Chapter 23

Charlie POV

I sit near the fireplace in my sitting room beside my bar, gulping down the fifth glass of whiskey.

I fly the collar of my leather long sleeve shirt, exposing the white inner armless and leaning recklessly on the black steel chair.

My gold chain around my neck reflects the burning fire like a mirror. I’m not entirely composed in my sitting position as I stare at my phone, waiting for it to beep.

I’ve sent her a thousand messages, but she hasn’t replied to a single one of them. Since she walked away with the kids, and I didn’t have the nerve nor the conscience to stop her, she’s been ignoring the messages I send her just to simply have a talk with me.

I know I’ve been a dick, but this time I want my kids with me. I can't seem to tear their faces from my memory box, not when they have almost all my features!

My eyes, my damn lips, even smiles, and also my hair nature. How do I rest without getting them close to me?

I’m frustrated as I can’t also tear my glance from the phone
