For the past four years, she has been married to Alexander Reed, the werewolf Alpha of the Redstone pack, but no one knows that she exists because she's just a lowborn human, and their union—forbidden.

“Alexander,” Emilia moaned deeply with her eyes glazed over as her husband came inside her. She opened her eyes to see him staring into her eyes, so lovingly, that she literally felt the butterflies dance in her belly.

And just like that, Alexander rolled over her and stood to his feet. The stern look on his face and the cold aura she was used to settled back on him like a cloth. As she watched him redress, a deep but silent sigh reverberated through her.

“I've sent your monthly allowance,” Alexander said with his back to her, his voice calm but cold, and at that moment, Emilia's phone chimed with a notification.

But before she could say anything, a deep, sharp pain hit her lower abdomen, making her wince and squeeze her midsection.

“Alexander, please he…help. My stomach,” She groaned out, “take me to the hospital, the staff are all out,” she managed as the pain intensified.

“I don't have any more time to waste. I'll call you an Uber. Pack business can't wait,” he said, without turning back to look at her.

“Hmmh!” Emilia groaned silently, the pain blinding her momentarily as crimson red fluid ran down her leg and pooled in small droplets on the floor. Before she could utter another word, she heard Alexander's footsteps move further away from her.

** An hour later **

“Congratulations,” the doctor said as soon as she walked into Emilia's hospital room. She had been so worried about the intense pain she had felt and even the blood she had seen that she couldn't even lay down properly. “You are carrying a hundred per cent pure Alpha pup and no human had ever done that before,” she said, reading from the chart in her hand.

A smile spread across Emilia's face, and at that moment, the hurt she had been nursing in her heart towards Alexander, who had coldly left her bleeding in their bedroom, melted away.

‘Wait, I'm pregnant? A hundred per cent Alpha pup? That's a miracle,” Emilia said, her smile brightening across her face as she moved her hand protectively towards her belly.

“Aooo!” The sound echoed slightly around Emilia and the doctor, startling them.

“Was that a howl? Can pups howl?” Emilia asked, her brows furrowing in confused surprise as even the absurdity of the question wasn't lost on her.

“Most pups don't howl till they are ten years old, but your pup? His bloodline is stronger than any Alpha's,” the doctor replied as she handed Emilia the sonogram. “He may even awaken your inner wolf,’ she added.

“Inner wolf? But I'm human. How can I even have an inner wolf?” Emilia asked, her eyebrow rising in surprise as she collected the ultrasound image the doctor handed to her.

“You can have an inner wolf if you are an Omega who's yet to wolf out. Your pup can help awaken your wolf. Plus, Omegas are more or less like humans without their wolves,” the doctor explained patiently.

“No, I'm not an Omega. I'm just a human orphan. This baby is my only family,” Emilia replied as she hugged the sonogram close to her chest with a smile on her face.

Though a frown appeared on the doctor's face, since this was the first time Emilia came to the hospital, from what her file said, she assumed her new mother-to-be had no idea what she was insinuating. Humans weren't banned from associating with werewolves, but they weren't even considered worthy enough to even mate with a werewolf, not to mention an alpha.

With a small smile on her lips, Doctor Elena excused herself to give Emilia the space she seemed to Nedd and to also attend to her other patients.

‘I have to tell Alexander now,’ the thought echoed in Emilia's head and it sounded like a good idea, particularly because of the fact that she wasn't sure when he'd come by the house again.

As soon as she got discharged, Emilia quickly went to their home and freshened up, putting on her best sundress, and with the ultrasound photograph of the foetus, she went to Alexander's company.

‘I can't wait to tell Alexander we're having a baby. This changes everything,’ Emilia. said to herself as she walked into her husband's company.

“Excuse me,” she said tentatively to the receptionist at the lobby who was busily clicking the keys of the laptop in front of her. “I'm here to see Alexander Reed. Uh…it's urgent,” Emilia added, stuttering a little as the receptionist gave her a pointed look.

“Alpha Alexander isn't seeing visitors today,” the receptionist replied, her tone cold and rude.

“I am not a visitor. I'm Emilia Reed, his wife,” Emilia replied, with a smile on her face despite the impolite way the lady in front of her treated her.

“A human? Claiming to be Alpha Alexander's wife?” She asked, “What's next? You're going to tell me you're carrying his pup? Please try a new fairytale,” she replied, her tone slicing through Emilia's confidence dismissively.

For a few seconds, Emilia looked confused, then she decided to dial Alexander's mobile number.

“Get out of here, you human swine. Alpha Alexander is not available to your kind without proper clearance,” the receptionist barked at her, making Emilia turn slightly away from her to avoid causing a scene, which she knew would anger Alexander.

As Alexander's number rang, Emilia held the phone to her ear, waiting for when he would pick up. Clicking sounds echoing simultaneously on the open lobby, drawing Emilia's attention and making her raise her head.

With the phone still against her ear, Emilia's eyes widened in shock as Alexander walked from somewhere inside the building to the lobby where several people with cameras had already gathered. And on his arm was a woman, holding tightly onto him as several of the paparazzi took photos of them together.

Alexander smiled and fished his phone out of his pocket. Emilia watched in horror as he rejected her call with slight annoyance on his face.

“You see that beautiful goddess,” the receptionist said, pointing towards the woman holding on to Alexander, “that is our future Luna, the Alpha daughter of the MoonRay pack. Not some human,” she added, emphasising on ‘human’ like Emilia was some trash to be thrown out.

At that moment, Emilia watched as Alexander held on to the woman's hand and gently walked out of his company building. ‘Mia Kim, Alexander's first love. He didn't have time to take me to the hospital, not because of work like he had said, but because he was with her,’ the thoughts crossed Emilia's head as tears slid down her face.

All this time, she thought Alexander was just too busy with work, which was why he couldn't spend time with her. Emilia stared at the box in her hand as sorrow filled her heart. She took a deep breath and turned to leave.

As she got outside, the place was filled with several journalists and more paparazzi, which made Emilia pause in her stride at a corner.

“Can you confirm that you and Miss Kim have officially reunited?” one of them asked, and even Emilia was eager to hear what Alexander's answer would be.

“If your fated mate showed up today, would you reject her and pick Miss Kim?” Another journalist asked.

Meanwhile, a few kilometres away, Mason Gray, the first lycan prince and the next on line for the throne, sat in his study going through some documents that needed his attention. Before him, in the middle of the room stood ‘the globe’, which is an ancient relic often called ‘the eye’, and a bright brilliant light burst forth, filling the room with an intense blue-white glow.

“Father, Julian,” Mason shouted, his eyes widening at first in surprise, then in happiness, “the globe is shining,” she shouted again. Within seconds, footsteps resounded within the four walls of the mansion as the Lycan King, Logan, and a younger version of Mason stormed into the study.

“Father, it's Emilia,” Mason said, "we've found Emilia, her wolf has awakened,” he added as the first teardrop slid down his face in relief.

“She's in the Redstone pack right now,” Julian said, pointing to the red-glowing dot on the globe and at the same time gently patting his big brother on his back.

“My princess, we're coming for you,” Logan said, his voice shaky with relief.

"What are you talking about?" Stephanie was the first to break the short silence that ensured. Her voice came out sharp and demanding, cutting through the stillness that had settled over the room like a blade. She took a step forward, her body rigid with disbelief, shoulders thrown back in challenge."She is not pregnant," Emilia replied, her voice calm. The words floated across the space between them, simple and devastating. Emilia's face remained neutral, professional, as though she had just delivered a routine diagnosis rather than demolished the foundation of everything that had transpired over the past months."This incompetent human knows nothing," Mia shouted, her voice climbing to a pitch that made several people in the front row wince. Her face had gone red, veins standing out against her temples as fury overtook the careful performance she had been maintaining. "She's incapable of sensing an Alpha pup," Mia continued, her words tumbling over each other in her haste to discr

"No, no, no, no," Mia shouted, her voice climbing higher with each repetition. "Do not let this monster come near me."She extended her hand forward in an attempt to block Emilia from getting too close to her body, palm out in a stopping gesture. Her face showed theatrical fear, eyes wide and wild like she was facing genuine threat. The other hand remained pressed against her stomach, that protective gesture she'd been using throughout this entire confrontation."She tried to attack I and my precious baby," she added, the accusation delivered with trembling voice that suggested trauma.Several people in the audience shifted uncomfortably, caught between the sabotage plot that had just been exposed and this new claim of assault. A few faces showed confusion, trying to reconcile multiple contradictory narratives. The journalists were recording everything, cameras swiveling between Mia and Emilia."This human demon tried to murder your baby?" Stephanie asked, her gaze turning questioning

The shift in attention was immediate and complete, dozens of heads swiveling in unison toward where Mia sat. The accusation hanging in the air made her the new focus, suspicion replacing the shock that had dominated moments ago. Phones that had been recording Jessica's arrest adjusted angles, cameras now pointed at the blonde woman whose involvement had just been exposed.Mia's face showed panic for just a fraction of a second before she forced it away, replaced by indignant outrage. Her hands gripped the armrests of her chair, knuckles white from pressure. She could feel the weight of all those eyes, the judgment forming behind stares that had been friendly or at least neutral minutes before.Alexander's gaze was particularly intense, brown eyes boring into her with an expression that had gone from watchful to coldly assessing. His jaw was tight, arms crossed over his chest again in that defensive posture. Whatever satisfaction he'd shown earlier when Emilia revealed the antidote had

"You can't accuse me without evidence," Jessica retorted, her voice rising defensively. Her hands had curled into fists at her sides, body language shifting from shocked to combative. Color flooded her cheeks, eyes darting between Emilia and the audience as if seeking support. Several people were watching with intense interest now, the dynamic having shifted dramatically from what they'd expected."Evidence?" Emilia repeated, one corner of her mouth lifting slightly. "Who said anything about lacking evidence?"She placed her hand on the podium and lifted up another bottle that looked identical to the one that had shattered on the floor. The movement was smooth and deliberate, her fingers wrapping around a second vial that had apparently been resting there the entire time. Hidden from view by the angle of the podium, waiting for exactly this moment. The amber liquid inside caught the light just like the first bottle had, the exact same color and consistency."This is the real wolfsbane

Jessica hurried to where Emilia stood, her footsteps were quick, purposeful, heels clicking rapidly against the tile floor as she crossed the space between her position near the wall and the podium. Several people shifted in their seats to watch her approach, curious about what the hospital staff had to add to this demonstration. Her face showed eagerness, helpfulness, the expression of someone wanting to be useful."Please, allow me to assist you with this important moment," she said pleasantly with a smile on her face.Too pleasantly. The tone was several degrees warmer than the situation warranted, carrying false cheer that didn't match the tension in the room. Emilia watched Jessica approach with that same calm expression, making no move to refuse the offered assistance. Her fingers remained wrapped around the vial, holding it steady as Jessica came to stand beside her at the podium. The overhead lights caught the amber liquid inside, making it glow."That's very kind of you," E

"Ladies and gentlemen," Emilia began, her voice carrying clearly through the room. She stood at the podium with both hands visible, palms flat against the polished wood surface. Her posture was straight, professional, the bearing of someone who belonged exactly where she was. The white coat she wore caught the overhead lights, making her stand out against the darker backdrop of the conference room."I present you the wolfsbane antidote," she said, lifting up a small glass bottle filled with liquid in her hand for everyone to see.The vial was no larger than her palm, containing pale amber fluid that caught and refracted light. She held it high enough that everyone in the room could observe it clearly, turning it slightly so the liquid moved within the glass. The gesture was confident, almost triumphant, completely at odds with what people had been expecting.Alexander's expression shifted from neutral to satisfied, one corner of his mouth curving upward in a smile that looked genuine
