He let her suffer, he broke her, he tormented her to the point of her losing the pregnancy. And when she lay bleeding, pleading for help; he turned his back on her and left her to die. That night, Cora disappeared. Some months Later. She returned. But she didn't return as the weak girl they discarded. And she didn't return alone. Cora’s POV "She must tell me who got her pregnant!" That was the first thing I heard as I woke up. My eyes opened slowly. The pale hospital lights in the ward were way too bright for me. My tongue felt dry, and my head was pounding heavily. "She’s awake," Vanessa, my so-called sister, sat up and called to my father and stepmother in her shrill voice. She could hardly hold back the menacing smile. My father turned to look at me, cold and seething. “Who was he? Who got you pregnant?" I watched the flame of anger and disgust burning in his eyes. He didn’t bother to ask what happened, he didn’t care how I felt; he just felt ashamed of having a daughter like me. As he always does. My lips trembled when I tried to form an answer. Yet the words coming out of my mouth could hardly form a sentence. “I didn’t… I don’t know… Father looked at me impatiently, and I stammered on. “It was the club… Vanessa left me with—” “What?!” Vanessa stood up screaming, “I have nothing to do with this! Dad! You can’t believe her!” I gripped my cover tight as if it could shield me from further attack. “Please, dad, I’m not lying!” I pleaded. “It’s Vanessa! She drugged me!” “You are lying!” She leaped forward and clawed my face. My cheek was burning with pain, while she pretended to cry, “ “How dare you blame it on me!” Vanessa choked out, pretending to cry. “You begged me to take you to the club, I thought you wanted to bond with me!” Tears ran down her face, and I looked at her performance in shock. “No… That’s not what happened...” "You ran away with some random guy. I tried to stop you!" She lied on. “No! That’s not true!” I sat up on the bed, trying to clutch my father’s sleeve, but he smacked me hard across my cheek. I almost fell out of bed when tears of pain poured out of my eyes. I looked up at him in despair. Of course, he believed her. He always does. "What kind of filth have you become?" my father roared, "You snuck out like a whore. Slept with some stranger. Got yourself pregnant. And now you’re blaming your sister?" "No, Dad!" I cried. "It was Vanessa who tried to arrange some rogues to rape—" "Shut up you lying bitch," My stepmother yelled. Her eyes were red with anger. "You’re lying in a hospital bed, pregnant with a bastard. Vanessa was so worried for you when we received the call from the doctor, how could you say this about her?!” I looked at each and every one of them. There was anger, disgust, condescension, but not a single trace of care. "You're just like your mother. A whore! You should have just died with her that day!" "I’m sorry…" I sobbed. My father's words stabbed through my chest. I wanted to disappear. I knew my dad hated me so much because he was forced to marry my mother when she got pregnant for him. But I never knew he hated me to the point of him wishing I was dead. "You listen to me," he said darkly. "You’ll find the man who did this to you. You’ll fix it quietly. No one must know. Do you understand?" "I can't remember who it was…" "Then figure it out!" he barked. "The Alpha is having a dinner party tonight. All members of the pack are invited. You should find him there." "I brought your clothes just in case." Vivienne scoffed as she threw a bag at me. "Get dressed," Father commanded. "You're following us. Now!" --- The Alpha’s mansion was everything you’d expect—huge, golden, full of wolves with fake smiles and power in their blood. I stepped in, feeling left out. I had just one mission. To find the man who got me pregnant. Suddenly, I felt a strange pull making my wolf stir inside me. My mate was here. I turned slowly to see who it was and my heart stopped when I saw him. I could recognize him instantly. The man from that night. The one I'd slept with. The one I was pregnant for. Hope bloomed inside me. The Moon Goddess had mated me to him. My heart jumped. He was really the one. I straightened my posture, and brushed my fingers through my hair. I quickly smoothed out the wrinkles from my dress trying not to look like a complete mess. My eyes found him again, only to realise that he wasn't alone. He was surrounded by many ladies who were laughing at what he had just said. One even leaned in and whispered something in his ears. Then his eyes met mine. I froze. Different emotions flashed through his gaze. And then he began to move towards me, ignoring the ladies calling out to him. I swallowed hard. Nervousness filling my bones to the core.CHAPTER 94A knock wαs thrown on Alphα Tobiαs's office door."Come on in."It wαs Vivienne. She entered his office with her heαd held high. CHAPTER 93 (Fifteen hours before Alpha Tobias’s death)Alpha Tobias sat behind his desk. His hands rested on an old leather file. He looked up when the door creáked open.“Alpha Tobias‚” a soft voice said.An old man walked in. His beard was grey‚ ánd his face was wrinkled.“Hey‚” Tobias said. “It’s been a long time.”“Yes Alpha.”Tobias pointed to the chair ácross from him. “Sit. Why are you here after all these years?”The old man sat down. His hánds were shaking slightly ás he pulled out a folded note from his coat pocket.“I came to tell you the truth‚” the old man sáid. “The truth about your late wife‚ Evangeline.”Tobias’s eyes turned cold. “Don’t mention her name.”“I know. But I can’t keep quiet anymore. I was afraid. That’s why I didn’t speak before.”“Go on‚” Tobias said. The old man took a deep breath. “The night Luna Evangeline died... it wasn’t Adam’s fault.”Tobias frowned‚ his voice low. “What?”“Adam didn’t remove the warriors from patrol. He didn’t betray you. He did
CHAPTER 92CORA'S POVIt was the sound of Kaden’s phone buzzing that woke us up. I groaned and buried my face in his bare chest while He reached out with one hand. His voice still heavy with sleep.“Hello?”There was a pause. Then His whole body tensed.“What is it?” I asked as I sat up up slowly.Kaden was already sitting upright while He rubbed His face. “It’s Ronan. He said... the servant who poisoned my father has been caught.”My heart skipped. “What?!”He stood up from the bed immediately. “We have to go. Now.”We dressed as fast as we could. I grabbed a jacket , not even bothering to fix my messy hair. Kaden looked tense as He threw on a shirt and jeans. His jaw was tight. The car ride to the pack dungeon was silent well except for my heart pounding in my ears. When we arrived‚ Ronan was waiting outside with two guards. He nodded as soon as He saw us.“She’s in there" he said. “Tied. Refused to speak. But... she’s scared.”Kaden didn’t say a word. He just pushed the door open a
CHAPTER 91CORA'S POVHis mouth was like fire.Every of his kiss was like he was trying to brand me. Like he was trying to mark me. Not just as his But as someone he needed. Desperately needed. And Goddess. I needed him just as bad. The way He looked at me felt like I was something precious and as if I was dangerous too. My Heart was pounding. My skin was burning. His hands slid down my sides slowly as if He was trying to memorize me. Goosebumps rose all over me.He kissed my neck. Dragged his lips along my throat. Then lower. His mouth found my collarbone. He sucked gently while I arched toward him.“You feel so damn good” He muttered hungrily.I could barely breathe. My fingers dug into His hair while he moved down. His tongue left a wet trail across my Chest. I whimpered as his mouth found my Nipple. He took it between His lips and sucked it hard. I gasped out loud.“Kaden...”He groaned. He lifted His head and looked at me. His eyes were dark and filled with intense hunger For me.
CHAPTER 90 CORA'S POVI was curled up on the couch in the living room‚ reading a book when I heard the front door open and close quietly. My heart did a little flip as if it already knew who it was. Kaden. And then‚ just like that... he was behind me.His warm arms was wrapped around my waist, pulling me up gently and against his Firm chest, making my breath catch. I felt the softest Kiss press at the back of my neck making me shiver.“You’re home” I whispered‚ smiling as I tilted my head to look at him.His face broke into that stupidly handsome grin—the one that always made my heart flutter. There was something different about him as he came back. He looked… happy. Genuinely happy. It made my chest bloom with a quiet‚ aching tenderness.“Hi baby..." he murmured as he pressed a kiss to my temple.I turned in His arms to face him as I wrapped mine around his neck. “Okay you need to tell me what’s going on. You’re smiling like you just inherited a kingdom or something.”He chuckled
CHAPTER 89 KADEN'S POVWhen I arrived at my father’s mansion, Kieran was already there. He was seated stiffly on one of the long wooden chairs‚ his back was straight and his jaw was tight—as if he was trying not to lose control.Three of the pack elders were standing at a corner in the room‚ murmuring quietly to one another. And seated in the center was Mr. Maddox. He was the pack’s lawyer. He looked just like I remembered. His eyes were watching everything‚ making it feel like he already knew what was about to happen. When I stepped inside‚ everywhere became quiet.“Kaden” Elder Silas called. “How are you holding up?”I took a breath. “As well as anyone who just buried their father could be.”Mr. Maddox gave me a small smile. “I'm happy to see you again Kaden. Your father was proud of you. Even after all these years. He never stopped believing you would come back to him.”Kieran scoffed.I looked at him but I said nothing.“Let us begin" Mr. Maddox said. He opened his briefcase and
