Kyle POV

“Kyle?“

I looked up.

Champ stood at the top of the stairs, one hand on the railing, his hair was always messy, his eyes lighting up the second he saw me. His whole face shifted like he had been waiting for this exact moment all evening.

I didn’t even get a chance to say hi.

Champ practically flew down the stairs.

He reached me in seconds, immediately grabbing my wrist like he was claiming me from the world.

“Come upstairs,” he said not even asking me, he just decided and tugged me with him.

Before I could blink, he was pulling me into his room and shutting the door softly behind us.

Then he turned to me.

And everything hit at once.

Champ stepped close, cupped my jaw without hesitation, and kissed me deeply like he was eager to taste my lips. His other hand slid over my shoulders, tugging off my jacket like he was annoyed at it for existing.

The kiss broke only because I needed to breathe.

He grinned, his eyes hal lidded, his thumb brushed my cheekbone.

“I missed you,” he murm

Ethan POVRyan came out of the rehab center squinting like the sun personally offended him.The moment I saw him push through the doors, my shoulders relaxed without my permission. He scanned the parking lot once, spotted me, and smiled like he always did — like the world was manageable again.I unlocked the door before he even reached it.He climbed in, dropped his bag dramatically, and exhaled. “I deserve food. Like… immediately.”I smirked, pulling the car out of the lot. “You always deserve food.”“And,” he added, pointing at me, “I’m treating.”I glanced at him. “You sure?”“Yes,” he said confidently. “I survived rehab. That earns me lunch privileges.”I didn’t argue. I just drove.I didn’t take him anywhere fancy. I took him to the restaurant I always went to when I was down. The workers there should had known me by now.Ryan eyed the place as we parked. “This looks suspicious.”“It’s good,” I said. “Trust me.”He followed me inside anyway. The place wasn’t crowded. A few people

Ryan POVMy phone buzzed. I didn’t even need to check it. I knew it was Ethan. ~ Ethan: Outside.I scoffed. “Outside,” I repeated. “Romantic.”Still, I was already on my feet.I grabbed my phone, slipped into my sneakers, and did a quick mirror check because yes, I had dignity and standards.“You look fine,” I told myself. “Stop acting like he hasn’t already seen you at your worst.”I walked out of my room and nearly crashed into Mum.She leaned against the wall with that smug, victorious smile again.“He’s here.”“That wasn’t a question,” I muttered. She nodded. “Good. Don’t make him wait.”“I won’t.”I took two steps, then she added, “And Ryan?”I sighed. “What now.”She grinned. “Tell him I said hi.”I pretended I didn’t hear that and escaped outside.Ethan’s car was parked where he always parked his bike. He brought a car this time, and was sitting inside, with it’s window rolled down, and his arm resting on the door. The moment he saw me, he smiled.“About time,” he said.“Relax

Kyle POVGetting out of my house that evening felt like trying to escape gravity. The moment I headed for the door with my jacket in hand, my mom’s voice cut through the hallway like a razor.“Absolutely not, Kyle. You are not leaving this house at this hour.”I closed my eyes briefly. Here we go again.“Mom, it’s barely eight,” I said, keeping my voice calm. “I’m just going to Champ’s house, I need to—”“That’s exactly the problem!” she snapped. “You’ve been going to his place too much and you need to set up boundaries and space. And besides it’s late. If his mum was sensible she wouldn't let a stranger home this late!”Before I could respond, Kayla appeared at the top of the stairs, her hair packed in a messy bun, wearing her usual oversized hoodie.“Mom’s right,” she said, rubbing her arms. “It is late. And you literally just got home, why didn't you guys discuss it earlier when you met him. And even if, can’t you see him tomorrow?”“I already told him I would come,” I replied. “An

Champ POVThe door closed behind Kyle, and the house instantly felt too quiet. For a moment, I just stood there in the entryway, staring at the empty space where he had been standing. The warmth of his last kiss still lingered on my cheek, and I felt stupidly aware of it.Then —“So… I’m supposed to pretend I didn’t see all of that?”My mom’s voice came from the living room.I turned and she was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, wearing a smirk that was way too satisfied for my sanity.I dragged a hand down my face. “Mom, no. Don’t start, please.”She stepped forward, teasing in full force.“I mean, I walk into your room and you two looked one second away from cuddling into a coma. You think I’m not gonna say something?”“Mom—”She laughed. “Relax. I’m not judging you big boy. Actually… I’m just glad to see that you are this happy.”I stopped. My heartbeat actually stuttered. She softened, touching my arm lightly. “It’s been a long time, Champ. You deserve something good

Kyle POVThe first thing I felt was warmth all around me.I stretched a little, my muscles pulling in a slow morning way, and I turned to my side. The sun was leaking through the curtains, a thin slice of bright light landing directly across my eyes. My eyelids twitched at the sting, opening reluctantly. And the first thing I saw… was him.Champ was already awake. He was lying on his side, with one arm tucked under his head, the other draped lightly over his waist as he stared at me with the softest, stupidest morning smile I had ever seen. His hair was messy, sticking up at all angles, and his eyes were half hooded, but God, he looked unfairly attractive.“Good morning,” he whispered, his voice still thick with sleep.I swallowed, stretching again. “Good morning.”Before I could say anything else, he tugged me into him as if he had been waiting for me to move. His arms wrapped fully around my torso, holding me against his chest like I was a giant pillow he refused to give up.“Champ…
