Chapter 7 - The showdown.

It was the strangest thing! The rogues simply disappeared as though they were never there! I walked through what used to be their town and it was a complete ghost town. I was half expecting one of them to jump out at us at some point or some trap, but they were gone.

From the state of their town, they left in a hurry. Furniture was strewn all over the place. I found a cupboard still filled with food that had gone off. It had been two months since the last attack and nobody had seen a single rogue since then. Since it was so unbelievable, the king instructed me to check it out myself. I met up with my warriors in the square before returning home.

I wasn’t sure how the king was going to take the news, and I wasn’t looking forward to telling him. The rogues were gone. The war was over.
