CLARA

He dropped me in front of my house and drove off, as I made my way inside.

Flora was watching TV when she looked upwards to see me.

"You are late!" She stated as I winced remembering that I had forgotten to call her and warn her that Callum had taken me out, derailed me for the next three hours.

"I'm sorry. I got taken against my wish. Callum found me." I said collapsing beside her as she turned to look at me with surprise.

"Are you alright? Do we need to call the police or file a restraining order?" She asked as I shook my head.

"The police would gladly take his side. Besides it's my turn to repay the debt I owe him. As long as I make him happy, then I have nothing to worry about." I said as Flora frowned. Not liking that answer one bit.

"And what kind of happiness does that entails exactly? You can't give him money, he is wealthy than you." She pointed out as I wondered if it was safe to spill the beans then realized that she was the only one that I had in my corner after cutting all old ties years ago and I couldn't afford to be picky.

"He wants a relationship with me. I promised him marriage if he helped me escape from Damon. That's what he is back for. For me to keep my promise." I said covering my face with my hands as Flora stared at me.

"What? But he has a fiancee Leah. Everyone knows about her. How is he going to pull this off?" She asked as I shook my head.

"I really don't know yet. But I have to do my part. Although I told him that I wasn't going to be intimate with him, so that's a win. After everything that I had with Damon, being intimate with a stranger is the last thing I want. Atleast he was able to agree to that so it can't be all that bad." I pointed out as Flora relaxed back in the sofa focusing on the TV this time around,

"I still think that this is going to end horribly. And I am sure about my feelings." She stated leaving me to my thoughts as I tried to gather it.

The next few days passed with relative ease and nobody had barged down my door either at home or in my workplace to arrest me for stealing Callum so I guess that Callum didn't let Leah find out about our new agreement which was satisfying.

"Clara. We have a meeting in five minutes. Gather the files that I have you last week and distribute it to the board members." My boss Josh Kennedy said as I nodded my head standing up to get what he asked for and followed him diligently.

When we walked inside, everyone else was already settled in their seats mumbling to one another but they all looked up when we entered.

"Good afternoon everyone. Today I have with me, Clara Clark. My assistant. She will be helping me in this presentation." Kennedy spoke as I bowed my head in greeting looking around when I suddenly froze, Leah and Callum were in this meeting and I was not aware. I couldn't back down from it so I quickly removed my eyes from them and went to sit beside my boss.

Once it finally got to our turn, I passed the files around before the projector came up and my boss wanted to explain it, when Callum spoke,

"You shouldn't be the one working when your assistant is around. Let her be the one to explain the project to us." He said as everyone else seemed to agree with him. What the hell was this? Follow the leader.

Kennedy looked at me with a worried look because this project was vital and we needed to get approval to continue with this. I gave him a firm smile and stood up from where I was sitting as I made my way to the projector.

Standing in front of it, I greeted everyone again before explaining the basics that I knew from what I skimmed through.

But it wasn't enough as Leah kept on attacking me with questions that I had no idea how to defend them.

"Honestly I don't see why we should bother doing this project. It showed that Clara here is only in this to scam us." Leah spoke as people nodded their head as I got scared wondering if this was going to be the way it ended but Callum spoke, leaning forward.

"I'm intrigued by this little project. I want to see where it leads to in the next six months. I vote in favour of it. All in favour raise your hands." He said raising his hand as fifteen other joined as well excluding Leah and about seven others who had a look on their face that screamed payback at me.

"Well then I guess this little project is a go." Callum said cheekily as if he had not given me high BP the entire time and stood up from his seat and left, others following his lead as well.

Resisting the urge to roll my eyes, my boss told me to gathered all the files while he go and explain the finishing touches to Callum as I agreed.

I was caught up in what I was doing that I didn't realize that Leah hadn't left the office as well and soon she came to meet me startling me as I took a step back.

"What are you doing here?" I asked trying to remain calm as she slapped me hard across the face as I fell to the ground hitting the table.

"You think you have won this round huh? Is that what it feels like to you? I'll perish you under my boot, you insolent bitch. Just you wait and see, I'll make sure that you will never ever come near me or my fiance in your miserable life."
