LOGINTeddy’s POV ‘I don’t think we’ve come close enough to allowing that to happen.’ I growled, still not comfortable with my old man. He still had a long way to go before I’d ever consider the idea. ‘It’s just a thought he’s been shooting at me: giving you a heads up and all.’ Thomas’s wolf form shrugged, yawning as he looked over to Rose and the puppy. ‘Now, we got sidetracked. What did you want to discuss?’ ‘I need help figuring out what to do about the Rogue’s; legally speaking that is.’ There were laws in place protecting them as a sort of sovereign people. They did not adhere to pack laws, but they could not insert themselves into our affairs either. Chip had been one before joining Melody’s pack with Heather, the life he lived constantly in danger of packs harassing him or threats for him to move on. ‘Legally speaking; you could have them register their presence, make it sort of like a database to protect them. Give them cards and everything that can be traced where they mov
Teddy’s POV Melody’s took our delicate little bundle into her arms, her chest still shaking slightly as she nuzzled the baby close to her chest to eat. “There, there… mommy’s here. It’s gonna be okay.” Her voice was breaking slightly as she spoke to her, tears still falling as she caressed the baby’s soft locks of black hair. “Two’s okay, right?” She wouldn’t look at me when saying it, talking more to the baby than anything. “You’ll just have to get into twice as much trouble as your brother.” “I-I need to go talk to Axel and make arrangements for things.” The room was feeling too stuffy, the air stagnant to me. They had been through and melted bodies and disinfected everything while Melody was out, leaving the halls smelling like bleach and copper. “Teddy..” Melody’s voice stopped me in the door, my shoulders tensing as I felt the walls creeping in closer. “Nothing is your fault. We couldn’t have predicted any of this happening. We-we just need to figure out why this is happeni
Melody’s POV “Hmmm?” I scrunched my eyes together while they were closed, a massive headache thrumming through my head making me feel nauseous. “Thank Goddess…. Melody?” “Mmm?” Teddy. I could feel that it was him with the way he grabbed my hand. His rough stubble from a few days without shaving brushed against the back of it feeling like sandpaper. “Love?” I squinted open my eyes together while the brightly lit room and saw a plethora of worried faces. “What happened?” One moment I was holding the baby in the bathroom, the next was all a blur for me then as my memory felt fuzzy. “Can we have some privacy?” Teddy turned to Jude, Axel, Ted Two, and the doctor; all of them getting up to leave. Jude shot me an apologetic look, one that spelled bad news. My heart rate spiked as I looked around the small hospital room, only settling when I saw Lucy sleeping peacefully in the bassinet. Goddess, for a second there… I didn’t want to think about that though, the mere idea that my ba
Teddy’s POV ‘Melody! Melody!’ I couldn’t get through to her through the link, making my insides knot in worry as I fought my way to the hospital. The rogues were starting to thin out now, someone having torn through ahead of me and leaving behind a trail of viscera. ‘My King; Melody’s in a critical state right now, the Doctor is rushing her to operation.’ Jude linked, the worry in her voice making burst on more speed. ‘What happened?! Did the rogue’s get her?!’ I ripped the throat out of the last one, shifting into my human side just as I reached the hospital door. Thank Goddess my father had a safe room in the house. My mother had gotten all the women and children in there as soon as Axel raised the Alarm, and I could hear her through the family link calming all the children and mothers. ‘Hemorrhaging, sir. She was moved too soon after giving birth. Working on her now; but I’m closing the link to focus.’ I was glad we had brought along
Melody’s POV Teddy, be safe.’ I linked Teddy, the baby having woken me to eat. The baby was bustled against me now, her soft mews making me smile. All the sudden, I saw a nurse run past and to the front of the building, the sound of something breaking and a scream following. “What in the world?” Maybe a resident is having a bad day. They did have some senile wolves here, so it made sense. Then two more nurses ran by, a guard following them as a shot rang out as well. “Fuckin-?!” “Melody!” Jude burst into the door with the doctor right behind her, both of them shooting glances down the hall. “We need to get you somewhere safe!” She ran to the bed and started to unhook it, pushing it slightly to the door. “Fuck! They made it past! We haven’t the time to get her to the safe room. My Queen, we’ll have to hold them off while you stay in the restroom. Jude, get her in there now!” The doctor pulled the door closed and pulled the blinds down as he flipped off the lights. “S
Teddy’s POV “Push Melody! You’ve got this!” My wife was in front of me on the bed, the pack doctor and his staff scurrying around as the pup made it difficult for Melody. “That’s it Misses Bells… One more big push!” The doctor had ahold of the pup’s head, ready to catch the baby when Melody’s done pushing. “Ahhh!” Melody screamed as she finally pushed one last time, the pup coming free. The doctor passed the pup onto Melody’s chest, a cry ringing out from the small newborn. “Time of birth, October thirty first, twelve a.m. on the nose.” Nurse Jude wrote it down, others starting to clean everything up as the pup nuzzled onto Melody. “Congratulations, my King and Queen. It’s a healthy female!” “A female?!” I looked at the small pup and Melody, grinning ear to ear. “We have a female.” Melody smiled as the pup began to mew and nuzzle at her already. There was a shocking amount of hair already on the little head, my co
