Chapter 12. What is the problem?

Katrina goes to the mansion with her husband, while Amber stays in her apartment.

"I have some things to solve at the office now," Jarl says as he enters the bathroom after they go up to the room. "I already instructed Sara to give you special attention. If you need anything, you can talk to her."

"Isn't it too late for you to go to the office?" Katrina asks, sitting on the bed. "You said you would take care of me tonight."

Jarl doesn't answer, as usual. Katrina is already used to his late-night outings and his obvious way of ignoring her.

With a tired sigh, she takes off her shoes and lies down on the bed. She no longer feels any pain, but she prefers to follow her doctor's recommendations and rest. She puts her hands on her belly and closes her eyes, trying not to think about anything except for that little puppy growing inside her. She wonders how it's possible that he hasn't been able to feel it yet; parents usually feel their puppies even before the mother knows she's pregnant. C
