The Promise

The sun was already high when Gabriel woke up the next morning. It was already hitting his face, so he got up immediately. He immediately looked around and felt a little embarrassed when he realized that all of his cousins had already woken up.

A few moments later, he saw his cousin Karen approaching him.

"You're already awake, cousin. Good morning," Karen said smiling as she approached Gabriel. Then she sat down next to him. "Would you like to have breakfast with us?"

Gabriel just smiled in response. Then he looked at the time on his wrist watch. He was a little surprised to see that it was already nine o'clock in the morning.

"Has everyone woken up?" Gabriel asked as he faced his cousin.

"Yes, cousin. You were the last one to wake up," Karen immediately answered. "Let's go and have breakfast. Janet was cooking in the kitchen."
