Chapter 27- Stuck Between Two Kings

Kenji’s POV

I seat myself at Luna Aiyana’s desk and wait for Jamari to make her way to me. Ren is pacing in my head making my human half anxious. Getting up, I turn to look out the window behind the Luna’s desk.

Maybe some breathing exercises can help calm me and Ren. Slowly, I take a deep breath in for four seconds, hold for four seconds, release for four seconds, hold for four more seconds. By the end I can feel myself loosening up.

That is until I hear the Luna’s office door opening and the smell of roses and chocolate invades my senses. I feel my body tense up as her scent swirls around me. Ren begins prancing in my mind. ‘Mate. Mate. Mate.’

I turn to face her, inhaling slowly to calm my nervousness. Ren sighs heavily and lays down in submission to our beautiful mate. “Jamari.” I say in a sigh. I make a move to go near her, but she puts up a hand to halt my progress.
