로그인ANYA'S POV
It’s been three days since I was bought by Alpha Rolan and I’ve soon come to realize that he said I was his prisoner, and meant every word of it. I wasn’t allowed to leave the four walls of the spacious room. The security on me was so tight that there were guards standing at my door 24/7. The room that I had once loved the first night I came here was now my beautiful prison. A prison I would give anything now to step out of. But on the bright side, I was well fed and had so many new clothes that I don’t think I would ever have to repeat a dress for a month. Every luxury possible I couldn’t have at Silverfang pack were now mine for the taking, but I still wanted more. And right now, more was getting to leave this damned room! The sound of boots hard on the solid floor escaped the wooden barrier called door. And the knob twisted before it gently pushed open but I didn’t turn my gaze from the window. I already knew who it was even before the key was put into the lock. Alpha Rolan’s footsteps grew louder with each step he took towards me and the scent of his icy perfume filled the air. How could someone smell so good? But I was too angry to let my mind linger on how amazing he smells. He stopped beside me, his presence giving a warmth that made goosebumps litter across my skin. “It’s beautiful isn’t it?” he tipped his head to the window. With my eyes still fixed at the garden. The early moon cast her ethereal light over the beds of roses, giving them a shimmering blue glow that tugged in the strings of my heart. “It is,” I spoke in a low voice, hoping it doesn’t give a single emotion away. “It’s a shame I can’t go see it, though.” “I know what you’re doing. And it wouldn’t work, bastard.” Anger bubbled within me at how easily he dismissed me and for the first time since he came in, I turned to face him. Only to wish I hadn’t made such a stupid mistake. I didn’t realize how close we were standing till my nose brushed his chest. I tipped my head back and glared at his face. Why was he so tall anyways? His face grew smug when he noticed how difficult it was for me to look at him and my anger only grew. “I’d like to go outside. To the garden.” “No.” “Why?” “Because I said so.” “That’s not a good enough reason.” “It is for me.” “Well, it isn’t for me.” “That’s on you then.” “You have no right to keep me here.” “I have every right to keep you in this place. And do you know why that is?” His eyes grew heavy with an emotion I couldn’t place in my mind. He took a step closer. I took a step back and just when I thought he was about to take another step closer, he grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me closer till there was no space between us. “Because I own you. In fact I have fifty thousand rights to keep you here, considering I bought you in front of everyone from your bitch of a stepmother. So I can do whatever I want with you.” He let go of my hand at once and walked to the door without sparing me a second glance. I turned and walked till I fell unto the bed, sobbing bitterly into the beautiful bedcovers. ~ My heart pounded against its ribcage and my footsteps made thuds against the ground as I ran from a creature I knew nothing of. Insects stung my skin and the smell of blood tainted the air but I didn’t stop running. Until the very insects that stung me began to crawl out of my mouth. And then the creature caught up to me. ~ “No!” A scream pierced the air as I perked off the bed. Labored breaths fell from my lips and my eyes landed on the sweat soaked bed covers and pillows, my hair stuck to my neck. “It’s just a dream. It’s just a dream,” I whispered to myself in what I could only imagine to be a soothing voice, me heart rate slowing. “What were you dreaming about?” I screamed into the darkness and threw a pillow at the intruder, only to meet the piercing gaze of Rolan. “What are you doing here? And why are you watching me sleep?” “I’m not watching you sleep.” “So then why are you here?!” Anger and fear slipped into my voice and for a second I thought I saw his eyes softened but it was gone before It was even there and a wicked look appeared in his eyes. “What does it look like? I’m here to claim my mate.” “What? What are you talking about?” “You know what I’m talking about?” “I didn’t ask to be claimed by you,” I pushed myself closer to the bed and drew the covers closer to my chest, hoping that maybe this was just some sick joke of his. But it wasn’t. Because a devilish smirk appeared on his face and the air grew thick with tension. “I don’t have to ask for your permission.” That was the only warning I got before he pounced on the bed and pinned me under him. “Let go of me!” I struggled. His grip on my hands tightened and he began ripping at my night gown. His eyes were a bright red and tears streamed down my face. “Stop, please! I’m begging you!” He didn’t stop. His free hand fondled my breasts and a scream tore through me as he abused my body. “Help! Someone!” I screamed my lungs out. But no one came to help. Not the servants whose quarters were close by. Not guards who I bet stood outside, hearing him take advantage of me. No one could help me because they were all terrified of him. And I couldn’t blame them. He terrified me as well. It didn't stop me from hating them all though. But not as much as I hate him.ROLAN'S POV I had always known betrayal would come from inside. It was never the outsiders I worried about. Enemies who screamed my name and threatened my borders were easy to crush. Predictable. Loud. Stupid. But the quiet ones? The ones who bowed with perfect posture and spoke with honey in their mouths? Those were the ones who made my fingers itch for blood. So when Curtis came into my office that morning, face stiff and jaw locked, I knew something was wrong. My beta rarely looked shaken. He was the calmest wolf in my entire pack… almost too calm sometimes. “Alpha,” he said quietly, closing the door behind him. I raised my head. “What is it? You look like you swallowed a blade.” He stepped forward, placed a folded parchment on my desk, and didn’t speak for several seconds. That was my first warning sign. He always spoke quickly when it concerned security. “Speak,” I said. He exhaled slowly. “We found something disturbing. You need to see it yourself.” I opened
ANYA’S POV He wants me to…For a moment, Curtis didn’t answer my question. He simply stared at me like he was trying to decide the best way to break something delicate. Then he clicked his tongue softly and leaned forward again.“What do I want?” he repeated with a smirk. “I want you, Anya. As my mate.”My heart stopped.“What?”He nodded slowly, as if he had just told me something normal and not something insane. “I want you as mine.”A harsh breath escaped me. “You… you can’t be serious.”“I’ve never been more serious,” he said. “You think I’m here because I enjoy feeding sick girls and taking temperatures? No. I’m here because I see something Rolan doesn’t.”“And what is that?” I whispered.Curtis lifted one finger and pointed it at me.“You.”I shook my head vigorously. “You’re Rolan’s beta. His second-in-command. How can you talk like this? Aren’t you supposed to be loyal to him?”Curtis laughed. Not loudly. Not cheerfully. It was a sharp, humorless sound that scraped against t
ANYA’S POV He brought me food, medicine… and fearI woke up to the sound of something metal scraping against stone. For a moment, I honestly thought I was dreaming… or that I was still lying half-frozen in the Silverfang woods with thunder roaring over my head. But when my eyes finally focused, I remembered exactly where I was… the cold dim room Rolan had locked me in after dragging me to Bloodfrost like some… cursed relic. My entire body ached. My throat burned. My skin felt hot and cold at the same time. I pushed myself into a sitting position, slowly, carefully, like a very old woman. Then the door creaked open.I stiffened immediately.Footsteps entered my room… calm, slow, almost casual… and a man set a silver tray on the small wooden table beside my bed. The scent of warm broth drifted toward me, mixing with the cold air of the room. There was also a small wooden box and a cup filled with something that steamed faintly. He didn’t look at me at first. He simply adjusted the tr
ROLAN'S POV Her hips swayed to an invisible melody and the wind ruffled her hair making her look like the most ethereal being in the world. Everything about her was heavenly. From her pale skin. To her luscious raven colored hair. To her violet eyes. Everything about her is unreal. And I will own every last piece of her. “Rolan!” Curtis yelled into my ear and I jerked in my seat, causing me to tip over the glass of water on my desk. The glass shattered against the floor and Curtis’ heated glare was still trained on me. “What the fuck do you want, Curtis?” I threw him a glare of my own, no way I’m I going to get disrespected in my own damn off even if it was by my Beta who I sometimes saw as a friend. “Oh I’m sorry. I only want to know why the Alpha was lost in a daze while his Beta was discussing a very important topic. What the hell is going on, Rolan?” “There’s nothing going on.” “Don’t give me that crap, Rolan. You were distracted during a meeting. You’re

ANYA’S POV The celebration was over. And it was time to go home. To Alpha Rolan’s home. It wouldn’t be a home for me, I thought. Just a place where I would now be forced to be made his. The car ride back to Frost-ridge, the famous capital of his vast kingdom was silent other than our combined breaths and the sound of my thoughts rampaging in my head. What would my life be like in a Bloodfrost pack? Would I finally get to have peace? Is this just the calm before the storm? Would Alpha Rolan want to put his mark on me? If he tried to mark me then he would die for it. Even if I don’t believe a single word that Elda said about me. I couldn’t help but have doubts about me actually being cursed. I can’t put his life at risk, I thought. Besides, I’m not sure I’m even ready to be someone’s mate yet. But I can’t risk getting killed the second I mention it. So I’ll keep quiet and wait to see how this plays out. The car soon came to a halt and it was only then that I reali
