LOGINAuthor's POV
Samantha smiled at the cameras that tried their best to get good shots of her. She looked around at the sea of people gathered and studied their expressions. Some looked happy, others were shocked and others didn't fail to show their disapproval of her being announced as the new CEO. She knew they wanted her sister to be the CEO of the company but newsflash, she had taken over and this was her time. “It is an honor to be given this privilege and I promise you all that I won't disappoint you,” she spoke about her visions and plans for the company and when she was done, she gave them a slight bow. “Thank you all for your support.” she moved aside, followed by a round of applause and cheers as the anchor came onboard. She walked to where Aiden stood, and he held her hand, causing her to freeze. “You did good.” he smiled at her, and she couldn't help the warmth she felt at his words. “Thanks.” she answered and slowly disconnected their hands before facing the stage. Aiden sighed and tucked his hands into his pockets. He knew the kind of lady Samantha was, and was aware it was going to take some time before she trusted him enough to let herself love him again. All through that process, he was going to be with her and help her heal. His eyes went to Nathan, who stood with Bianca. When he saw them talking down on Samantha earlier, no one needed to tell him that it was her ex-husband and his main chick. His fists clenched as he stared at them and saw how Nathan would glance their way from time to time. He was going to make sure he dealt with the bastard. While the event was in full swing, Samantha used that opportunity to welcome and talk with some businessmen there one on one. She also made connections with some and was able to convince some of them into becoming shareholders and business associates with them. It seemed she had magic on her lips because she was able to convince the ones she met to trust her with her words. Nathan couldn't believe what was going on. The room suddenly became too suffocating for him to be in. He wondered if he was dreaming or all this was just a prank. The Samantha he knew was a nobody. How on earth did she suddenly become this rich and influential? She even became the CEO of the greatest and biggest business empire in the state. How was that even possible? “How did this happen, Bianca? Where did it all go wrong? Samantha isn't rich. She is a nobody. I know her too well. She told me her parents were in a remote village and struggling to survive. How did she become the daughter of the Salvadors? Not just that, how did she become an heiress, and a billionaire CEO?” he asked Bianca, who was also in shock. “I have no idea, but if this is really happening, then I am in big shit,” she said, the panic evident on her face. Nathan turned to face her. “What do you mean?” he asked and she sighed. “I am part of the Sullivan, and we are number three among THE BIG FIVE here in America. THE BIG FIVE are the five largest business conglomerate in the country and the Salvadors are ranking second while the Callymore are the first. The Salvadors are shareholders in our company and are one of our company's main sources of income. Now that Samantha is the CEO, if she finds out, she might withdraw from the company, and we will lose a lot of money as a result.” she explained and Nathan gasped. “That's not fair. Besides, she has no business with you personally, so why would she withdraw from helping your company?” he asked. Bianca glared at him. “I slapped and threw her out of your house, remember?” she asked, poking his forehead as if trying to register the situation into his head. Nathan soon realized and looked in Samantha's direction, but she was no longer there. He used his eyes to look for her, but couldn't find her. “Let's look for her and apologize for everything that happened. I'm sure she will reconsider because I am her husband.” “Ex-husband.” Bianca corrected him, a frown settling on her face. “She hasn't signed the divorce papers yet. I only signed my part. There is a way we can still work things out.” Bianca couldn't believe what he was saying. He wanted to work things out with Samantha? If that happens then what about her? Is he going to abandon her or what? “You're talking like it's something to be treated trivially. If you get back together with her, what happens to me? Are you going to throw me away like you threw her away because of me?” she asked, glaring at him. Nathan held her hand. “No, that's not what I meant,” he rubbed her hands to calm her down. “I mean, Samantha loves me so much. She obviously can't do without me. If I tell her that I want us to be together, she will be happy. We will be able to use her for her money, and also live a good life together.” “So you want to deceive her? You aren't planning to leave me?” Bianca asked. “I will never leave you.” he smiled at her and she smiled back. “I'm sorry to interrupt your love confession but spare me two minutes of your time. I need to talk to you.” Samantha smiled as she walked up to them. They turned to look at her and stepped back in fear. The aura surrounding her was different now. She was intimidating; unlike the sweet and calm Samantha they all knew. Nathan noticed that she looked more beautiful than before tonight. This was the same woman he threw out of his house yesterday. How did she glam up so quickly? He flashed her a smile. “Sam.” he called softly, expecting that fluttering look she always gave him whenever he called her that way, but her expression didn't falter. She just stood there with her arms folded, her face expressionless. “Nathan,” she called. “It's nice to see you again, isn't it? You know, a few minutes ago, you and your girlfriend shamed me, and called me a broke ass bitch. Isn't it ironic and somehow shocking that the broke ass bitch is the heiress to Salvador enterprises?” she smirked, her voice laced with mockery. “What do you have to say about that?”143.Three Days Later…Aiden was already going crazy and frustrated. He had been trying to gather evidence on Estella, but the ones he had weren’t going to make anything happen. Nothing would stick. Every time he thought he had her cornered, she slipped through like smoke. He ruffled his hair and plopped down on the chair. The fact that Samantha was going to be taken to rehab in two days was more than enough reason for him to lose his mind. It wasn’t just rehab—it was isolation. A silent erasure. Once she was in, Estella would make sure she never came back the same.He needed to do something before they wouldn’t be able to do anything at all. He massaged his temple as he tried to think. He groaned and patted his head, his eyes already red from all the late night work and browsing. He had never been this stuck in his life. Samantha had good record. There was no way the police would believe such a thing. After thinking for a while, Aiden decided the only for him to be able to actually
142.Estella was in her room having a drink with wine and cigarettes. There was loud music playing while she screamed and danced. “I can't believe that actually worked!” she giggled and plopped down on the bed.Ryan smirked and took a sip from his wine. “See? I told you it was going to work. Who knew hiding that drugs in her room before leaving the house after she framed you would actually come in handy right now.”Estella giggled. “I know, right? I did tell her I was going to make her face the same thing. I also replaced her pills with drugs--”Her words were cut off when her door swung open and Linda barged in. “You bitch!” she rushed to Estella and pulled her to her feet, dragging her out of the house and into the living room.“Get your filthy hands off me!” she snapped, her eyes blazing with fury but Linda didn't care.Ryan remained in the room because he didn't want Ray, Estella’s father to see him. Ray has warned him to stay away from Estella and stop influencing her for a long
141.It had been a quiet afternoon: sunlight streamed through the living room window, casting a warm glow across the furniture as Samantha, Ashlyn, Linda, and Mia lounged in the house, each occupied with her own thing. Laughter occasionally erupted as they shared jokes and swapped stories over cups of iced tea. It was the kind of day that felt ordinary and safe but was it really? This was the kind things out of the ordinary usually happened.Without warning, a loud knock echoed through the house. They didn't wait as the front door swung open a moment later, and several police officers strode in with determination in their eyes, their expressions unreadable.Samantha and the girls quickly stood up. What the fucking heck was going on? Why would these people barge into their living room like that?“Good afternoon,” one of them said firmly, his eyes scanning the room. “We’ve received a report regarding drug abuse at this residence. We’re here to investigate.”The room fell into stunned si
140.TWO WEEKS LATER...Darcel has been invited to a dinner party. She looked around the place with a smile and walked to the table that had been reserved for her. When she got there and sat down she saw that someone else was also supposed to sit here. She was so curious to look at the name, but she had to control herself, so instead she crossed her legs and took out her phone.“Well, who do we have here? If it isn't my favorite artist, Darcel Russell.”Darcel blinked. That voice sounded oddly familiar. She looked up from her phone and her eyes widened. “Tristan?” she called, beaming with smiles. “Oh my gosh, what are you doing here?” she stood up and they hugged before he took a seat.Tristan chuckled. “I was invited. Actually, my Dad was invited, but he couldn't come and I had to take his place. I'm glad I didn't say no.”Darcel smiled. “Your Dad?”Tristan nodded with smiles. “It's good to see you again, Darcel. Los Angeles is a pretty sweet place.”Darcel nodded. “Yeah, it is,” she
139.Aiden shielded Samantha with himself but Sullivan's men pulled her away. Aiden tried to get to her but they blocked him.“You already have your money. What else do you want?” Samantha snapped, her eyes glistening with tears.“No more word from you, Samantha else I'll have no choice but to quickly finish you off.” he warned.“Sullivan, it hasn't gotten to this. Drop the gun and we can talk.” Aiden said.Sullivan shook his head, his eyes gleaming with malice. “Oh, no, Callymore. I’ve had enough of talking.” He raised his gun and pointed it at Samantha’s stomach, his finger itching on the trigger. “This is what you get for betraying me, Aiden.”Aiden’s mind raced. He had to think fast. He couldn’t let Sullivan hurt Samantha or their child. He took a step forward, his hands raised in surrender. “Sullivan, please, don’t do this. If you want revenge, take it out on me,” Aiden pleaded. “Samantha and the baby are innocent. They don’t deserve to be hurt because of me.”Sullivan’s smirk wi
138.Aiden had returned after searching in vain for Samantha. He was literally going crazy while Seth tried to calm him down.“She's fucking pregnant, Seth. She's pregnant and got kidnapped!” he yelled. “If I get my hands on Sullivan, I'm not going to spare him!” Aiden snapped.Jessica didn't say a word. She just cried while Yasmeen and the girls tried to calm her down. “I contacted Bianca, but she told me he had blocked her weeks ago. Besides, he wouldn't be dumb enough to use the same number.” Linda said.Aiden ruffled his hair and paced as he wondered what to do. “Ashlyn,” he rushed to his sister and held her. “You know Sullivan better than all of us. Where do you think he must have taken her? You might at least have something to know--”“Aiden, relax,” Ashlyn placed her hand on his shoulder but that did little to calm him down. “I don't really know where he has taken her, but one thing I'm sure of is that he wants something. You know he lost everything after the whole saga with y
