Aurelia’s POV

Present day.

The large oak door creaked open as I stepped into the room. It was late, and it was time to put Asher to sleep. He’d caused a lot of trouble recently. Even ignoring my instructions to stay away from Kael. He was young so he wouldn’t understand what was going on. Kael only wanted him to come with him just so he could use him. Here, they were people who genuinely cared about him. That was the reason for him to stay out. At least until we could find a way to get rid of Kael permanently.

Asher stirred on the bed, turning to face me. He looked distraught and overwhelmed with sadness as he lay on the bed. I remembered the look he had given Rune who was injured by Kael. I didn’t want to ask what happened, because reminiscing could only make things worse.

Just like it had done to me tonight. Recalling what happened eleven years ago was the last thing I wanted. But it had gotten into my mind after I realized what was about to happen. Going to that conference was g

Kael’s POVRaheem was drumming his fingers impatiently on his large oak desk as I stepped into his office. I could tell from the expression on his face that something was off. And when I meant something, I meant our plan was in jeopardy. “Okay. What’s wrong?” I asked folding my hands. Raheem was shocked when he saw me. He jerked in fright trying his best to sit upright and conceal his anxiety, but it was already too late. I could tell that he was hiding something from me. Something important. “Alpha!” He called trying to induce exuberance in his tone. Although that was usually his personality, it didn’t work this time. “I wasn’t expecting you.”I furrowed my brows leaning against the doorframe. “You never expect me,” I said. “You want to put a phone before I come here?”“O—Of course not, sir,” he said, shaking his hands, his voice stuttering, betraying his disappointing effort to conceal what was going on. I sighed and stepped into the room before closing the door behind me. Rahe

Rune’s POVIt was a school day, so I knew that he wouldn’t be home. But still, I had to wait just to be sure. Today was the day I was going to break into that safe and find out what Raheem was hiding. The morning sun stood high in the sky, and I sat behind the steering wheel tapping it slowly as I gazed at the house beside me. Raheem’s. An hour had passed since he left for school which was more than enough time for me to get in there and get whatever I wanted. But this wasn’t going to be easy. Raheem must be suspicious now about someone chasing after him. I couldn’t tell if he had told Kael about this, but I knew that it was only a matter of time before they spoke about it. And that would blow my cover. If Aurelia found out as well, she was going to kill me. She’d warned me to stay clear of this. But I couldn’t. As I waited, Kael’s words echoed in my head. It was hard to keep focused. For the last five days, that was the only thing that bugged me. And I was tired of it. There was

Aurelia’s POVNumb. That was how I felt as I stared at their bodies. My heart was throbbing hard against my chest, my pulse pounding in my ears. My chest swelled with sadness and rage. I was confused. Which one could I exert right here? What could I do? My parents were slaughtered like cattle. All of the same what? I was still on my knees with my palms on my face as I struggled to pick myself up. I didn’t care anymore. I wanted it all to end. If there was an enemy out there, this was a perfect opportunity to finish everything. All hope was lost. The door swung open behind me and a figure stepped into the house. I looked up and found a man dressed in black with a silver blade in his hand. He was another attacker. Maybe it was my fate to die tonight. I’d already been saved once. That wouldn’t happen again. This was the perfect opportunity to destroy everything. I was the last piece left. “Come on,” I growled under my breath. This is what you wanted right? Finish me!”The man who wa

Aurelia’s POVEleven years ago. I heard it. The loud boom echoed through the pack. My heart lurched in fright as I searched for answers. But the only thing I found was the sound of people screaming. High in the sky now was a black cloud of smoke coming from the Alpha’s palace. No. This couldn’t be happening. I knew exactly what that meant. We were under attack by an enemy. We weren’t safe anymore. If the Alpha were dead, then we would all join him in a few minutes. No. I couldn't think that. Alpha Cedric was the most powerful man I knew. If there was anybody who would survive that, then it was him. No questions. He was going to be fine. I just knew it. The earth trembled beneath my feet like a herd of rhinoceroses was heading my way. But I knew it wasn’t that. It was the enemy coming in numbers. I had to check up on my parents. They would know what to do. With that, I took off rushing towards the house. The cloud of smoke stood clear in the sky now, and the stinging acrid smell of

  • Rejected by my Alpha, Loved by my Beta   44. Bruises.

Kael’s POVMy body ached in pain as I stepped out of the Cadillac. I was finally home. In what seemed like a perfect long day, there had been some complications. My plan to bring Asher to the Silver Fang pack looked like it was going to succeed, but that stupid Beta had to ruin it in the dying moments.I was almost certain that Asher was coming with me. After realizing that he had a sister, Asher’s interest became genuine. There was no other way I could bring him apart from that. He was lonely even though he had Aurelia with him. The thought of having another sibling—a younger sister—was enough for him to come here. I should feel stupid and dirty for using my daughter, but I didn’t. Her purpose was great. She was going to be the lightning rod for Asher. And that was all that mattered. It wasn’t going to be long now. When we meet next, I'm going to make sure that I seal the deal. He was going to come with me. “Daddy!” I heard Eliana’s voice calling from the corridor. She sprinted ou
