"Here are your medicines," Fleur said as she gave the glass of water to her uncle who obediently took the medicines.

"Fleur, sit here I want to talk to you." He said making her frown. She silently took a seat in front of him staring at him with a frown.

"Last time when Ken came to meet me. He gave me a proposal." Fleur shifted uncomfortably as she knew where this conversation was going.

Ken liked her a lot and he had proposed to her once as well but Fleur never felt the same and politely refused him. She knew Ken was far better financially as compared to them and could provide her a better life but she just couldn't get herself to like him.

"Uncle." Her uncle held his hand up.

"I know Fleur you don't feel the same as him. But look at me. There is no guarantee for my life. I might die the next second."

"Uncle." She said looking at him with sad eyes making him chuckle.

"That's the truth, Fleur. And I want to secure your future before leaving you. Kai is a man he can take care of himself but you're a girl my daughter. A fragile and naive girl and Kai can't protect you for long after all one day he will find his partner as well. That's why before going away I want to secure your future with a man that I can trust. And I also talked with Kai he also likes Ken." Fleur looked down thinking about her uncle's words.

"Ken sincerely likes you and he's even willing to marry you. Think about it." Fleur gulped nodding her head.

The next day she spent avoiding Gabriel and focusing on her work. But the words her uncle said to her kept on ringing in her head. She thought about Ken and then without her realization, she started comparing Gabriel and Ken.

Even though Gabriel's physique and looks were far stronger than Ken's but when it comes to the sincerity of liking her. Ken won. Ken liked her, he expressed it, he respected her boundaries, and never forced his decisions on her, he even proposed to marry her when he could simply take an advantage of her just like Gabriel but he didn't.

Gabriel on the other side wasn't ready to express what he feels for her, he initiated the intimacy yet he didn't even utter one word of affection to her. No commitment, no boundaries, no sense of protection. All she felt in his case was a desire.

She might like Gabriel more than Ken but she knew well what to choose for her. After all, Gabriel has to leave the village soon. There was no future for them. Making up her mind she went to her uncle and decided to dig the attraction she had raised for Gabriel in her heart.

"Uncle." Her uncle smiled at her making her reciprocate it.

"I agree. I will marry Ken. I have no problem." She finally let out making her uncle smile widely.

"You made the right decision my daughter. I will tell Ken tomorrow. And we will arrange your marriage as soon as possible." Fleur smiled at him nodding her head.

Her uncle started chatting with her oblivious of the ragging wolf outside of the house who felt like someone has ripped his heart out. He closed his eyes gritting his teeth when suddenly a voice echoed in his head.

My Lord. Are you ok? Where are you?

His eyes snapped up when he heard his general's voice. He was able to mindlink finally. Just when he felt a wave of relief in his body another uncomfortable feeling started crawling over his chest.

If he told his general about his whereabouts they will find him till tomorrow. After that, he wouldn't be able to talk to Fleur and this fucking marriage! He needs to stop it. He needs to talk to her first.

Victor, I am fine. I am healing. My wolf needs some days to heal. So remember the kingdom is in your hands till I will return.

My Lord! Thank Goodness you're fine. We have been going crazy trying to find you.

I know, I will direct you when I will be ready to leave from here.

As you say, my Lord. I will be waiting for your next order.

He ended the mindlink and walked passed the house. He sighed heavily before ruffling his hair. What the fuck is wrong with him! He was never this desperate in any women's matter before then what's with him now?

What's that human girl ever done to him that all he can think about was her? He can't even accuse her of being a witch when he has a blood of a witch and no one in this world can do any magic on him.

He was standing near the valley when suddenly he heard footsteps. Turning around he found Fleur staring at him with a bucket in her hand. She must have come here to wash clothes. Just when she was ready to run back he in a second was behind her clutching her wrist.

"Fleur." Hearing her name on his lips always makes her nervous. She turned her head to him meeting his sharp grey eyes.

"L-Let go." She said trying to push him but poor her he wasn't just any man. He was a powerful werewolf. Way stronger than her.

"Fleur, why are you avoiding me? I want to talk to you." He said gently pulling her in front of him and making her stand right before him.

"There is nothing to talk about." She replied staring at the grass and clutching the bucket in her hand.

"Don't you like me? That night." Before he could say further anything she interrupted him.

"That was a mistake." His words got caught in his throat as he stared at her in shock.

"There is nothing between us. And yeah I don't like you." After all, what's the point of liking you when you're going to leave me in the end? She thought but didn't voice out.

Gabriel stared at her in silence. "So you feel nothing for me." He questioned making her gulp down.

"Yes, I feel nothing for you." She said before trying to run away but he again grabbed her wrist.

"So you like that Ken. Huh?" He mumbled through his clenched teeth. Fleur wanted to deny but she knew it will be better to let him think this way. In this way, she could at least make him understand that she doesn't like him.

"Yes." Saying that she snatched her wrist running away from the place.

Gabriel stared at the grass for the longest time in silence. Suddenly a small chuckle left his lips shaking his head. How foolish of him! He thought she might have liked him.

These women species no matter if they are human or werewolves. They can never change. Power is all they want. He is useless man in Fleur's eyes. An injured, homeless man who has no secure background. Why would she even like him?

Shaking his head he slapped his cheek. So damn foolish! He actually thought she was different than the women he knew. No! She's just like the rest. That night she just lost herself in a momentary desire that's it otherwise her final choice was always that bloody Ken.

Night arrived and sitting near the river he closed his eyes. Soon he mind-linked his general who responded to him right away.

Come and get me from *** village tomorrow.

Yes, my Lord.

His general didn't dare to question him further as he knew his king knew better. It was quite confusing to think why would he change his mind to go back to the kingdom this earlier than expected. But the king knew better.

Gabriel stared at the water in the river as a low and cold wind kept on making it dance to its tune. Gabriel did want to take Fleur with him. He was even ready to take Kai with them as he wanted her badly.

He knew he couldn't announce her as his queen after all she was a human. But he was ready to keep her in his protection and make her his world. He was ready to give her everything she wanted but all of his thoughts got destroyed after he came out of his imagination. And again he realized every woman is the same.

She doesn't deserve his kindness, his care, his respect. She deserves nothing from him. He knew the more he stayed near her he might end up hurting her and it wasn't like he didn't want to hurt her. He wanted to hurt her, torture her, make her cry tears of blood so badly. After all, because of her, he was hurting as well.

But he couldn't let anyone know that he was a werewolf. He couldn't reveal his identity otherwise he has to kill everyone here including her. So he simply decided to leave this place as soon as possible so he could continue with his life and forget about her.

The next day arrived and unfamiliar giant men arrived at the village. Kai frowned when he found an unfamiliar man looking at his house with a glare. Walking near the tall men he tapped his shoulder.

The man turned around making eye contact with confused Kai. "Hello, who are you? And why are staring at my house?" Kai questioned the man who seemed to freeze in his place.

The man's green eyes kept on staring down at the boy who wasn't much shorter than him. Kai's head reached the nose of the man as Kai was tall enough as well. The only man Kai was shorter than was Gabriel. Kai uncomfortably moved his eyes away from the man who kept on staring at him like a creep.

"Excuse me!" The green-eyed man finally blinked clearing his throat.

"We are here to --"

"Victor." Victor turned around and was about to kneel before his king but Gabriel was fast enough to hold his shoulder shaking his head.

"Don't. They don't know about us." Gabriel mind-linked him and Victor understood and nodded his head. He gestured to the men he brought with him who obliged him as well.

"Kai. This is my friend Victor. He finally found me. So I will like to take my leave now. Thank you so much for taking care of me." Gabriel said looking at Kai with a straight face who smiled at him.

"It's the alright man. I am glad to meet you." Kai said smiling at Gabriel who nodded his head coldly.

Kai turned his head to Victor and his smile fall off right away after seeing the creep again staring at him like he wants to rip him apart with his eyes. Kai gulped finally feeling crept out at the way Victor was staring at him.

"Victor," Gabriel said and Victor nodded his head. He pulled a pouch out of his pocket before stepping near Kai who looked at him in discomfort.

"This is a little compensation from my side. I hope you don't deny." Gabriel said pointing at the pouch in which gold coins were secured.

"There is no need for the---" Kai flinched when Victor grabbed his pale hand placing the heavy bag of coins on it.

Kai looked up into his eyes finding Victor purposely leaning his face closer to him. "No one denies us. Not even you." His heavy low raspy voice made Kai gulp in fear.

Kai was always a strong-minded and courageous man but right now this giant was scaring the shit out of him. His way of looking and talking was beyond Kai's understanding. He tried pulling his hand away from Victor who slowly pulled a small smirk over his lips staring at Kai.

"Let's go." Victor slowly let him go and stepped towards the carriage that he brought at Gabriel's command. They couldn't turn into werewolves in front of these people that's why Gabriel asked him to bring a carriage so they could go back to the kingdom.

Victor glanced at frowning Kai and shooting him a last smirk he started the carriage and left the place with Gabriel. Gabriel wanted to meet Fleur and bid goodbye to her but remembered all the things she said to him. And after seeing her real self all he was feeling in him for her was hatred nothing else.

Fleur stared at his carriage and felt a pang of pain against her chest. He didn't even care to glance back at her. She was foolish. So damn foolish to actually think he cared about her. Both unconsciously grew an immense disliking towards each other.

And that's how their journey's once again parted but for how long?
