For the past four years, she has been married to Alexander Reed, the werewolf Alpha of the Redstone pack, but no one knows that she exists because she's just a lowborn human, and their union—forbidden.

ā€œAlexander,ā€ Emilia moaned deeply with her eyes glazed over as her husband came inside her. She opened her eyes to see him staring into her eyes, so lovingly, that she literally felt the butterflies dance in her belly.

And just like that, Alexander rolled over her and stood to his feet. The stern look on his face and the cold aura she was used to settled back on him like a cloth. As she watched him redress, a deep but silent sigh reverberated through her.

ā€œI've sent your monthly allowance,ā€ Alexander said with his back to her, his voice calm but cold, and at that moment, Emilia's phone chimed with a notification.

But before she could say anything, a deep, sharp pain hit her lower abdomen, making her wince and squeeze her midsection.

ā€œAlexander, please he…help. My stomach,ā€ She groaned out, ā€œtake me to the hospital, the staff are all out,ā€ she managed as the pain intensified.

ā€œI don't have any more time to waste. I'll call you an Uber. Pack business can't wait,ā€ he said, without turning back to look at her.

ā€œHmmh!ā€ Emilia groaned silently, the pain blinding her momentarily as crimson red fluid ran down her leg and pooled in small droplets on the floor. Before she could utter another word, she heard Alexander's footsteps move further away from her.

** An hour later **

ā€œCongratulations,ā€ the doctor said as soon as she walked into Emilia's hospital room. She had been so worried about the intense pain she had felt and even the blood she had seen that she couldn't even lay down properly. ā€œYou are carrying a hundred per cent pure Alpha pup and no human had ever done that before,ā€ she said, reading from the chart in her hand.

A smile spread across Emilia's face, and at that moment, the hurt she had been nursing in her heart towards Alexander, who had coldly left her bleeding in their bedroom, melted away.

ā€˜Wait, I'm pregnant? A hundred per cent Alpha pup? That's a miracle,ā€ Emilia said, her smile brightening across her face as she moved her hand protectively towards her belly.

ā€œAooo!ā€ The sound echoed slightly around Emilia and the doctor, startling them.

ā€œWas that a howl? Can pups howl?ā€ Emilia asked, her brows furrowing in confused surprise as even the absurdity of the question wasn't lost on her.

ā€œMost pups don't howl till they are ten years old, but your pup? His bloodline is stronger than any Alpha's,ā€ the doctor replied as she handed Emilia the sonogram. ā€œHe may even awaken your inner wolf,’ she added.

ā€œInner wolf? But I'm human. How can I even have an inner wolf?ā€ Emilia asked, her eyebrow rising in surprise as she collected the ultrasound image the doctor handed to her.

ā€œYou can have an inner wolf if you are an Omega who's yet to wolf out. Your pup can help awaken your wolf. Plus, Omegas are more or less like humans without their wolves,ā€ the doctor explained patiently.

ā€œNo, I'm not an Omega. I'm just a human orphan. This baby is my only family,ā€ Emilia replied as she hugged the sonogram close to her chest with a smile on her face.

Though a frown appeared on the doctor's face, since this was the first time Emilia came to the hospital, from what her file said, she assumed her new mother-to-be had no idea what she was insinuating. Humans weren't banned from associating with werewolves, but they weren't even considered worthy enough to even mate with a werewolf, not to mention an alpha.

With a small smile on her lips, Doctor Elena excused herself to give Emilia the space she seemed to Nedd and to also attend to her other patients.

ā€˜I have to tell Alexander now,’ the thought echoed in Emilia's head and it sounded like a good idea, particularly because of the fact that she wasn't sure when he'd come by the house again.

As soon as she got discharged, Emilia quickly went to their home and freshened up, putting on her best sundress, and with the ultrasound photograph of the foetus, she went to Alexander's company.

ā€˜I can't wait to tell Alexander we're having a baby. This changes everything,’ Emilia. said to herself as she walked into her husband's company.

ā€œExcuse me,ā€ she said tentatively to the receptionist at the lobby who was busily clicking the keys of the laptop in front of her. ā€œI'm here to see Alexander Reed. Uh…it's urgent,ā€ Emilia added, stuttering a little as the receptionist gave her a pointed look.

ā€œAlpha Alexander isn't seeing visitors today,ā€ the receptionist replied, her tone cold and rude.

ā€œI am not a visitor. I'm Emilia Reed, his wife,ā€ Emilia replied, with a smile on her face despite the impolite way the lady in front of her treated her.

ā€œA human? Claiming to be Alpha Alexander's wife?ā€ She asked, ā€œWhat's next? You're going to tell me you're carrying his pup? Please try a new fairytale,ā€ she replied, her tone slicing through Emilia's confidence dismissively.

For a few seconds, Emilia looked confused, then she decided to dial Alexander's mobile number.

ā€œGet out of here, you human swine. Alpha Alexander is not available to your kind without proper clearance,ā€ the receptionist barked at her, making Emilia turn slightly away from her to avoid causing a scene, which she knew would anger Alexander.

As Alexander's number rang, Emilia held the phone to her ear, waiting for when he would pick up. Clicking sounds echoing simultaneously on the open lobby, drawing Emilia's attention and making her raise her head.

With the phone still against her ear, Emilia's eyes widened in shock as Alexander walked from somewhere inside the building to the lobby where several people with cameras had already gathered. And on his arm was a woman, holding tightly onto him as several of the paparazzi took photos of them together.

Alexander smiled and fished his phone out of his pocket. Emilia watched in horror as he rejected her call with slight annoyance on his face.

ā€œYou see that beautiful goddess,ā€ the receptionist said, pointing towards the woman holding on to Alexander, ā€œthat is our future Luna, the Alpha daughter of the MoonRay pack. Not some human,ā€ she added, emphasising on ā€˜human’ like Emilia was some trash to be thrown out.

At that moment, Emilia watched as Alexander held on to the woman's hand and gently walked out of his company building. ā€˜Mia Kim, Alexander's first love. He didn't have time to take me to the hospital, not because of work like he had said, but because he was with her,’ the thoughts crossed Emilia's head as tears slid down her face.

All this time, she thought Alexander was just too busy with work, which was why he couldn't spend time with her. Emilia stared at the box in her hand as sorrow filled her heart. She took a deep breath and turned to leave.

As she got outside, the place was filled with several journalists and more paparazzi, which made Emilia pause in her stride at a corner.

ā€œCan you confirm that you and Miss Kim have officially reunited?ā€ one of them asked, and even Emilia was eager to hear what Alexander's answer would be.

ā€œIf your fated mate showed up today, would you reject her and pick Miss Kim?ā€ Another journalist asked.

Meanwhile, a few kilometres away, Mason Gray, the first lycan prince and the next on line for the throne, sat in his study going through some documents that needed his attention. Before him, in the middle of the room stood ā€˜the globe’, which is an ancient relic often called ā€˜the eye’, and a bright brilliant light burst forth, filling the room with an intense blue-white glow.

ā€œFather, Julian,ā€ Mason shouted, his eyes widening at first in surprise, then in happiness, ā€œthe globe is shining,ā€ she shouted again. Within seconds, footsteps resounded within the four walls of the mansion as the Lycan King, Logan, and a younger version of Mason stormed into the study.

ā€œFather, it's Emilia,ā€ Mason said, "we've found Emilia, her wolf has awakened,ā€ he added as the first teardrop slid down his face in relief.

ā€œShe's in the Redstone pack right now,ā€ Julian said, pointing to the red-glowing dot on the globe and at the same time gently patting his big brother on his back.

ā€œMy princess, we're coming for you,ā€ Logan said, his voice shaky with relief.

The logic was sound, the kind of reasoning that made it clear this was about competence as much as disrespect. People who could be fooled so easily, who made no effort to verify information before acting on it, who followed authority without questioning obviously suspicious circumstances, were liabilities in any organization."You are all fired," Julian finished, the declaration delivered with finality that made several people gasp.Referring to Clara and the other employees apart from Victor, his hand swept to encompass everyone who had actively participated in the harassment. His face showed no regret, no hesitation about ending multiple careers with a simple statement. They had made their choices, and now they would face the consequences."Please, Sir," Clara said, falling to her knees immediately. "I'm so sorry."Joined by the other employees who had insulted Emilia, they formed a line of begging figures that would have been pathetic if their earlier cruelty had not been so eviden

"Who dares to insult my wife?" Alexander walked in closely behind them. His voice cut through the lobby like a blade, sharp and dangerous, carrying the kind of authority that made everyone freeze in place. At the same time, guards filed into the lobby and surrounded them, moving with military precision to secure every exit. The security personnel were clearly Alexander's people, wearing different uniforms from the institute's guards, faces set in grim lines that suggested they were prepared for violence if necessary.Alexander's presence transformed the atmosphere completely. Where Mason and Julian radiated protective fury, Alexander carried something colder, more controlled, but no less dangerous. His eyes had gone yellow, wolf visible just beneath the surface despite his perfectly tailored suit. His hands were clenched at his sides, jaw tight enough that the muscle jumped visibly beneath his skin."My Princes, Alpha Reed," Victor said, his voice carrying the kind of deference reserv

Emilia and the other employees burst out in laughter at the unceremonious way Jessy hit the ground. The sound filled the lobby, genuine amusement mixed with the relief of tension finally breaking. Emilia's hand came up to cover her mouth, but her shoulders shook with mirth that could not be contained. The employees joined in, their earlier fear transforming into nervous laughter that suggested they were trying to distance themselves from their mistakes. Some pointed at Jessy sprawled on the floor, others exchanged glances that communicated shared embarrassment at having been fooled. The sound echoed off the marble floors and high ceilings, amplifying until it felt like the entire building was laughing.Peter had a hand pressed to his chest, trying to regain his composure but failing as fresh waves of laughter overtook him. Even Victor's stern expression had cracked slightly, one corner of his mouth twitching upward despite his obvious attempt to maintain professional dignity."Emilia

"Victor, perfect timing," Clara exclaimed, quickly moving away from Emilia to where Victor now stood, her steps were unsteady, heels clicking erratically against the polished floor. Shock and fear still written on her face, her eyes remained wide and her breathing came in short gasps. She had no idea what had just happened, could not comprehend how Emilia had forced her to strike herself three times without touching her.As she reached Victor's side, her hand came up to cradle her now red cheek. The skin was inflamed, three distinct handprints visible where her palm had connected with force. Her fingers touched the tender flesh gingerly, wincing at even that gentle contact. Blood had dried at the corner of her mouth where her ring had cut into her lip during the final slap."These people walked in here disrespecting the CEO's sister," she whined, her voice taking on a plaintive quality designed to evoke sympathy.Pointing back toward Peter and Emilia, her other hand gestured wildly t

"Do not touch either of us," Emilia warned. Her voice cut through the lobby with unmistakable authority, the tone shifting from patient to commanding in an instant. She had had enough of the rubbish all these ignorant persons had tried to pull, enough of being dismissed and insulted and physically manhandled. Her eyes had gone hard, jaw set in a line that suggested she was done being accommodating. But if it came down to any of them trying to physically harm either her or Peter, she was not going to sit back. The threat was implicit in her posture, in the way her body had shifted to a more defensive stance. Her feet planted wider, weight distributed evenly, preparing to move if necessary. "Yes, do not dare touch her," Peter said, moving to stand more directly in front of Emilia despite her being the one with supernatural abilities. His protective instinct overrode logic, driven by Alexander's orders to keep her safe at all costs. His own body had tensed, chest puffed out in an attem

"Don't worry, Princess," Peter whispered, his voice barely audible even to Emilia's enhanced hearing. "I won't let anyone hurt you."Alexander had been explicit in his instructions when sending Peter to work here. 'Protect Emilia at all costs, but respect her desire for anonymity. Do not reveal who she was unless her life was in immediate danger.' Peter took those orders seriously, understanding that his boss's marriage depended on showing Emilia the respect of honoring her wishes even when it went against every protective instinct. The corner of Emilia's mouth twitched, suppressing the urge to laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Here stood Peter, a regular wold with little supernatural abilities, positioning himself between her and potential threats. His body was tense with determination, shoulders squared despite the security guards who outweighed him significantly. His hands had curled into fists at his sides, ready to fight if necessary. The thought brought warmth to her ches
