Chapter 19: Rose
I didn’t sleep well the night of the party. I kept having to help Kimia to the bathroom. I trust Sarina’s judgment about having Kimia drink a lot of water to flush what was left out of her system, but it was damned inconvenient.
“Rose,” Kimia woke me up with a hoarse voice.
“Humm?” I said not moving from my trundle bed.
“How did we get home last night?”
“We walked. Sarina drove the car back.”
“Oh.” She paused for a few moments to think it over. I was starting to drift back to sleep when she said, “Why did Rina drive the car back?”

“Kamron!” The shout came from behind me as I was walking toward my bus stop. I turned to find a petite girl with dirty blonde hair, a bright smile, and freckles across her nose. Cute, but not Rose.“What’s up, Amanda?” I asked. I suppose she’s going to ask me to the spring dance, and I still haven’t figured out what to tell her.
