Charlie POVWhen she finally stopped giving me the deadly glare, she spoke up. “I finally found the Lily you lied about.” She scoffs a wild laugh from her lips. It's as if the hair at the back of my neck stands immediately. “ Lily?” I think out loud, startling her more by whispering her name.“Fuck, who is the florist to you?” She blurts out, tears rolling down on each side of her eyes as she lays flat on the bed.I’m tempted to move closer to her, but the way she stares at me gets my feet glued to the same spot. She has every right to feel this way because she’s just lost something precious to her. Her womb—I understand she can’t imagine not being able to give birth again. I know it hurts, but we can push our way through; we can adopt babies anytime, and that wouldn’t make me love her less. But at this point, she is in her worst mood ever.“ What?” My eyes narrow as her questions drum in my head. I’m shocked that she has truly found her, and Lily is now a florist.I quickly take out
As soon as George takes us back home, I guide my kids back into my room as Flora statements swirl in my head continuously. What if the stranger guy in the black suit comes from Charlie? Does that mean he has come to find out about me and my sextuplets?“ Mommy! Gosh, I’m so famished!” Nelly screamed as she dove onto the bed.I don’t focus on them yet as I think of what to do. I ran my hands into my blond to clearly think of a solution.“ Mommy! Can you please hear me out?!” Pearl groans, rolling on the bed, and I don’t get what she wants. I’m trying to think of a better way to protect them from Charlie!“Babies, can you relax a bit? Mommy is busy; she’s brainstorming for a few minutes.” I say it out loud, and the room goes silent like that of a graveyard. I had to stare at them to be sure they were okay.“Mommy, are you okay?” Pearl sits up on the bed, staring at the paleness on my face.I blink a couple of times as I stare at her, then at the other kids. It’s the first time I've shar
The Uber stops in front of the biggest supermarket in town, and then I spot my kids with Pelars and a stranger guy who nearly looks like the one on the CCTV, standing in front of them, stopping them from moving.I paid up the driver and got down from the car, frowning in disgust and clenching on my teeth until I walked up to them.My kids come running to me as soon as they spot me close enough. “What’s going on here?” I demand it immediately.“We have an order from our boss to prevent you from moving until he arrives. I’m sorry for the inconveniences, but I have to do so as I am ordered.” He lowers his head at me, but he receives a sudden slap across his tight jawline before he takes his head back up.“You have no right to fucking stop us, and I fucking do not care about your boss!” I try to push him away from in front of my kids, but his colleagues, who are also dressed like him in all black suits, stop me from moving out.“Do you want me to fucking call the cops on you?” I growl alr
Troy POV“I have an order to other creatures who are attempting to step into the boundary in which they have been prevented to step in for years. Tell the werecats, the fae creatures, the vampires, and the witches that Alpha Archie is reminding them of their limits!” He growls as he stands up from his silver throne, having given his final warning to be passed across to the creatures.Zac and I haven’t said anything since the meeting began, and all that Father has been saying makes sense.Yonger Island is like a land of wealth; other creatures will love to come in because of the good life in it, but then there is a rule and some sort of supernatural power across the border of Yonger Island.Initially, the supernatural power transforms you into a land or desert instead of the Yonger Island kingdom. But lately, other creatures have been able to find a means to terminate the effect of the power, allowing them to freely invade the land of the Yonger Island kingdom. You won’t blame them aft
I drive into the school parking lot, peaking at the mirror in front of me and staring at my kids in the back seat.“Okay, babies, you’re in school now.” I smile; I can’t help smiling hard whenever I stare at them, because they're apparently the only reason I’m striving to be a strong and happy woman.I take off my seat belt, jump out of the car, and pull the door open. They step out in an orderly fashion until I shut the door, holding them protectively as I approach the hallway.I stop at the entrance of the hallway and wave them goodbye after giving each of them kisses on the forehead.I stand in the same spot, watching them walk to their class just by the corner; it’s barely a distance from the alley.I watch them enter the class and finally turn away from the entrance of the hallway. I saunter towards the office on the left corner, just when you are almost on your way out of the hallway.I stop at the office and give it a slight knock until I hear a female voice telling me to come.
Charlie POVI sit near the fireplace in my sitting room beside my bar, gulping down the fifth glass of whiskey.I fly the collar of my leather long sleeve shirt, exposing the white inner armless and leaning recklessly on the black steel chair. My gold chain around my neck reflects the burning fire like a mirror. I’m not entirely composed in my sitting position as I stare at my phone, waiting for it to beep.I’ve sent her a thousand messages, but she hasn’t replied to a single one of them. Since she walked away with the kids, and I didn’t have the nerve nor the conscience to stop her, she’s been ignoring the messages I send her just to simply have a talk with me.I know I’ve been a dick, but this time I want my kids with me. I can't seem to tear their faces from my memory box, not when they have almost all my features! My eyes, my damn lips, even smiles, and also my hair nature. How do I rest without getting them close to me?I’m frustrated as I can’t also tear my glance from the phone
I’m sitting on the white couch that I and Charlie bought a few weeks ago with our hard-earned money. Since we moved into this city in New York, we have been working our butt off just to provide a living for ourselves. It isn’t easy, but since we have each other, we do it simply out of love, and if you ask me, we have been doing fine, or so I thought. Just right on the dinner table, I can hear Charlie’s phone ringing. I ignore the call because he is in the bathroom, and whenever he is done, he will take his call. I go on reading my book, crossing my leg over to the other. It’s my off day today at work. I really don’t have much to do other than prepare breakfast for Charlie and read the loads of books, which I had stockpiled for over two weeks. I focus on reading the third line of my novel when the phone buzzes up again, whoever it’s kept on calling, causing me to baffle. "Charlie, I think you have an urgent call!” I shout so that he can hear me, but most times the sound of the water
"You said I was your only lover!” She screams. I don’t know when my hands quiver with shock as the phone slips away from my hands and crashes to the ground. I’m freezing on my spot as I stand firm like a statue without even being moved by the breeze coming through the window. I'm in such deep shock that I can neither scream nor cry; it’s as if my voice is trapped in my throat. “ Honey?” Charlie shouts my name as he walks out of the bathroom. I turn to stare at him as if he were a ghost as tears trickle down my cheek. “ Goodness, Are you okay, Lily?” Goodness, his voice is so gentle and filled with so much fake innocence; he is painfully gorgeous. With a natural tan, light brown hair, and a slicked back, his square, masculine jaw was sharper than a knife. He looks like sweet sin and regret. He steps forward until he can see the tears flooding my cheek. I watch the sudden shock in his eyes, and then the confusion sweeps across his green hazel eyes as he sees his phone lying on the flo
