Chapter Twelve

 

Dante Becker drifted into a fitful slumber. The last thing he recalled trailing off watching the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

While wandering, he plummeted through darkness landing on something wet. When Becker opened his eyes a battleground emerged. He searched his mind for his whereabouts. He recalled the grounds Soviet-Afghan War.

The war had lasted over nine years, and within those nine years, Becker engaged in the war. December 1979 to February 1989 insurgent groups identified as the mujahideen fought against the Soviet Army and Democratic Republic of Afghanistan government. During those years, in the country’s rural surrounding, the United States and Pakistan backed the mujahideen groups. They passed it a cold war proxy war. Between 562,000 and 2,000.000 civilians murdered and millions of Afghan fled to country as refugees.
