Chapter 6: Taste Of A Different Medicine.

Cheryl’s point of view

Mom and my new stepfather doesn’t need to know the reason why I’ve skipped school for two days in a row and refuse to join them downstairs for any sort of family meal.

Though I could have, because ever since he did what he did. He hasn’t stepped foot in this house for the past four days now. Yup that’s right, he skipped his father’s wedding.

I also did. I mean it was a court wedding, and there wasn’t a need for me to attend. Albeit I was wanted there, and I had to use my shitty break as an excuse to skip. But they at least knew about my whereabouts. I don’t know about Noel’s.

I didn’t bother to ask or was even curious enough to want to know his whereabouts. And quite honestly, I’ve silently prayed to the universe over the past few days that he got hit by a bus and landed in a coma or something. Yeah we’ve gotten to that point.

He ruined my life. Why? For the sake of his sick demented amusement. He isn’t just a jerk. He’s the ultimate jerk of all jerks.

My reputation wasn’t just stained on Wednesday night. It was ruined, smeared into pieces. Whatever I use to be in the eyes of everyone got destroyed, I was now collectively the new face of the school’s slut.

Noel thinks he’s won. And if I’m being candid, he did win. Just not for long.

He took away my best friend, and managed to spread a false narrative about me throughout the school. That was brilliant, he went ahead and above.

He crossed many lines, and since he chose to go ten feet below. I guess it’s only fair I took mine to hell.

I skipped school on Thursday and Friday straight, but not today. Today is the day he realize he hasn’t won.

Today is Monday, the perfect day for a dead bitch to come back alive.

I arrived downstairs and my mom lit up the moment she saw me. She’s been shut off since Wednesday’s night and she spent most days worrying and concerned about what happened to me.

She and her husband did everything they could to get me to talk to them, but I wouldn’t. They’re aware that Noel and I aren’t the best of friends, and that’s just all they know.

“Honey how are you? You look so beautiful,” she remarked with a bright smile on her face. “Sara just dropped by. I guess there’s no need for me to send her off since you look ready for school. I’m glad you’re fine now.”

“Sara is here?” Slow rage seeped into my features as I raised my brows at mom.

“Yeah she’s packed outside. I was about to go send her off when you came downstairs,” she answered, confused and suspicious of my reaction. “Is there anything going on between you and Sara?” She squinted at me.

“No. And I’m late already! Bye!” I told her as I grabbed a packaged sandwich off the counter and ran out of the house.

I got outside and Sara’s car was truly parked waiting for me.

I don’t care. I’ve gotten a new ride already. And talk about the perfect timing. He pulled up just in front of Sara.

“Hey Nick” I greeted with the friendliest smile I could muster as I opened the door up for myself to get in.

“I hate you. I hate you so much!” He didn’t even spare me a glance as he began to drive the car.

I checked through the mirror to see Sara still parked, probably shocked as to why Nicholas Henderson would drive up to my house so he could give me a ride to school.

Nicholas Henderson is one of Noel’s best friend, though I doubt he still would be by the end of today.

Nick hates me because he wasn’t doing this out of the goodness of his own heart. He’s got a secret I happened to stumble upon awhile back.

For me I never cared about that secret until Noel crossed the line. Now I’m willing to be a bigger devil than he was.

He took away my best friend. I wouldn’t just take away his, I’ll leave them traumatized like he has me.

“You need a smile on your face Nick, and you should honestly consider this a favor. I mean it kind of is, don’t you think?” I thought to press for a conversation, we’ll be in school soon and I need to be sure he’s on the same page with me.

“You’re just as disgustingly evil as Noel. Out of four people, why was I the one you picked to drag into whatever madness the both of you are involved in huh? I’ll never forgive you for this!”

I smirked. “Don’t sweat it darling. I’m only helping you and you’re doing the same. You asked why I picked you, it’s because you’ve got the juiciest secret of all. And if anyone is to blame here, it’s your asshole best friend. He crossed the line, and now I’m going to give him a taste of a different medicine and you’re going to help me.”

“Now smile. It’s show time.”

He didn’t smile, but when I slipped my arm around his. He flinched and adjusted. Good boy!

I know I’ve been the topic of gossip since that party. Now I won’t just remain the topic, somebody else has joined me up there, namely Nicholas Henderson.

Just like we planned, he placed a peck on my forehead and walked off the moment he successfully escorted me to my locker.

I looked down at the hallway to see the many faces digging stare-holes at me. Exactly what I want.

I opened up my locker, and was putting in my textbook when the cheap sound of heels clanked closer and closer. I know that walk and who it belongs to.

I slammed my locker door closed, pissed that the first person I’d have to deal with has to be motherfucking Jenna.

What a fucking peasant. And to my delight, she has her usual cup of expresso stuck in her palm to delicately sip out of.

“Bold of you to return and not fade out of existence like I thought you would.” She glared at me, her minions doing the same.

I cracked a smile. “And bold of you to show me your face first thing after my return knowing damn well I promised you a payback for what you did to me at your party.”

Without warning, I snatched her cup of coffee out of her hand and before she could make a reaction. I opened it and emptied the cup on her head to run down her face and clothes.

“You bitch!” She screeched.

“Oh I haven’t even started yet,” I whispered, sashaying out of her sight.

Chapter 5: Too Far or Too Deep?Noel’s POV You’d think I feel good with everything I did to Freak tonight at the party, but I don’t. I mean I was feeling good until the statement she made before leaving. “Whatever we have going on was always suppose to be between us. Between the both of us only. You didn’t have to make my best friend betray me….” Those words repeatedly stalked my mind. Did I really went too far with tonight? I thought this was our game, to destroy each other. Or maybe she just said that to me so I wouldn’t think about how she got defeated and rather be caught up in a strange trap of guilt. I could’ve truly made her best friend betrayed her like she claimed but I did not. All I did was made her escort me to a party for the sake of the video that was made of us. Sara doesn’t know anything about the video. Only I do. Sara once had a crush on me and thought she’d try her luck. She sent me a box with my favorite chocolate candies, and a letter professing her love.I

  • Rival Stepbrother Shouldn’t Know How You Taste    Chapter 4

Chapter 4 Cheryl’s point of view It was past eight already by the time I arrived at the party. I ran late because I wanted to attend this party with Sara who practically disappeared after school. She wouldn’t reply my texts or pick any of my calls. It’s like we got into a fight and I’m been tuned out.I had to come down here alone and without a date. Told myself there’s a reasonable reason to why she vanished and she’ll tell me all about it tomorrow at school. Goosebumps creeped into my skin as I walked through the bodies gathered around the house’s porch. Scattered around and chattering the night away with a cup probably an alcoholic beverage caught in their hands. My head was peaked and peeping around in glimpse of Noel. My all smart counter plan to humiliate him tonight was to dump a drink on him and accuse him of infecting me with a sexually transmitted disease, preferably chlamydia. I was still moving my head around without any straight focus on my surroundings when someone

Chapter 3 Cheryl’s point of view It’s finally lunch break and my eyes scouted round the cafeteria for a familiar face before Sara and I settled down at our usual table close to a corner with our tray of lunch. “Who are you looking for?” Sara asked as she grabbed her juice bottle to open up. I haven’t told her yet about the guy who came up to me with an envelope and the stunt Noel pulled on him afterwards. The guy wanted back his envelope, but I told him I won’t be giving it back until I’ve read what’s written inside. So I told him to come take it back by lunch and now I’m eye searching for him. I don’t think he’s around. Thank God, because I haven’t read the letter yet. I brought out the envelope from inside my bag. “What’s that?” Sara asked the moment she saw it. “I was gonna skip maths class this morning, then some kid came up to me and gave this to me.” I showed her the enveloped. “I’m about to check out what’s written inside. Because tell me why Noel was beating up the kid

Chapter 2Noel’s POVCheryl Jones. I’d describe her, but I’ll need more advanced wording for the bane of my existence because that’s who she is.A stuck up vindictive redhead.Ever since what happened in freshman year, she’d become the goddess of spite and I’d be damned to rule for her mercy.“Is she coming?” I questioned when Dan arrived in our midst.“She’s now invited, but I doubt she’ll show up since you aren’t hosting,” Dan responded as he went to take his spot beside Finn. We’re five in number and we’re all best buddies. We’ve been like that for as long as I can remember.Jace was the last to join us, and that’s because he didn’t show up until the first year of middle school.“What’s your plan for her now?” Nick quizzed with curiosity that had others peaking their gazes at me.“Get her high and naked? That’d be so fun and the ultimate comeback!” Finn added, his idea as outrageous as his entire personality.“You guys have been at it for so long now. I’m starting to think you both

  • Rival Stepbrother Shouldn’t Know How You Taste    Chapter 1

Chapter 1Cheryl’s point of viewIt’s official. There’s something new I despise more than waking up early. You’d think it was an event or something random. But it's far from that. It’s more of a who than a what. It’s one human! A prick!“Would you quit stabbing him with your eyes?!” Sara nudged me out of focus.I huffed. “Only if it’s legal to do it with my bare hands now,” I retorted, finally breaking contact with the asshole.Sara chuckled, “Remind me again how the rivalry started?”I gasped before settling my full attention on my best friend whose brain has chosen to forget my most sensitive experience.“He bet on me, Sara! He gambled with my worth and as if that isn’t enough, he’s also about to become my fucking stepbrother!” I slammed my locker door closed with a strong force. I’d let the imagination that it was his head consume me.“Wasn’t that two years ago? You’ve hated him since freshman year? It’s Junior year already, it’s time to let go and you both are becoming a family…”
