Jason POV

“I have advised them to keep her hidden until we find out what the Wolf Council wants,” I shared with everyone. “What?” Julia questioned. “We cannot trust the Wolf Council and what Rafe has r with t hem,” Eric agreed. “I want to see my daughter!” Julia exclaimed.

“As do I, but we need to wait a little bit longer,” Eric commented. Before we could say anything else, an SUV rounded the corner, and game to a squealing stop in front of

it will take one look to see that Layla has not been marked. Can't they see that Rafe hasn't been marked either? The bond hasn't been completed, however fake it is.

Layla POV I slept like a baby in Samuel’s arms. Jason had gone to his room before I could suggest we all seleep together. I was a little hurt that he did not try harder to get me to sleep with him, but I guess they are happy taking turns. I am not sure how I feel about that. Before I could think about it any longer, I felt someone slip in bed behind me. I immediately felt the teasing touch of my mate. Jason had crawled into bed with me. Samuel had left earlier to get training in with the warriors. I knew they were reluctant to leave me alone given the risks. I did not mind. I wanted some time alone with Jason. I squirmed my butt closer to him and immediately felt his hardening cock against my ass. I started to reach around to pull him closer, when he gently took hold of my hand. “No funny business, beautiful,” he murmured as his lips kissed my bare shoulder. I turned in his ar

Samuel POV My heart had been in my throat the entire time I raced towards the pack hospital. I could feel Layla’s pain through our bond, and I knew she was suffering. Me racing with her in my arms had been making it worse. “Just hang on sweetheart,” I kept muttering as she kept lying to me, telling me she was okay. “Explain stable,” Jason demanded as I ran my hands through my hair. “We got here and they had seen this type of reaction before. They administered a variety of antidotes to stop whatever was entering her body,” I shared with him. “What if they gave her something that would counter the other?” Jason questioned. “I asked that. They said nothing would counter and if anything, it would simply solidify what was being given,” I assured him. “I want to see her,” Jason stated. “They are just getting her settled; I wanted to tell you what I knew,” I advised him. “You have advised me; now I want to

Jason POV My body tensed knowing our warriors had been told to avoid this area as we spent time with our mate. I heard Samuel yell for them to come immediately through our mind-link as I assessed the situation. I could see that there were at least twelve rogues racing towards us. “Layla, shift and race back towards the pack house,” I murmured as I continued to watch so that I could identify the strongest beast in the pack. I would take them down first, along with Samuel. While we were fighting Layla would be able to get away to safety. “No, absolutely not,” she stated as I whipped my head around to look at her. “This is not the time to be stubborn, Layla. We both need to know you are safe,” I argued as I turned back to face the threat. “I am not leaving you here to fight these rogues on your own. I can fight,” she stated confidently. “I am sure you can, but these are mature rogues. They will be fightin

Layla POV I could feel Sunny burst through the final barrier. She stood there, in my mind, panting and looking terrified. “You did it Sunny! You are back,” I stated excitedly. Sunny was looking around frantically; very disoriented. “Sunny, are you okay?” I questioned. Sunny was not responding and she was starting to scare me. I knew she was here and that she had taken over a large part of my body. “Sunny … you are starting to scare me,” I shared as she looked around as if not seeing or feeling me. I could hear Jason softly encouraging me to come back to him. I felt the sparks from Samuel touching me. It was amazing to me that I could tell who was touching me based on the feel of the energy coming from them. “Sunny,” I started to say, when I felt my eyes opening. I was excited to see Jason and Samuel and tell them the good news. Only what I saw was shadows … like I was looking

  • Rejecting Her Alpha Mates   Chapter 46 - Suffering

Samuel POV I have been watching Layla and Stella work on getting Layla’s wolf back for a couple of hours now. Stella now has sweat on her forehead, as Layla is looking nauseous. “Maybe you two should take a break,” Jason started to suggest when Layla and Stella simultaneously responded no. Jason was as concerned as I was. We could feel the toll it was taking on Layla to continue to fight for her wolf. While we could not experience the pain, we could feel the anxiousness coming from Layla. I stepped forward, hoping to give Layla strength through my touch. As I touched her, my wolf yelped at the burn he took. It was the same experience as if touching silver. I looked at my fingertips and saw that they were in fact blistering from touching Layla’s shoulder. “Layla; this is too dangerous,” I bit out. She was burning up from the inside out. She ignored me, as Stella continued her foc

  • Rejecting Her Alpha Mates   Chapter 45 - Healer

Layla POV Dinner with Samuel and Jason’s parents felt like being home. They were so welcoming and I knew immediately that I would love his parents as if they were my own. “Let’s plan a shopping trip; just the two of us,” the twins mom suggested. Jason frowned, “Not until we know the threat against Layla is resolved,” he murmured. My heart sank. I was disappointed until their mother replied, “There will always be a threat, boys. She needs to start living her new life; not be alienated.”. Samuel looked at Jason, before their father interjected, “Your mother is right. If I had kept her trapped every time a threat raised its head, she would have never been allowed out of the pack house,” he advised. “I want to be able to move around freely,” I admitted. I needed to feel like this was home and I would only be able to do so, if I lived like I had a normal life. “I have been accustomed to moving and being saf
