long auburn hair looked quite a mess but those silver eyes still sparkled the way I remembered. Her bronze skin was lubricated with sweat making it shine in the afternoon sun. I gulped hard as I stared at her. “Who are you?” She finally found the courage to ask. “What are you doing here?” Her brows furrowed after that. Her question left me confused. Was five years too long for her to forget about me?

  • Rejected by my Alpha, Loved by my Beta   5. Trouble in Paradise.

Aurelia’s POVFive years later. The late afternoon sun stood high as I arrived back at the pack. I was drenched in sweat and dirt with the feeling of exhaustion crawling on my skin. I’d gone for a weekly hunt with a bunch of Delta guards who were dragging our game back to the pack. Being Alpha was more tedious than I imagined. There were a lot of pointless traditions you had to keep on and deer hunting was one of them in the Red Moon pack. As I arrived at the royal house, he was waiting for me. My beta, Rune Carver. His short white hair glittered in the sun and so did his icy blue eyes. The sun bathed his pale skin making it white as snow. He was gorgeous, and he knew this. After helping him rescue that little boy, he’d told me I was Alpha material but I never believed him. I’d thought the pack would never let a female rule over them, but I was wrong. They’d all seen how strong I was and so they agreed to give me the position after the last Alpha passed on. On that day, he’d been b

  • Rejected by my Alpha, Loved by my Beta   3. Torched Bonds.

Aurelia’s POV I was cold and lonely, engulfed in darkness with the stench of urine and dirt making me uneasy. I was in the Royal dungeon. Kael had locked me up immediately after Liora had told him everything. I was a fool to think that victory would come that easily. Liora was stronger than I could imagine. She’d pounced on my mistake and found a way to manipulate Kael. She knew everything about me. She knew that I was going to make dinner, and so she poisoned herself. A drastic move just so she could send me away. She despised me so much. The feeling was mutual. Her goal was clear—to humiliate me and take everything away from me. And she’d done just that. The sound of footsteps echoing through the darkness snatched me out of my thoughts. I was sitting on the cold stony floor, hugging my knees as I tried to keep it together. There was no point in losing my mind about something I couldn’t save. I rubbed my stomach. My child. If only Kael knew. “Why?” Kael spoke through the
