ログインThree years ago, the third most powerful mafia family in the country was slaughtered in a single night. Every member was executed without mercy… except one. Tiana. The bastard daughter no one cared enough to kill. Spared not out of kindness, but cruelty, she is dragged away as a captive and forced to endure three years of brutality at the hands of her family’s murderers, until the vibrant girl she once was disappears completely, leaving behind a mute, obedient girl. When her captors finally grow tired of her, she is disguised as a frail boy to increase her value and is thrown into an underground auction to be sold as damaged property. Marcus Valcari, a powerful mafia boss, had no interest in buying human property that night. He only raised his paddle because his girlfriend whimsically wanted the “pretty mute boy” as a birthday gift. The very night Tiana stepped into the Valcari estate, she wandered into a forbidden room to find a man who had been unconscious for nearly a year. A man doctors had declared would never wake again. Don Demetri Valcari. The most feared heir of the Valcari empire. The true devil of the underworld. Perhaps out of foolishness or curiosity, Tiana touches him. At just her touch, the man wakes, and the first thing his dark eyes see after months of darkness is her. What begins as curiosity quickly turns into a a dark obsession. Now marked by the ruthless man known to never accept refusal, Tiana must survive his growing obsession while guarding her biggest secret. But the longer she stays within his clutches, the harder it becomes to maintain her disguise. If he discovers the truth, there is no telling whether he will protect her… or ruin her completely for deceiving him.

“Fifty thousand going once, going twice, sold!” The auctioneer’s voice rang out, reaching the back of the stage where I was.
Dragging myself up to my knees, my fingers curled around the old rusty iron bars of my own personal cage, my gaze trained on the small crack in the curtains separating the part where I was and the part where the bidding was going on.
I saw as the newly sold merchandise, a young crippled boy, was carried off the stage, and then the next item was dragged up there, another set of damaged goods just like the rest of us here.
This was an underground human auction site, but not just any regular one. This one was a dump site, where all abandoned, unwanted, discarded goods were dropped off for recycling, if one could call it that. This was where the worst of the worst kind of men from society came to buy, where the ones with little change in their pockets could afford a human pet for whatever use they wanted it for.
I was not even considered human in a place like this. “It.” That was exactly what I was in the eyes of these people.
My previous master threw me here a month ago after disguising me as a boy. He had given strict instructions that I maintain my disguise until my sale was complete, and so far, I have successfully managed to fool everyone here.
My long flowing hair had been cut short, barely leaving anything. I was starved so I would lose weight. My chest was wrapped, bandaged to hide my bosoms.
Sitting back down on the floor of my cage, my knees curled up to my chest. I heard soft sobs coming from the cage next to mine. There was a girl in there, bawling her eyes out. My cold, lifeless eyes scanned her. She looked around 18. One of her arms was missing.
When she noticed that I was looking at her, she stopped sobbing, now staring at me with her wet, tear-streaked eyes like she was expecting some words of comfort.
The poor thing.
When she didn’t get any, her gaze turned sharp, glaring at me like I was the cause of her misfortune.
“What are you staring at, witch!” she snapped at me, throwing insults. “I hope your next owner guts you.”
I didn’t respond. I couldn’t, after all. Like her, I was damaged. I was mute, no voice, unable to speak.
I simply tore my gaze away from her, trying to mind my business while I waited my turn. I was hoping her words would come true. I wanted nothing more than for my next master to kill me instantly. I had long lost the will to live but was too cowardly to end my life.
Not long after, a tall, fat man came in with another lean man. They stared at my cage and then the girl’s.
“Which one should we take first?” the fat one asked the other guy.
“I don’t know, maybe that one. He looks pretty.” He was referring to me.
I felt relief as my cage was opened and I was pulled out. Unlike the others, I didn’t try to struggle or fight back.
Finally. I wanted this to be done and over with.
They pulled me out to the stage, the bright blinding light forcing me to keep my eyes down on the floor. Then I was made to stand at the center of the stage and face the audience. Everyone was wearing a mask, including the auctioneer himself.
The auctioneer came behind me, placing both hands on my shoulders.
“Fetch us a good price, boy,” he whispered into my ear, his rotten breath hitting my nose.
There was an urge to throw up in the pit of my stomach, but I held it in.
“We have a fine specimen here for you, ladies and gentlemen. This one here has properly been trained and set, and as you can see…” he made me spin around slowly for the audience to see, “…there is no external damage. It is also mute, which means you don’t have to be troubled about your new pet causing any noise pollution when you play with it.”
Both I and the audience understood what he meant when he said _play_. He meant abuse, rape, torture, or whatever heinous act they saw fit to use me for.
“We will start the bid for this one at forty thousand American dollars,” he announced.
Someone quickly raised their paddle for that amount, then another person raised their paddle for forty-one thousand, and then another person raised again.
“Do I hear fifty thousand? Can someone give me more? Who wants to go for a higher price?” The auctioneer was doing what he was good at — taunting the audience to bid more.
And as the battle for who would own me continued, my eyes slowly moved over the crowd, subtly staring at the eyes of the savage animals trying to buy me.
Then my gaze met a specific pair of eyes that had me pausing for a moment. It was a man wearing a black mask, a masked woman sitting next to him, her arms latched around his. He didn’t look like he belonged in this crowd… a crowd of lowlifes, schizophrenics.
There was just something about his gaze that made it impossible for me to look away. They were icy cold, and yet there was a hint of pity in them. He was staring back at me with pity, and it made my skin crawl as I immediately recalled my last master.
I quickly dragged my gaze back to the floor, my heart pounding in my chest.
“Three hundred fifty. Do I hear three hundred fifty thousand?”
My eyes widened slightly when I heard the amount. No way. How did my bid get so high? The highest anyone had been sold for here was two hundred thousand. My bid continued to increase till it reached an unbelievable amount of six hundred thousand.
A woman had just bid that amount.
“Six hundred thousand, folks. Would anyone like to challenge the lady in the front row?”
Nobody spoke from the audience or even dared to raise their paddles.
The woman smiled behind her mask, seeing that no one could dare counter her bid.
“Okay folks, going once, going twic—”
“Two million.”
My head immediately shot up when I heard the surprise bid, stunned as to who was mad enough to bid for damaged goods for that amount.
It was him, the man whose gaze I’d met. My blood ran cold.
~TIANA {POV}~A sharp ringing pain shot through my head the moment my eyes opened, causing me to shut them again for a quick second before I slowly opened them once more.I tried to sit up on what I assumed to be a bed, my brows knitting together as the pounding in my head only worsened with the movement. It was a dull, throbbing ache in my skull, like someone was hammering against my brain from the inside."Careful now."Someone whom I hadn't noticed spoke beside the bed. My eyes snapped toward the source of the voice, only for them to widen when I saw him, the comatose man from last night. He was in a wheelchair, his temples resting against his knuckles as he stared at me with a plain coldness in his eyes."You hit your head so hard last night I was starting to think you might never wake up," he said, his voice deep with a slightly rough edge beneath it.So this was what he sounded like.Registering what he had just said, my hand came up to my head to feel the bandage wrapped arou
~DEMETRI (POV)~Darkness. That's all there was. A deep, unending drowning darkness all around me.I wasn't even sure where here was, or how long I'd been stuck in this place; probably a day, a month, a year.Time was irrelevant here, every moment the same, but that was until I saw a light suddenly appear. No, it wasn't a light, it was a girl, staring down at me. Her flowing long red hair shining like a phoenix. Was I seeing an angel?Did this mean I was finally dead?As these questions spiraled through my head, she reached out her hand to me.I hesitated for a moment before taking her hand, and the moment our hands made contact, a heavy force yanked me forward, pulling me out from the darkness. When my eyes opened again, there was someone in my face staring right at me, and no, this person wasn't the beautiful girl from my vision with red long hair, it was a boy with dull eyes, bruised face, and he was touching me.He looked scared when he saw that I was staring right at him and imme
~ TIANA (POV)~My entire body jerked. Then another shot followed, quickly turning to multiple fires, popping off in rapid succession.“Get down!” the tattooed man barked, slamming me into the gravel, covering my heS lolad with his arm as bullets tore into the dirt beside us.My heart was hammering in my chest and for the first time there was actually an emotion in my dead eyes.Fear."Get to somewhere safe and hide," Jacob ordered, pulling out a gun from under his jacket, heading toward the direction where the shots were coming from.I got up on my feet without wasting a second and started running, looking for any safe place to hide myself from getting shot. When I noticed a door at the back of the mansion, I immediately went for it, pushing it open and entering, closing it quickly behind me.I was in the kitchen. My eyes quickly darted around as I moved, making my way upstairs very quickly. I could still hear the gunshots outside, getting very close by the second.Reaching a long h
~TIANA (POV)~The entire place went dead quiet as everyone’s heads turned towards him. I couldn't see their faces but I was certain shock was etched on them.Trying to regain his composure a bit, the auctioneer cleared his throat."Um....I seem to be having a bit of a um.... problem understanding you um s-ir" he chuckled nervously, fidgeting with his words."Did you bid two million, mister?"Even mentioning the amount sounded heavy on his tongue."Yes," the man's voice cut through the air, like a heavy ice blade, giving just a single word."In that case this item is yours, sir. Sold to the gentleman in the black mask!" The auctioneer announced, his lips stretching in an ear-to-ear smile. "Please follow the organizers behind backstage to process your payment."The men who brought me up came out and the fat one dragged me back again, while the other one, the lean one, went down to the audience. As I was taken away, I took one final glance at my new owner. He was standing up from his sea
