CHAPTER 5

MEADOW POV

With a smile I walked slowly behind the guard as we made our way out of the dark dungeon.

The bright light hit me unexpectedly as I instinctively closed my eyes. Slowly I peeled them open as I took in the environment.

The hallway was magical and neat. I could literally see my reflection on the marble floors, making me stare at my dirty shoes and how I may leave dirty marks on the floor.

What caught my attention were the beautiful decorations on the ceiling, it looked like stars . It made me feel like I was in a space. Conri may be brainwashed but he still has a wonderful taste in design. I almost chuckled when I hit my head against the guard's back.

The guard immediately let out a low growl, making me take a few steps back.

“Watch it, hybrid,” he growled, baring his fangs at me.

“That's not the way to talk to a lady, Levi.” I heard someone say as she walked from the guards front, I let out a soft scoff.

Everyone here is just absolutely stunning, it's amazing.

The lady stood flawlessly with her golden hair tied in a ponytail and her white dress was transparent showing every bit of her body plus it had slits on every side.

Does she even care that people are seeing her body?

She smiled brightly at me, I almost smiled back but immediately shook my head. The first female vampire I met, I thought was like an angel until she almost choked me to death. I'm not falling for their tricks again.

That's right, meadow. We have to be smart to get to mate.

I nodded.

“Hi Lilithra, I'm sure you've met my brother.”

I stare at her confused by her cheerful nature, is that normal? Or is she trying to weaken me before trying to suck my blood?

With a smile, she took a step closer and took a deep breath. With closed eyes she exhaled,

“Hmm, you smell delicious.” She said with her fangs out on display.

I knew it, too nice to be a vampire.

“Lucifer is so lucky, always gets the tastier ones.” She said with a smile, staring into my eye with her head tilted to the side.

What does she want?

“Do you want me to respond?” I asked,

“You don't speak to….” the guard already raised his hand to hit me.

“Stop, she only asked a question.”

I stared at both of them confused. Did she just defend me?

“Don't mind Levi, he's uptight, just like everyone else.” She said with soft eyes, “We have to get you cleaned up for Lucifer, he hates dirt.” She said, turning around, “Follow me.”

Levi the guard, took a step sideways away from view as a big door stood there slightly opened as Lilithra walked in.

I let out a soft breath, as I followed her in. My breath got caught in my throat as I took in the beautiful dressing room.

Was this room dedicated to dressing up or what?

I stood with shock as I took in every single dress, make ups, shoes, it was like a mall in a house.

“It's a bit messy, but we'll update the dresses soon. Lyra, the dress.” Lilithra said as she went to take a seat.

I heard light footsteps as a tiny girl quickly walked out from the other side of the room with a white dress. Immediately she walked past me, I picked up her scent.

Human.

Aliya my wolf said.

Why do they have a human in a castle full of vampires?

She walked to Lilithra’s side with a smile, “Here,” she said with a light voice.

“Thank you, let's draw a bath for her..” Lilithra said standing up as the tiny girl held her hand staring down.

“Mistress, can you bite me now?” she asked her fingers twitching like she was in drugs.

“What?” I said shocked mostly to myself.

Does this human even know what she just asked for?

Lilithra smiled as she turned she leaned down so there face were almost touching, “I would love to my dear pet, but you need to heal. Maybe tonight?”

“Mistress…” she protested but Lilithra placed her index finger on her lips,

“Tonight.” She said staring into her eyes.

Suddenly the girl relaxed with a smile and nodded, “Yes mistress.”

Lyra the tiny girl turned around and walked to stand in front of me, “Come this way for your bath,” she said more composed than before.

I took a shaky breath and stared between her and Lilithra who stood few steps away from us with an innocent smile.

“What did you do to her?” I asked Lilithra who looked amused by my question.

“I don't answer to you hybrid, Lyra and I keep our business private.” She said calmly and she turned around walking to the other end where what looked like perfumes were arranged.

“Ma'am, this way.” Lyra said about walking away when I caught her hand pulling her back to look at me.

“Do you know where you are? Do you understand what these vampires are doing to you?” I asked scared and worried for her sake as I searched her face.

But instead fear was written on her face as she stared at me.

Is she scared of me?

I shook my head, “Listen, I'm not gonna hurt you.”

“Let go, you're hurting me.”

I scrunch my brows confused, I felt wind past me making me close my eyes.

Next thing my back was hit against something hard, making me groan.

I opened my eyes to see Lilithra had her elbows on my throat not tight but clearly a warning.

“Don't touch my pet, hybrid. She's mine.” She growled.

The once sweet vampire suddenly looked scary as her eyes were red.

Breathing heavily she took a step back, “I don't want to hurt you,” she said more calmly as she swallowed, “Let Lyra dress you up and don't speak to her.” She said turning as she walked out of the room shutting the door behind her.

Lyra kept her distance as she offered to bath me again.

I swallowed let out a shaky breath, this place and everyone is sick and scary. I shouldn't be here, no, we…we shouldn't be here.

I have to get Conri out of here, one way or the other.

I nodded, as I followed Lyra towards the bathroom.

I'm glad, Conri wants to see me in private. He's getting me cleaned up, so we can talk.

I can't wait to get out of here with Conri by my side. Then we'll find a way to go back home and away from this sick vampires.
