I stood before the departing section of the airport, my luggages in hand as i glanced at escalator leading to the boarding section.
The airport was filled with people - some with family, others alone. And then there were some like me who were just hoping to flee this world. I sighed - a long, heavy sigh. The sunlight peered through the glass, creating a shadow before me. Three days of careful preparation and now...... i was here. My mind couldn't help but wander to the times I'd sat on floor, in total silence. My tense shoulders relaxed - like as though a heavy burden had been lifted off my shoulders. That was right. I was no longer a wife, neither was I a mother. There were no more strands of relationship binding me to that selfish and ungrateful pair. The freedom to be able to let all hell loose, had never been more enticing as it was today. As of henceforth, there would be no hesitations. Now all that would remain would be pain and intense hatred. With the ungodly feeling of achieving revenge even if it consumes my soul and crushes what remains of my body into bits. I gritted my teeth, resentment blurring my vision. I tried to hold steady as i stumbled forward when I heard my phone trilling in my coat's pocket. Listening to that familiar ringtone,i knew it was an incoming call. I reached for it, simultaneously pressing the accept button. "Selene, where the hell are you?!" - Jason's high pitched voice came through instantly. A clear indicator that he was pissed beyond words. I smirked. Three days with his white moonlight and he suddenly realizes he had a wife today. How disappointing. Where was i?!. Wasn't this what he had always wanted. Or was he trying to drag me back so that he could savour every moment of having me dismembered like he had done the past two times. Standing still, i didn't actually know how much time had passed. But I did know that there was a thick cloud of silence hanging heavily between us both. "Why does it matter to you?" - I broke the silence. "Wouldn't it do you more good if I were to disappear forever?". My face twisted in a grimace as each word passed through the gaps of my teeth while I had my hands balled in a tight fist. "What the hell are you talking about?!" - I pushed the phone a distance from my ear as i heard him cursing in agitation. "GET BACK HERE,SELENE!!!" - he yelled. "Irina was recently discharged from the hospital and is alone with the child. How could you leave your obligation to an ailing lady ". I heard the soft thud of his fist making impact with something. Probably he had punched his desk or something. I scoffed. Feeling repulsed that I had now been reduced to being a hand servant. Did he really think that i would come running just because he said so?. Had it been in the past, then yeah. But we weren't living in the past, were we?. Obligations....... that burden was never mine to bear in the first place. They were hers. "Jason, you have wronged me greatly" - i said slowly feeling the cracks in my heart growing wider...... and wider. "What!" - he exclaimed. "You shouldn't have wronged me this badly" - i muttered beneath my breath as i sniffed in the cold air. Tears lingered in my eyes - unshed. "What dumb things are you really spouting?" - I bowed my head listening to his angry voice. "I give you five minutes.......Five minutes or else I'll never let you back" - he threatened. He seemed confident that I would come running back and crawling on my knees apologizing. A low laugh escaped my lips. I laughed till i couldn't anymore - till it got really hard to breathe. "Give me two years. These pains I've had to endure - I'll let you experience it a hundred fold" - my words flew fluently. "I'll make sure that you crumble without a wall to lean on. For now, enjoy what you've got" - i hung up the call after speaking. Casually tossing the phone into a trash bin close by. With my final good-byes having being said,i turned to leave. With a promise to burn down this world on my return. ............................................................................................................................. It was around 6:15pm when our plane touched down in Paris, France. I stepped out of the airport with my hands in my coat. Pulling behind me my entire luggage which consisted of one trolling bag. I took a deep breath, taking in the new fresh airs of Paris. With new dreams and new hopes,i walked along the paved road till i found the designated taxi waiting for my arrival. I flashed a brief smile to the driver who seemed to be in his early fourties,an average height with a slim stature and a well trimmed beard . "You're Miss Selene Woods?!" - he asked politely in french, his eyes holding a hint of scrutiny. "Yes, I am. It's a pleasure meeting you" - i replied in fluent french as i watched him pulling my bag to the back of the car. "Please...." - he opened the car door, stretching his hands while asking me to go in the car. "Thanks" - I smiled politely. He got into the driver's side, pulled the car into the busy road as he sped off. I sat at the back of the car, watching as the sun set filling the skies with it's orange red evening glow. Paris looked particularly captivating at this time of day - each building looked magnificent with it's unique architectural design. I didn't know how long we had been driving, but it had been a long while. I felt exhausted but I dared not sleep a wink. I sat up straight, engaging in different talks with the driver as he enlightened me on quite a number of things. When we pulled into the driveway of the undercover base - it was dark and the moon was out. "Miss, we're here" - the driver knocked on my glass before opening the door for me. "Thank you" - i alighted, taking my luggage from him.I resumed on set the next day, dressed up in an all black outfit and a black cap. Bennett trailed beside me, reading my itinerary for the day out loud. I walked into my designated closet, picking out the costume for the day. "And that is all that's left." - Bennett dropped the tablet on the desk gently, her hands which had been flying over the screen, settling down by her side. " Hmm- I understand. Thanks."" Ma'am - about the dress, yesterday.......? "- She fiddled with her fingers, her eyes looked extremely nervous as she tried balancing the huge frame of her glasses. " Ah~. The director hasn't said anything as of late, probably I'll ask him when i see him."- I excused myself as i walked out of the locker room, leaving Bennett behind. The set was busy - with crew members running around with props and stunt doubles practicing their moves. Other cast actors paced around, reciting their lines out loud - it was very chaotic. " Selene!!" - I glanced over my shoulders, the director'
I hastened my footsteps, thoughts in disarray as i bumped my head against something hard and sturdy. "I'm sorry, I really wasn't looking -" "Selene.......?!" - I raised my eyes, that incredibly familiar voice ringing in my ears, my gaze meeting his broad shouldered figure. "Richard - it's you!" - I exclaimed, a little shocked and a little surprised, while I rubbed my head bump a little fiercely. "What are you doing here by the way?!" - I hissed, the pain was pinching and slightly unbearable. Like......was this dude made out of rock or something. How could his chest be so goddamn hard. "Following a little birdie around.......She actually had promised to give me a call. But so far she had been an absolute no show." - He chuckled, his green eyes glazing over my figure. I could swear that i had seen that familiar pair eyes somewhere - but i couldn't quite figure out where I had seen them. I have never been good with remembering trivial issues. "Are you hurt perhaps?" - He examin
He placed his hands right over his agape mouth, his eyes widening in shock and disbelief. I brought out my phone, showing him pictures of the dress and it's current situation. "When i went there, it was already like this". I placed my phone back into my purse, my eyes examining his change in expressions. "God!..... oh good Lord!." - he scratched his head, frantically trying to think of a next course of action but was unable to come up with any ideas. "Who the hell did this?!" - he clasped his hands tightly together as he paced up, down and around."That's also what I'm trying to find out too. Though i already have an idea who the mastermind was - i just need a concrete evidence that she's the one behind it" - I answered solemnly. Della stared at me, a tad bit of hope reigniting in his mind. "Do you think that you can actually sniff this person out?". "I have the evidence and I've got a suspect. Now all we need...... is a confession." - I smiled, my eyes cold and calculative.
The set was dark and eerily quiet without a person in sight, i guess that everyone was already present at the event. I held on to my phone which was the only source of light, my footsteps echoing as i walked past some props that had been neatly arranged in a brown box. I walked to my locker room pulling out the keys as it jingled in the silence. I waved my phone around trying to spot where the dress was or where the vice director must have left it. My flashlight landed on a red dress that hung on a mannequin. A quick sigh escaped my lips...... I had found it, albeit not in a very good condition. It was torn and shredded with the pieces of red clothes laying around the base of the mannequin. I clicked my tongue, cursing my miserable luck. I walked up to it, my hands tracing the fabric - this dress was practically unsalvageable. It was a sleeveless long dress, embroidered with golden threads that were vibrant and full of vigor. Such an expensive piece of artwork had now been reduc
"Ma'am, have you seen the news yet?" Bennett jumped before me excitedly, holding her tablet in her hands as she smiled brightly. "What happened?" - I dropped my script on the the table, not at all interested in what she had to say. "The movie went live and suddenly became a huge hit on different platforms and everyone loves it." - she announced, her happiness seemed limitless as she kept giggling. "Take a look at this!" - she scrolled through the tablet's screen showing me the movie rankings and the loads of comments that trailed behind it. "It's really great, everyone is saying that Rose is a very admirable character. They love her personality and the vibes. You totally outshined Irina, a top star actress."- she chuckled, clapping her hands together like a shy girl who just found love. " So ~?." - I asked, feeling unperturbed. I pursed my lips in a thin line, such measly fame wasn't something to be all giddy about. They were often fleeting - they leave as quickly as
"It's funny. I was just thinking about the same thing" - I pulled the little child behind me in a protective stance, not wanting him to partake in anything that would be occurring at the moment. Irina crossed her legs, her red slit dress exposing her thighs as she stared down at me from her high place. Jason had his right arm wrapped around her thin waist, exuding the charms of a loyal husband. Edward..... kept staring at the little boy who seemed about his age whom i was protecting. His face which bore the same similarities with Jason had a smug expression.I clenched my fists tightly - resisting the urge to give him a proper beating as an act of discipline for his past mischievousness."Tch!. What's with that haughty attitude?" - She walked up to me, her eyes flashing a cold and calculative glint. I glared back at her silently, my hate knowing no bounds at this point. " Listen to me, Limp!!. Certain things are not to be messed with....... and you seem to be going way beyond
