I was grinning like an idiot the rest of the day after I’d kissed Rose. I couldn’t believe she’d kissed me back! Kimi, Rina, Mina, and Mom all teased me when Kimi announced the reason I was in a good mood at dinner. I was too happy I’d finally manned up and kissed Rose to be too embarrassed by my family.

Kimi was the one who brought me back to earth before bed. “Thanks for distracting Rose from being mad at me. That kiss was genius.”

Did Rose think I kissed her to distract her? “Yeah. No problem. Anything for you.”

“And you should thank me for talking Rose into joining your group for the dance,” she added.
