Chapter 31: The Killer's Trail

Alison's POV :

My ears twitched when I heard someone's footsteps. I couldn't find anywhere to hide so I prepared myself. In one swift motion, I kicked as high as I could to knock down whoever it was.

"You're not allowed here. Why are you here?" his raspy voice speaks out. Though I was more surprised that he caught my kick.

"I know detective, but I wouldn't stand by knowing that my father is in trouble. You still haven't caught the real culprit so I'm just helping you guys." I said nonchalantly. I jumped backward and carefully watched his movements.

"Don't look at me like some weak prey you're about to eat. Your father was already released so why are you still doing this?" he asked. Smacking his chapped lips in dismay, he narrowed his eyes at the backpack in my hand.
