I just didn't understand the level of cruelty that truly was father until this moment. Seeing how he forced a small child to live this way after losing her family was beyond comprehension.

How could he let this be how she was treated. I remembered something from a day we spoke in my room, she had mumbled something about her not having a room, but this, I never imagined this was where she lived.

How she managed to turn out the loving, caring person she did after what she went through or how she was truly treated behind closed door is beyond me. This woman had everything taken from her, yet she worked hard, never complained once, kept up great marks in school all while living in squalor.
