"Do you have an appointment with him?" Came her polite reply and when I shook my head she chased me away by saying.
"I'm sorry miss I can't let you in then, you must have an appointment with him before I can let you see him, please go home".
"Okay how about you call him and tell him Marianne Jerkins is here, I'm sure he'd understand" I pleaded with her.
She gave me a look before heeding my request and calling Mr. Pedro. After a while of her phoning him, she told me to go in and I thanked her before finding my way to the office where she had just directed me.
I knocked on the door and it opened revealing a familiar man. Jake, Pedro's personal assistant.
"Come in please" he made space for me and I got in.
Pedro is done with whatever he was doing and he's now looking straight at him, I bet he's expecting good news.
I'm not in the mood to disappoint him so I'd tell him. "I got accepted" I told him and watched a wide smile appear on his middle-aged yet handsome face.
"That's good news but you'll have to finish it by seducing him" he reminded me.
Well, I know but there's no need to remind me. "Can I see my brother before I leave for his mansion tomorrow?" I went straight to the point.
"No darling" he shook his head.
"What do you mean no?" I rose with an alert look. How dare he stop me from seeing my mother?
"You will see your brother once I see you make progress with what you're doing and you have a right to argue with me because your brother is using my money to heal" he shot at me.
My throat went dry, my fist was clenched and I was angry and hurt at the same time because he was right and I couldn't defend myself. I didn't want to upset him so he wouldn't do anything to my sick brother.
"Fine" I nodded before storming out of the company with a stone face.
Tonight Cherry slept in my room, she knew that I was gonna leave tomorrow and she didn't want me to leave without telling me goodbye. Like the breeze it was the next day, I'd showered and changed and was still giving Cherry some hugs when a car horn sounded.
Guessing that must be from the so-called Xander Knox. Cherry pulled away from the hug, she gave me some friendly advice before helping me drag my luggage outside.
When we got out, we were welcomed with a f**king black and expensive Rolls-Royce Boat Tail and if I'm not mistaken, it's over 28 million dollars.
Xander Knox must be f*cking rich but what do I expect from a man with a billion-dollar company? I hugged Cherry one more time and had to force her to let me before sighing and looking up at the sky. My eyes were misty but I won't let the teardrop.
Just wait for me brother. I will set you free I promise.
The drive was silent and boring. I kept myself busy by looking out of the window, the only thought in my mind was how to get over with my plans quickly. I was thinking of the things I could do that could seduce Mr. Xander Knox without effort.
Wait I signed in to be his mistress then it shouldn't be that hard, even though I might not be with him every time but I'm his mistress which means I still have a chance.
I know he might be busy since he runs a huge business but I promise to make use of it every time and achieve something each time I get to spend time with him.
"Miss we are here"
Huh?
I raised my head to look around. We are here already? The car stopped in a place that looks like a paradise. The mansion in front of me was white with a beautiful fountain surrendering it. There were two statues there, one that looked like him- Xander Knox and another one that looked like a woman with short hair.
I don't know why but something tells me that the woman in the statue must be his mother. It seems like he loves his mother by building a statue for her. Oh wait, I don't care.
My mind is focused on my mission here and I can't wait to get it over with.
The chauffeur came down and opened the car for me to step down and I did. Some guards were already helping with my luggage that was in the boot and before I knew it, a maid was standing in front of me.
"Please come with me," she said in a polite tone before leaving and I hurriedly went after her.
My god, my legs were shaking when I got in, I couldn't stop drooling everywhere. The walls were decorated with these ancient art pictures that I was sure would cause a fortune and everything was painted white, I could even see my reflection in the walls and I'm beginning to question if I was in a movie or something.
We got to the staircase and I was a bit scared to climb on it because it was looking like a ceramic and I was scared to break it if I stepped on it but I have to get this over with. I stepped on it and each time I matched each of the stairs, it made a 'clock' sound.
Finally, we are done with the staircase and we are finally on a corridor path, she took me to the fourth door and stopped in.
"This is your room miss," she said politely.
I nodded and turned back to meet the guards standing behind me with my luggage. One of them opened the door and I couldn't believe my eyes.
All these for me?
I was surprised because the room looked spacy and big. There's a big soft white bed, a long mirror, a vanity table, wardrobes...
I slowly walked in and the guards entered, they helped me put some clothes in my wardrobe before leaving.
"Miss I'm Zuna and I'll be your personal maid and also your assistant, you should feel free each time you want to ask me for something," the maid that followed me earlier told me.
"Oh" I looked shocked. Am I seriously going to have a personal maid? OMG, I don't even know what to say. I didn't want to keep looking at a fool so I nodded.
"You can take a cool shower if you want ma'am and your breakfast is ready, I'll accompany you to the dining when you're done" she added.
"Thank you" I smiled and went to check out the bathroom, I saw an electric shower and bathtub and I felt tempted to take a bath instantly.
I don't care if I've showered at home but I feel like it'll be more refreshing to bathe here. I took off my clothes and climbed into the bathtub, soaking myself in it.
Why do I feel so good?
After showering I followed Zuna to the dining and I was welcomed with tons of dishes I have never seen in my life before. I was now afraid to eat because I was worried that I might gain weight. How will I be able to seduce him if I gain weight?
But my tummy was grumbling, I could see some chickens here so fuck it! Fuck the stùpid gaining weight thoughts. I sat down for dinner and began munching on what I did but I made sure to eat slowly because I don't want the maids looking and gossiping about me in the future.
It is evening already, I was sitting in the living room with my eyes glued to the TV. Isn't this Xander Knox's mansion, how come I haven't seen him since morning?
I felt a shadow in front of me and I raised my head to see Zuna.
"Are you hungry ma'am, dinner is ready" she asked me in her usual polite tone which got me wondering.
Isn't she always tired of being polite?
"One sec" I replied and stood up then followed her to the dining where dinner was placed.
Sometimes I wonder why the maid stresses themselves with making a lot of food for just a person to eat like earlier this morning. Out of everything in the dining, I only ate a plate and the rest was thrown for the dogs outside and now it's repeating itself during dinner, or is Mr. Xander Knox eating with me this time around?
I sat down and took the cutleries, after eating one spoon, I looked at her and asked. "When is Mr. Xander coming?"
"He'd be here soon, he closes around 8:30" she replied.
I checked the time through the tiny wristwatch I was wearing and it was going to 8:36 already, when is he even planning to get back?
"Good evening master Xander"
When that thought got to my mind, I heard the maids greet and even Zuna. I slowly turned my head to the direction in which the sudden tight aura was coming from and I saw him.
The sexy devil I was going to seduce. Mr. Xander Knox himself.
