I dappled my way back to the living room. Tears brewing hot in my eyes as i slumped into the leather sofa. My life had always been perfect, like a well arranged bouquet of roses in a garden. What seemed to be going wrong?!. I chuckled. A low self deprecating laugh that reverberated through my body. It was saddening , but had it always been like this....... for how long?!. I sat there......... alone. Asking myself questions i never once knew needed answering. How much was he hiding from me?. How much was already hidden from me?. My hands gripped the hem of my dress till my knuckles turned a frightening white. Pain seared and simmered in my heart as memories long forgotten came slamming back. Almost as if they had been there the whole time, lurking around and waiting for the perfect time to reappear. The horror, the torment,the pain and the empty void which i had tried so hard to fill up. I could feel them,breathe them. I sat there, immobilized for fifteen minutes. F

I stepped down the flight of stairs, listening to the sound of cheerful laughter. I paused briefly- Jason was back. But they weren't alone. Breathing deeply, i moved towards them. My footsteps silent against the marbled tiles. "You're back" - I flashed a soft smile, my eyes scanning the familiar faces in the room before lingering on a female. She had Edward in her embrace, her red hair falling over her face and down her bare shoulders. With raised eyebrows, i drew a lot - She must be Irina. Jason barely ever brought anyone to our home - but he had made an exception today. She had to be someone special then. I bit the tip of my tongue, bitterness welling up in my heart. I stood before the departing section of the airport, my luggages in hand as i glanced at escalator leading to the boarding section. The airport was filled with people - some with family, others alone. And then there were some like me who were just hoping to flee this world. I sighed - a long, heavy sigh. The sunlight peered through the glass, creating a shadow before me. Three days of careful preparation and now...... i was here. My mind couldn't help but wander to the times I'd sat on floor, in total silence. My tense shoulders relaxed - like as though a heavy burden had been lifted off my shoulders.That was right. I was no longer a wife, neither was I a mother.There were no more strands of relationship binding me to that selfish and ungrateful pair.The freedom to be able to let all hell loose,had never been more enticing as it was today. I took a walk, the chilling breeze blowing into my hair as i watched the night sky. The road was filled with people, mostly pedestrians lining up the sidewalk and that made it easy to bump into each other. Almost... too easy. My mind couldn't help but wander back to the past - to Jason. Though I'm always fond of calling him my past, I've come to realize that he's my present too. And most certainly, he was my future. After all, he's the reason why I'm here. I hadn't actually thought of it earlier but revenge wasn't actually a piece of pie. I was still yet to make plans and time wasn't on my side. The thought of it made me sigh in exasperation. Clouded by my thoughts, i bumped into something. Or rather... someone. I frowned, although I knew that the possibility of bumping into each other by the sidewalk was actually high. Something about this man seemed strange...... he seemed panicked and in a hurry to leave. My hands flipped through the files contained within the envelope as i tried hard to piece one or two together. It was as what the professor had said; these files could only prove that my parents death were more deliberate than an accident. Yet, it didn't provide conclusive evidence on who the perpetrator might be. I flung the files unto the coffee table in annoyance, i had looked over it a hundred times and yet - there was no clue. No trace..... no trails.This was the kind of thing that had me pissed off to no ends - chasing a lead that goes absolutely nowhere. I reclined on the sofa with my thoughts scrambling around and everywhere. Having nothing to do, i switched on the television - hoping to distract my mind and get my thoughts in order.I tuned in to the entertainment channel, the sounds of the t.v soothed my aching mind which made me sigh in relief.I barely ever watched the entertainment news,let alone kept tabs on it. But since i would be entering into the entertain
