We returned under a sky that looked like it had been bruised by war—splashes of red and gray smeared across the clouds, the horizon trembling with the aftershocks of battle.

The walk home was slow, silent, heavy. Blood crusted over fur and skin, dripping from torn clothing and claw marks. The copper tang hung in the air long after the last growl had faded. Not just rogue blood.

Ours too.

We crossed the threshold of the pack house like ghosts. Our once-safe walls, now lined with shadows. Doors creaked. Light flickered. It was too still, too quiet as if the house itself was holding its breath.

Dad’s weight leaned heavily against me. His arm was looped over my shoulders, more for necessity than comfort. He was bleeding still deep punctures torn into his flank, his paw twisted from when he fell trying to protect me. His face was clenched in pain, but he didn’t make a sound.

Louis walked beside us, his expression tight, jaw locked. There was a jagged tear across his chest and blood soaked

  • Rejected Me Once, Never Fool Me Twice   Chapter 59

Casey's POVThe fabric shimmered under Serene's touch as she adjusted it on the mannequin, while Winter leaned closer with her pen, scribbling ideas into the sketchbook balanced on her lap. I stood a little to the side, turning a pendant of soft silver in my hands, my mind sketching invisible lines and stones that would match the dress Serene was building. It still amazed me. This-being here, in the middle of Serene's fashion house, treated as if I belonged. My designs no longer scraps on paper shoved under a mattress. No longer a silly dream whispered into the silence of an omega's quarters. No. Here, Winter leaned toward me, asking how a sapphire chain would fall against the neckline. Serene nodded at my suggestions as if they were worth something. I was no longer filth. I was Casey. A designer. A mate. And yet, even as I smiled at Winter, a part of me was tugged backward. To Louis. Always to him. To the night everything changed.FlashbackThe storm had raged outside the windows, ra

  • Rejected Me Once, Never Fool Me Twice   Chapter 58

Casey’s POV Louis always carried the weight of tomorrow on his shoulders.Even when he smiled, even when his hands brushed mine, steady and grounding, there was always that glint in his eyes—the reminder that he wasn’t just mine. He belonged to the pack. He was the future Alpha, heir to an entire legacy, trained to lead and protect. And yet, somehow, he still found a way to make me feel as if I were his whole world.I noticed it in the smallest things. The way he cut his training short just to walk me back from Serene’s fashion house. The way he’d slip his fingers through mine during council meetings, like he needed to remind himself that I was there, alive, beside him. Or the way he’d tilt his head, listening, even when warriors spoke around us, as though my opinion mattered just as much as theirs.Sometimes I caught myself staring at him during training sessions, when he was out in the field, sweat glistening across his chest, his body moving with the kind of precision only an Alph

  • Rejected Me Once, Never Fool Me Twice   Chapter 57

Casey POVFlashback Back at Crescent Moon Pack, they treated my wounds. Or rather, she did. Winter. Her hands glowed with power, her eyes soft as she worked. She poured light into the darkness festering inside me, even when I couldn’t meet her gaze.Louis stayed near my bedside, restless, prowling, eyes always burning into me as though he feared I’d vanish. But me? I couldn’t look at him. What kind of mate was I? What could I offer him—Louis, son of the Alpha, heir to the throne of this pack? He deserved someone strong, pure, whole. Not someone dirtied by hands that should never have touched her, not someone shattered in body and mind.I was nothing. I was broken.Days stretched into weeks. I healed physically, but inside I was unraveling. Shame ate at me. Nightmares clawed me awake. Most nights, I locked myself away, unable to bear the thought of him seeing me so fragile. It was Serene who reached me first. Serene, with her patient smile and voice that didn’t demand but invited. She

  • Rejected Me Once, Never Fool Me Twice   Chapter 56

Casey’s POVThe soft hum of sewing machines and the occasional clatter of beads against a wooden table filled the air of Serene’s fashion house. Sunlight streamed through the tall glass windows, catching on the sequins of half-finished gowns and scattering a rainbow across the white-tiled floor. The scent of freshly steamed fabric and Serene’s rose-scented diffuser wrapped around me like a cocoon. For the first time in years, I could breathe in a space without fear.My hands moved almost on their own as I bent over the velvet cloth stretched before me, carefully setting a sapphire pendant into the center of a delicate silver chain I had forged earlier. Jewelry had always been my dream—quiet, beautiful things born out of hands that had known only ruin. My designs matched gowns Serene and Winter envisioned, as though we were three pieces of the same heart. Serene with her regal elegance, Winter with her icy imagination, and me—the girl who once thought she’d never be more than an Omega

  • Rejected Me Once, Never Fool Me Twice   Chapter 55

Winter's POV Her scent is everywhere. It clings to my skin, the sheets, even the air I breathe. Sweet and sharp, threaded with smoke from the candles she insisted on lighting, heavy with the heat of what we did last night. My wolf prowls inside me, restless, unsatisfied, snarling at me to reach for her again.Three rounds weren’t enough. They’ll never be enough.Winter shifts against me, her bare leg draping over mine like it belongs there. She murmurs my name in her sleep—my real name, not the fake one I gave the pack—and the sound rips through me worse than any blade.I shouldn’t have let it go this far.I shouldn’t have touched her at all.My jaw tightens as I stare up at the ceiling beams. My hand aches to slide over her waist again, to claim what’s mine. My wolf pushes at me, sharp and insistent. Mark her. Seal it. Now.The ache in my teeth is unbearable. I can almost feel the bite, the pull of blood and bond, her body trembling under me as the tether locks permanent. My vision

  • Rejected Me Once, Never Fool Me Twice   Chapter 54

Winter's POV Warning ⚠️. Explicit sex scene ahead.I gasp as Tyrone's fingers plunge deep into my aching core, his thumb rubbing firm circles over my clit. He captures my mouth in a searing kiss, swallowing my moans as he fucks me with his hand, his cock pressing insistently against my thigh.I'm sore from losing my virginity just hours ago, but I'm desperate for more. My hips rock into his touch, my pussy clenching around his fingers as I ride his hand shamelessly.Tyrone growls low in his throat, the sound sending a shiver down my spine. "Fuck, Winter," he rasps, breaking the kiss to trail his lips down my neck. "You're so tight and wet for me. Such a good little witch."His words make me blush, even as they send a thrill through me. I've always been submissive to my alpha, but this is different. This is raw, primal need.He withdraws his fingers suddenly and flips me onto my stomach. I yelp in surprise, but then he's hiking up my hips and I feel his hard length pressing against my
