Twenty

I watch them all leave from the rooftop of the house. I decide staying here is the best thing for me. The air is nice and cold and I'm not stuck in a new place where unknown scents linger. I can feel them along the orange trees. The shadows keeping us in. Little hums of dark energy floating around my newly forming senses. 

My body aches. Not in a painful way. A deep tingling anxiety is starting to settle in my muscles and it's starting to become difficult to ignore. These breathing exercises are bull shit and in no way help anymore. 

I've felt this before. Back when Dad had died. I couldn't sleep and the lack of sleep made me feel like this. Sick. My muscles spasm with the fresh wind brushes past me. My flesh pimples with nerves when she carefully crawls up behind me. I sigh wishing she'd go away.
