ログインTeddy’s POV
Melody fell into a fitful sleep in front of me, her soft snores interrupted by hiccups and tears throughout the night. ‘Jude, if you’re still here in the hospital; add Melody to a postpartum watch. I… I think her ptsd is back and I don’t want her being alone.’ ‘Fuck… yah, I’m still here. I’ll add a note to her file and let the doctor know too. Axel’s on his way with the girls before I leave for the night.’ ‘Thank you.’ Jude had quickly become a good friend to Melody and I after her and Axel started dating, almost like part of the family. It was good to see how much she also kept the Viking in line, giving him the dose of chaos mixed with discipline he needed. Once I was sure Melody was sound asleep I sighed and pulled out my phone, turning slightly on the bed so I didn’t disturb her, but was still touching her. “Walter, I would like you and Alvin to get in place a census for all wolves in North America. Whether they are Rogue, Lone, or Pack. We’ll be implementing a new law going forward and I want it written up and ready to go by next week.” I hit send on the text message, watching it go through and waiting to see when they opened it up. It didn’t take long before I saw three little bubbles pop up on the screen, pause, and then restart again. Ding! The message went through, my screen lighting up. We may need more time than that, Theodor. Doing something of that caliper would require extensive cooperation and coordination from every pack in with the alliance. We aren’t even done eradicating all of Black Haven and the remaining council yet.” Walter was right on the count; we had more than enough troubles on our hands already. “What is the soonest you think we can have everything wrapped up, especially if we do a coordinated attack on the remaining forces and allies?” It had worked the first time when we attacked Gary, surely it would work again. Ding! “If we took that approach; maybe three months, minimum. That is if we were to get help from Europe again.” That would work… We needed to cement our ties to them anyways, especially if we wanted their continued support for the future. “Do it. Have everything ready in three months.” Walter sent a thumbs up emoji indicating he was on it. I turned my phone to silent then and set it on the bedside table behind me, scooting closer to Melody and holding her again after that. Three months. Three months and hopefully we’ll have some sort of breakthrough with this bullshit. I brushed the hair from Melody’s face as I laid next to her in silence, kissing her forehead as I watched her sleep. In the morning, I was going to have a lot of work to do; but for now, I needed to stay with my wife and my child. ***** Melody’s POV “Meh! Meh!” Lucy called from the bassinet, her sounds of desperation making me jolt awake with a start. I gently extricated myself from Teddy’s embrace as I slipped out of the bed and over to her, picking her up and walking gently over to the chair in the corner. “Shhh… that’s it… Papa needs his sleep.” She settled onto me almost instantly, making me sigh in relief. Thank Goddess you’re a better eater than your brother. Felix had not wanted to latch correctly those first couple days, worrying us to the bone. But Lucy was a fighter for sure, her little mouth desperate for food. “Oh, you’re up!” Jude had pushed open the door then with a small clipboard and a bottle with her, a wry grin on her face. “I was coming to feed her again so you both could sleep longer.” She whispered under her breath, shooting Teddy a look on the bed. “How long were we out?” I hadn’t heard Lucy cry at all, which bothered me. “Ten hours so far. Enough for me to be back here at least. We’re kinda short staffed at the moment with some of the nurses being taken out by the Rogues.” At the mention of the Rogues, my vision swam a little as my eyes pricked with tears. “Fuck. Who fed her why I was asleep and you were gone?! Did she cry this whole time?!” I started to hyperventilate as Lucy nursed, my arms starting to go numb as I took in too much air. It felt like the room was spinning and someone was sitting on my chest. “Melody?!” Jude rushed forward then and took the baby as I leaned back in the chair, my sobs coming out muffled as I tried to stay quiet for Teddy. “Come on, hon; you’re safe and alright. We had nurses check on you every fifteen minutes while I was out. She didn’t cry, and she’s safe and fed and changed.” She laid her hand on my shoulder, making me flinch and her to pull her hand back quickly. “You’re in the hospital, Teddy got you out of Black Haven, you have two beautiful babies, and are a badass Queen.” She put her hand back as I tried to calm my breathing, the visions I was starting to see of Dominic and his whispered words in my head slowly dying down. “I-I don’t think I can do this.” I confided in Jude, my fears and anxiety getting the best for me. “I didn’t even hear my baby cry…” “Melody, it’s normal. You were tired, still low on blood, and just came out of surgery.” Jude started to rub small circles on my back while also holding the baby in her other hand, rocking back and forth to keep the baby happy. “No one is a super hero, and you’re doing just as good as any other mom.”Lucy’s POV“Twenty and I’ll cook for you.” I watched his eyes flick to surprise for a second and curiosity as well. Little did he know that it was actually a threat.“Twenty seconds then. What’s their number?” He pulled his phone out of his pocket and walked over to me, picking up the chain and wrapping it around the handle to the fridge.“Why did you do that?” I gave the chain a slight tug, seeing that the handle could easily be pulled off if I wanted to.“I don’t want ya lunging for the phone now; and we can’t very well have our food spoil because of you.” He shrugged. “So don’t be breaking my fridge now.”I rolled my eyes and rattled off Jason’s number, knowing my cousin was more than likely guarding his phone with his life right now. An unknown number was bound to set him off. When the line rang and went to voicemail, I was disappointed but quickly rattled off what I needed to say.“Jason, I’m safe. They didn’t get what they wanted, but I’m not sure where I am. Tell my mom and dad
Adam’s POVI watched her take a hesitant step outside of my bedroom as the chain from her wrist trailed behind her. “Come on, the coffee’s gettin’ cold.” I turned from her so she wouldn’t see my slight smile; or the bulge in my pants. I hated to admit it, but seeing her in my clothing did something to me. It was like I had claimed her and she accepted in a way.I picked up my phone and pulled up my security app, changing the password as she joined me. “There. No more getting out for you.” I placed a cup of coffee in front of her, watching her eye it with distrust. “If I was gonna kill ya or somethin’ else, I’d’ve done it by now.” I pointed out to her. She gingerly took up the glass and took a sip, making a face. “What now? Is it not sweet enough for the princess?” I chuckled.“Actually, I take my coffee black.” She sipped again, this time trying to hide her distaste.I reached over and took the cup from her hand, giving her mine. “Here. Take m-“ I noticed the charred skin on her finge
Adam’s POVI heard the feint yell from upstairs and smiled, Dublin cocking his head to the side and frowning at me. “Tell me ya didnt bring tha birdy back with ya.” Dublin shook his head in disappointment as I continued to smile.“I couldn’t very well have left her. She happens to be my fated mate.” I heard him choke on his coffee when I said it, spitting the brown liquid all over my nice jasper tiled kitchen. “You’re cleaning that up.” I pointed to his mess as he continued to sputter and eventually having him begin to laugh.“Ain’t no fuckin’ way! You?! What am I gonna call ya? Yer Majesty? Mi Lord?” He cackled for a good solid minute or two before I threw a towel at his face and got him to finally stop.“Nah, I’ll still be doing the same damn thing. She is adamant to break off the whole thing.” I ran a hand over the jasper tile and sighed, letting my eyes settle over the swirls of blue and grey.“Fuck me… sorry.” Dublin finished wiping up after himself and stood back up next to my k
Adam’s POV I heard a knock from downstairs at my front door and dried off, wrapping the towel around my waist and opening the bathroom door and heading out as the steam from my hot shower billowed around me. The princess was sitting on the bed and not looking at me at all, her face flushed and her hands in her lap. I took a look around and noted the top drawer of my nightstand was slightly askew and the whole thing off by a couple degrees. “Like what you found?” I grinned at her, seeing her face turn a shade darker. I kept condoms and some magazines in the last drawer, something I was sure she happened to find. “Don’t know what you mean.” She mumbled as I chuckled a little. “Sure you don’t, princess.” I turned from her and pressed the button on my com system I had near my door, checking my front camera. “Dublin; come in and help yourself to some food. I’ll be right down.” I buzzed him in from there and let my towel drop to the floor, putting on clean clothing and watch
Ada’s POVI knocked again for good measure, finally hearing someone from the other side come to the door. “We don’t want no trouble with packs now. What do you want?” The voice was old and feminine, her eyes peeping through the mail slot.“I’m sorry to bother you, ma’am; but it seems we ran into a bit of trouble in your neighborhood and was wondering who to safely contact.”“American?” She tsked at me. “You lot always cause mischief.”“Who’s at the door, love?” Someone called behind her, his voice more feint. I swore I heard it from somewhere before, but it was too hard for me to discern through the thick wood.“American! Bringing trouble round here I imagine.” She huffed.“Well, let them in! Maybe they have news about my dear Melody!” He called out.Surely this person doesn’t mean Aunt Melody…. I wondered as I heard the Rogue mutter curses and unlock the door for me.“I want no trouble now, yah hear?” She glared at me when she said it, huffing and letting me inside. She had tufted wh
Ada’s POV“Is a tour! These us the backways cross London and all; ya see tons of great sights here!” He beamed at us, his eyes turning from Addison to focus on the alley again. “Right up ‘er is a private club that all’th young pups come to.”“Does he really think we’ll fall for this?” Grace snickered through the link, trying to hide her grin.“We need to be on our guard; we don’t know how many are there. And he seems confident, so I’m guessing we aren’t the only ones he’s done this to.” Addison opened her clutch to get ready, the driver still not expecting a thing. When we got closer to the building, he accelerated all of the sudden and aimed for a garage door that swung open, males waiting on the other side with collars and chains. “Sorry, ladies; but yer toll is due!” The driver snickered. We waisted no time though as Addison punched him square in the face as she pushed open her door forcefully, slamming it into the first male by us.Abby opened her door as well and pulled Grace alo
