Teddy’s POV

‘I don’t think we’ve come close enough to allowing that to happen.’ I growled, still not comfortable with my old man. He still had a long way to go before I’d ever consider the idea.

‘It’s just a thought he’s been shooting at me: giving you a heads up and all.’ Thomas’s wolf form shrugged, yawning as he looked over to Rose and the puppy. ‘Now, we got sidetracked. What did you want to discuss?’

‘I need help figuring out what to do about the Rogue’s; legally speaking that is.’ There were laws in place protecting them as a sort of sovereign people. They did not adhere to pack laws, but they could not insert themselves into our affairs either. Chip had been one before joining Melody’s pack with Heather, the life he lived constantly in danger of packs harassing him or threats for him to move on.

‘Legally speaking; you could have them register their presence, make it sort of like a database to protect them. Give them cards and everything that can be traced where they move. But then you run into the problem of having those who won’t want to register.’ He sighed. ‘It was hard enough keeping track of ones in our own border. But you’re talking about an entire continent almost.’

‘I’ll think of a way. Thank you.’ I needed to get back to Melody and the baby; check on Felix and everyone else for that matter as well. It was good to see my brother thriving in his new life, but my own was calling to me now. ‘I’ll try to visit more often.’ I bid him farewell, him and Rose howling at me as I took off, the puppy letting out an awoo along with them.

If I were to implement this, I would definitely have a lot of kickback from the rogue population, but they were the ones who had started the fight to begin with. If having them register their whereabouts and their numbers as a type of census would help, then by Goddess it would probably be the only thing we could do. No one really knew how many Rogues were out there to begin with, so an army could very well be hidden right under our nose.

I made it back to the hospital after I did a quick run around the inner perimeter of the pack house land, double checking with security and Axel before finally going back to Melody. When I got to the room, her and the baby were both asleep, a soft snore coming from the bed and the bassinet. Like mother, like daughter. I smiled slightly to myself as I went to our daughter to look at her round and roses face.

Goddess; thank you for the two children I do have. I prayed, taking a soft curl of Lucy’s and playing with it a little. Give me the strength and the wisdom to protect my family and to protect my kind. I was going to need all the help I could get, especially if I were to enact a new law.

“Mew…” Lucy started to fuss a little in her bassinet, her little mouth making a tiny circle with her small lips. I smiled as I picked her up and went to the corner to sit, the baby settling down almost instantly.

Just as beautiful as your mommy, I smiled. And she was too; she had Melody’s nose and her cute little ears. The only thing really there of me it seemed was the black curly hair. My little princess.

Knock, knock… I looked up to see my mother in the door, a sleeping Felix on her shoulder. “Hijo, mi nietito Felix wanted to see his hermana y mama; but it seems all of them are cansado.” She smiled as I got up to go to her, bringing the baby out to the hall and closing the door behind us.

“It’s been a tiresome day, that’s for sure.” I led her to a small sitting area, letting her sit down first before trading her children. “Oof… my boy is growing.”

“Sí.. he’s going to be just as big as you and tu padre… And Melodita?” She inquired as she rocked the baby gently. “And you, mi hijo? I understand that compicaciones happened… Io siento, mi bebé.” A tear escaped her eye as she held Lucy a little tighter, her only granddaughter I’d be able to give her.

“We’ll figure it out, mom. I have something in the works already.” I promised her, my blood going hot at the thought of what I had almost lost near hours before.

“Just don’t do anything temerario, hm? The Rogues have never been like this before, either someone or something is driving them demente.” She cautioned me.

“Alright mom. Thanks.” I had to enact the census though, the more I thought about it. I knew a lot of Rogues would be opposed, especially since packs were involved; but until we could figure out who was pulling the strings they would just have to suck it up. Besides, if they have nothing to hide, they shouldn’t have anything to worry about at all.

My mother and I spent a few moments there after that just enjoying the babies, but she eventually had to get back. I traded her Felix for Lucy again and went back to the room, Melody waking up just as I put the baby back to sleep. “Hello, love.” She ruined her eyes as she yawned a little, giving me a halfhearted smile. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too, my little goddess.” I went to the bed and sat down next to her, gathering my nerves and choosing my words carefully. “I was wondering… What do you think of the idea of having a census amongst the rogues and the pack?”

Adam’s POV“Stay calm and maybe I can talk us outta this.” I watched as the bobby got out of his car and came to my window, his eyes darting to Lucy. “‘Ello, do ya live in these parts?” He asked me, a couple more squad cars going by.“Nah, officer. Me and the Missus are on our way to th’ doc’s cross town. What’s the issue?” I asked casually, trying to had the fact that I was nervous as all get out.“Seems that some bloke’s gone and made a right mess of a factory cross the way and were asking for witnesses and such. Do ya have yer ID?” I handed it to the officer, glad I remembered to grab my fake one. “Right there… Mister Scott McDaniels… and you must be missus McDaniels?” He asked Lucy.“Yes, officer.” She whispered out, smart enough to try and mask her accent.“And which doctor ya goin to?” He leaned against the car and made my rusty little mobile groan, his smile hitting a nerve of annoyance with me.“Family Doc.” I shrugged, watching his eyes darting to Lucy’s stomach.“Ahh! Lucy’s POV“Did ya save my clothes from getting ruined.” He asked casually as he swayed on his feet. Bullets fell from his body as he shifted completely back to human and caught himself on the ruined counter once he got back inside.“…” I couldn’t speak, the adrenaline from fighting now worn off and the shock at what I had just witnessed setting in. “…what?..” I had to ask.“My clothes. Can I have them now?” He asked again as I scrambled up the steps to the room. I found his clothing and picked it up, his phone sliding from the pocket and hitting the floor. I picked it up again and decided it was worth the risk and shoved it into the pocket of the pants he had given me.I stepped over the first body going down the steps, almost tripping as the blood made me slip a little. Adam was now at the fridge, the door open and peppered with bullet holes as he drank orange juice from the carton. “Thank ya.” He coughed out when he saw me, my eyes catching sight of all of him again.“Of course.”

Adam’s POV“Was that a gunshot?” Lucy asked from across my island, her face going white.“Fuck… We gotta go!” I immediately grabbed her hand and tugged her along with me to the bedroom upstairs.“Go where? What’s happening?” I opened the door and threw a duffle bag at her as I headed over to my closet.“Make herself useful and take the toiletries from the bathroom. We’re leaving in two minutes.” I called out to her. “The blokes who want ya dead found out where we are.”I turned around briefly from my closet as I threw shirts and pants into my bag, watching her war with herself for a few seconds before she complied.“How do you even know that it’s them? Maybe they’re from my pack and have been searching for me.” She yelled from the bathroom.“Do yer wolves shoot a guy and ask questions later?” I challenged her.She went silent after that, making me take it as a no. I went over to my secret panel and typed in a code once I was sure that she wasn’t looking, putting my safe on lockdown an

Lucy’s POV“Dig in!” I smiled at Adam with a wolf’s grin as he eyed the plates dubiously.“What’s this?” He took a sniff of what I had prepared and tried not to wince as the acidic smell wafted from the beef.“Well; it was supposed to be beef Wellington, but you didn’t have enough butter, so I improvised.” I shrugged as he glanced around his kitchen, the mess I made something to behold. I had mixing bowls out everywhere, every available utensil or spoon used and on the counters or in the sink, various pans on the stove for the side of broccoli and mashed potatoes I made, and the oven door still having some smoke billowing out of it.I could see him war with himself about saying something but eventually giving up and picking up a piece of broccoli. It was overcooked and fell off of his fork with a splat against the plate. “I thought you said you could cook… Your momsie is even known for cooking.” He pointed out.“My mother can cook, that is true; but I never said anything about my skil

Jason’s POVShe darted her head into Tulip’s body and shivered as her breathing became erratic, the other five woman almost doing the same thing. Tulip pulled her closer and glared at me as Alvin chuckled. “Calm down there boy, you almost gave me a heart attack.”I nodded and tried to swallow my heart that had now made its way into my throat, feeling ashamed and scorned for something I didn’t even do. “I’m sorry for my outburst…” I paused and realized I didn’t even know my mates name. “I-it won’t happen again.” I sank back into my chair and watched as Tulip pat her and have her eventually calm down.“I-I was coming into their fortress with my… somebody.. they had brought her out of a limo with the Master’s son, Leon, and sent her to rooms away from their… party..” she wouldn’t look at anyone as she said it, her eyes getting a glassy look. “She was going to be sacrificed, but plans changed and they sent Jessabella. Then when their ritual failed the first time, they were gonna do the sa

Tulip’s POVI found the girl shivering in my side of the closet with her skinny arms wrapped around her like she would fall apart at the seams. “Hello love.” I spoke softly and made her jump a little, fur sprouting on her arms for just the barest of seconds. “Sorry to bother you; but I don’t suppose you’ll tell me why you’re shivering and hiding next to my bloomers?”She pulled herself deeper in and let out a slight whimper, breaking my heart. “Now, now; you’re amongst friends and great wolves. Whoever did what they did to you will get their comeuppance, I’m sure of it.” I sat down next to her as my knees groaned under me. It wasn’t easy being one hundred and eighty, but I still got around.“H-he’s so… so… big…” she finally whispered. “What if he hurts me too?…”“Oh, sweet child.” I pulled herself a little closer and patted her gently. “The Goddess wouldn’t do that to you. Mate’s are supposed to be your other half; someone who compliments your soul and brings out the best in you. Sure
