Chapter 7: Werewolf Soiree

Alison's POV:

I sat down in the living room consistently changing channels since I was bored. My parents want me to go to the Soiree later but I refused since Mandy wouldn't go there. Mom was busy with preparations even though it was still early. Dad was still at work so all I do is scan through every channel to find an interesting show. But so far I couldn't so I give up. As I settled on a news channel Mom called me from the kitchen. She wanted to bring food to this party.

"Yes, coming in a sec," I shouted back. Swiftly jumping off the couch to run to her side. She was rummaging ingredients so I waited.

"Sweetie can you give me some of your time?" she asked.

"Of course mom, what do you need?" I was excited since we were about to cook something of her recipe and I swear they taste heavenly. Even wolf cubs crave them.

"Just helped me with the sauce and chopped the vegetables on the table. I need to prepare the meat. She was going to bring meat pie. The party was about welcoming the Kingdred's of the Blood Moon Pack. They are one of the most powerful packs in this country and they treat them like royalties.

'Maybe Lucius's popularity got to his head that he's acting sassy ever since he got into school.'

I was imagining different scenarios in my head just to give me the motivation to hate him. But his cute little sister is a different matter. I like her. I envy that guy since I'm an only child in our family and that gives me a thought.

"Mom when will my little brother or sister come? Why don't you and dad conceive another pup?" I asked her teasingly.

My mom propped her head out of the freezer. She was in the middle of organizing the meat when I told her that. Albeit it was cold her face turned into a tomato color. She blushed profusely as her eyes almost bulged out of her sockets. I laughed so hard that I clumsily swung the knife. Accidentally, cutting myself in the process. I yelp in shock. She rushed to my side to help me stop the bleeding but I was still laughing.

"Silly child, it's not that easy you know. Even if I want to. Your father won't allow it. I almost died giving birth to you so he's been too protective ever since." My mother sighed in sadness. I didn't know that. I felt remorseful all of a sudden so I hugged her. My guilty conscience tells me it was my fault so I don't dare look at her. When I was born she told me I was too weak. I always get sick and sometimes I won't be able to get out of bed for days. Until one day it was all gone. Mom said she prayed and prayed to the moon goddess day and night. The moon goddess must be true since I also prayed to her. She really listened to what I wished for.

"Oh my baby, it's not your fault. Your father and I are happy to have you. When we almost lost you I also felt like our world would end. It only revolves around you." she told me while looking in my eyes lovingly.

She wiped my tears as she laughed that they might get late if she delayed preparing the pie. I strengthened my resolve and went to the table to cut the vegetables once again. She gave me a bandaid before proceeding to the sink to wash the meat.

*************************

We finished by 6:30 PM and dad was also back from work. She greets mom with a kiss and proceeds to hug me next. When he laid down on the couch to take a rest he started talking.

"Alison are you sure you don't want to come? It's perfect for you since David will come as well." Dad looked at me begging me to come.

"Ah no dad Mandy won't be going so I won't as well." I lied. I just don't want to see Lucius or David. Also, they thought we were still friends that's why they were not suspecting. I feel bad for lying too. I don't want to hurt them if one day they find out.

"Mandy? Your friend? But she was on the list sweetie. I thought you knew that and that you were sick." he said.

'Wait What?!'

"Who's her escort Dad?" I asked him hastily.

"Ahh, she's going with Lucius Kingdred. Lucky girl, she might be chosen as his Luna. It is an honor for our pack since we will be affiliated with the strongest pack and have a Luna coming from ours." he boasted.

If I could only see my Omega she was mad. I changed my mind I have a new plan.

"Alright, Dad since Mandy was coming I'm coming too." I smiled looking at him.

I went upstairs to prepare since we still have two hours to dress up and prepare. Looking inside my closet to find the red gown I bought last time. It was a sleeveless mermaid-style gown with a revealing chest area. I set it down on my bed while I shortly took a shower. Drying my hair and later curled them while half of it was put into a bun. I just followed what Shirley taught me when she was doing my makeup, wearing rouge red lipstick as a finishing touch. I tone it down a bit so it would look simple but elegant. The time passed too quickly and I thought I was going to consume those two hours but I still have twenty minutes to spare. Going down to greet my parents they looked at me with awe.

"Oh my goodness sweetie, you look stunning. As if you're the moon goddess yourself." My mom exclaimed in delight.

My mother always flatters me. Of course, the moon goddess is much more pretty, gorgeous, noble, and most likely divine. I'm nothing compared to her.

"Where is your escort? Is David neglecting my beautiful and kind daughter?" My dad added. I giggled.

"Oh, Dad I told him I wasn't going remember?" I asked him trying not to laugh.

"Where's your shawl young lady? Although you look mature and sexy like your mom I won't let another wolf stare at you so boldly and with a lewd look on their face," he stated strictly.

"It's in my bag dad don't worry," I assured him.

But my dad wasn't going to let it easy for me. He stubbornly asked for it and nag me till I wear the shawl. He walked towards me and secured it tightly so my chest wouldn't reveal too much. I'm lucky I'm not a late bloomer I can proudly wear sexy and revealing gowns like this. But with a protective father, you can never expect it to look that way. It was actually cute since my father wasn't as close as this before. He would only stare but wouldn't talk to me. Then I remember what mom told me. I guess back then he was looking at me as a curse since I almost killed mom. I'm glad things have changed and it didn't follow the original path to my true fate.

"Let's go dad or mom's pie will go cold," I said tauntingly.

He spins me around then stops. Then he puts his hand under his chin as if thinking like an artist wanting to paint a portrait.

"Alright, all clear let's go." Mom chuckled at his comment. It was funny to see them like this. I hope it will last long even if I exchange my chance with having a family with my true mate, which is Lucius.

I looked down to hide my frown since I don't want them to worry. We hopped into my father's car. Even though we are wealthy my parents are too humble to let others see it. My father believes that if you already have everything it's not a reason to stop working. He sees it as a discipline and always tells me that.

"One success doesn't mean you stop instead it is a drive to give your all to achieve more." he would always say that it became our family motto.

The party was hosted by the Austins and it was the place where I lost everything; including my life. I felt terrible remembering the pain and as we get near the place my hands tremble in anxiety. It was traumatic to go back to the place where I lost my life. The coldness, the suffering, the darkness, the still silence, everything was completely unnerving.

"Alison are you alright?" my dad asked. He was looking at the rearview mirror to check up on me.

"I'm alright dad just nervous that's all." I tried to laugh but it hitched and now mom was looking.

I can't stand their worried glances so I try to calm myself down. We soon reached the parking space and dad has gone out to open the car for her. When dad opened my side he held out his hand which I take shakily.

"Sweetie are you really okay? You don't look alright and your hand is too cold. Why don't you stay here while we greet them and give them the pie your mom baked? Then we will leave." he suggested but I stubbornly refused.

"I'm an okay dad. Just give me one moment. Go ahead I'll follow you two suit." I smiled at him hoping he will feel relieved.

"Sure sweetie, just don't force it. If you don't feel good we will leave okay?" he asked one more time.

I nod as an answer and they soon left. When I felt like I calmed down a bit I went out to go to the venue. It was a five minutes walk since it was in the middle of the forest. A large villa where it all started and ended. As I entered I was fascinated by the enchanting design that welcomes me. Unlike before, it was almost like an abode of fairies and nymphs. But it was just the inside the outside going to the pool area was more beautiful, glamorous, and lively. Different guests are chatting indistinctly to themselves. Prying eyes locked on me like an eagle to prey. I don't know if they were in awe or what but I felt even more nervous.

They're starting to ask from who's family I am to come here without an escort. I pretend to not hear them and went to the open area instead. Watching those who are dancing while enjoying peach juice. A guy approached me soon and smiled at me asking for a dance. He had brown hair, gray eyes, tall and a stout figure. I agreed since I was all alone. While dancing he introduced himself which I find attractive since his fangs came out whenever he talks. He's from the Blood Moon Pack so I was hesitating to introduce myself. I just recently got used to socializing and I'm not used to it. But I had fun talking to him. I instantly forget my worries. After two songs we stopped but we were crowded with teens my age. They're bombarding me with questions and flattery that I was overwhelmed by.

Until David butts in asking for a dance. He kinda looks pathetic right now but I agreed to it. I wanted to taunt him but my conscience doesn't let me. He was also betrayed so I can't really get mad but it doesn't mean I forgive him. After all, the one who killed me was him.

"Uhm...Alison I know you're mad at me and I'm uh. The truth about Mandy and I, is that uhh...." he was struggling to explain so I cut him off. If he can't let go of his pride then it's useless to explain it and ask for a half-hearted apology.

"David it's good that you now know what kind of woman was Mandy but that doesn't mean I'm really into you. Don't worry after I shifted I am going to ask our parents to cancel our engagement so you two can get together." I told him, ending our dance midway through the song.

He didn't follow which is good so I just went to where I was sipping my peach juice.

Then came my worst nightmare, clad in black as if she was mourning. As usual, here tastes with outfits are nothing to be compared to mine. People started gossiping since the one who accompanies the pig was the next heir to the Blood Moon Pack. As Mandy's eyes meet mine I gave her the sweetest smirk I can give her.

'Get ready Mandy coz I'm coming at you like a lion instead of a wolf. I will make your life miserable.'

Then there goes my plan and that is to........
