CHAPTER 10

KRISTINA'S POV

"Please don't worry, Kristina. Everything will be alright. You can tell me whatever's bothering you," Nathan pleaded, giving me that intense gaze again that sent my heart racing.

As usual, he managed to calm me down easily. Even though he didn't look like the type to use such kind gestures, I appreciated it regardless.

As soon as he finished speaking, a loud noise erupted somewhere close by.

At first I assumed it was thunder, but then another voice joined in the cacophony, followed shortly afterwards by a second sound. It sounded like the wolves from earlier had come back to life and chased after Nathan and I.

I quickly grabbed Nathan's hand to prevent him from taking another step and we both ran in opposite directions while the pack followed close behind us.

"Go, go!" Nathan shouted at me and pulled me closer to himself. My hands immediately shot up to cling to his shirt in order not to lose him.

His strong legs propelled him forward and I ran desperately beside
