Chapter Fifty-Five

~Haven’s POV~

I couldn’t believe what Mr. Vera was suggesting.

That Tristian could have something to do with my father’s death. He would never.

Tristian was a lot of things. A liar, a manipulator, a bad boyfriend. But he was not a murderer. He wouldn’t hurt me just so I would get closer to him. 

The defense lawyer was really going out of his way to try to prove Trevor’s innocence. The crazy thing was that Trevor himself didn’t seem like he wanted this. I think he actually wanted to take responsibility for what had happened.

“Haven Campbell, please come to the stand.”

I was shaky as I was sworn in. My eyes found Logan and then I felt safe again. He was like my anchor.

“So, Ms. Campbell, you were with Mr. Fletcher the night of the accident, correct?” Mr. Rush questioned.
