SELIORA POV
“Seliora,” I heard, Kaelion call out to me while my head continued to spin. “Take deep breaths.” “I..do..not..think.. I..can,” I stuttered, running my hands through my hair. I was having an anxiety attack. The last time I had one was when my sister died years ago. “You are all right,” Kaelion said pulling me into a tight embrace while I just remained there. After a few minutes, I managed to calm down. “You good now?” He asked, breaking the hug. “Yes,” I replied, walking over to the phone which was still on the table. “Why..Father?” I asked, as my hands trembled. He has broken my trust in him. Not only that, I wondered if he was ever going to tell me the truth that Kaelion didn't threaten to kill me. He lied without hesitation. “Forgive me, Seliora. I will make sure to come get you,” He replied. “I said Why?” I yelled, picking up the phone. “You did this to our pack, you ruined everything. I defended you with all I had in me.” “It’s complicated, Seliora. I had to do it because..,” He said but stopped talking halfway just before he could complete his sentence. “They are here, you have to stay strong.” Afterwards, he ended the call abruptly. I instantly dialled his number but I could no longer reach him. “Who was he referring to?” I muttered. “His accomplice maybe. I have been trying to find out who it is,” Kaelion stated, taking the phone from me while I walked over to the seat. This was it. The end of everything. I had nothing more to fight for. Everything I believed in and fought for was all a lie. My father was a monster. A man who ravaged a pack and murdered an innocent woman. “Your trust in him almost made me doubt myself, Seliora even I was certain he did it,” Kaelion muttered, walking to me. “You were right all along,” I mumbled. “I was a fool, I trusted him blindly.” “You only trusted in what you believed in, Seliora,” He replied. I parted my lips to reply to him but instead, tears rolled down my cheeks. “What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to explain to Thlaric when I finally see him,” I mumbled in between tears. “He will never recover from this.” The tears kept flowing no matter how much I tried to stop them. All the plans I had, the things I did just to make sure Kaelion could pay for what he did to my pack, it was all a waste of time. My father was the one responsible. He had sworn to protect the pack but instead, he got them all killed due to reasons I will never be able to understand even when I find out. “Have it,” Kaelion said some minutes later, handing me a tissue. I slowly looked up at him and collected it before beginning to wipe my tears with it. “You must be happy right now,” I muttered. “You finally got me to see what you have always wanted me to.” “No, Seliora,” He replied. “You really think this justifies what you did to my pack. My father might have been responsible for what had happened to you and I am really sorry you had to go through that but I will never be able to forgive you for forgetting what you did,” I stated, standing up. “I am aware of this, Seliora. You saved my life and for that, I have decided to spare your father’s life. All you have to do is find out why he did this and who his accomplice is then you can leave and go back to your family,” Kaelion said. I was supposed to feel about finally going home but I didn't. Instead, I dreaded the thought of going home to see my father after all that had happened. How was I going to face and look him in the eye? Do I pretend everything was fine in front of Thlaric and my mother or do I tell them what he has done? More questions kept running through my mind. “I need some time alone,” I said, hurrying out of Kaelion’s office and going into my room. As I entered, I walked over to the file which Kaelion had given to me which was lying on the bed, and began to go over and over it again. “There’s nothing here!” I yelled out in frustration. There was no connection. Ember Fang Pack had all the resources, soldiers, and lands we needed. So why? What would father have benefited from doing all of this? I had so many questions. Feeling overwhelmed, I returned to Kaelion’s office. “I need to talk to him again, maybe this time he is going to tell me why he did it and then you can release me,” I muttered. “Sure, go ahead,” Kaelion said, dropping the cell phone on the table which I instantly picked up. I continued to dial the number again and again yet it was still not reachable. “Mother,” I thought to myself. I could call her instead. I then dialled my mother’s number and placed the phone to my ear nervously. “Mother,” I muttered as she picked up the phone. “It’s me, Seliora. I really need to speak to father.” “Your father was just taken, Seliora,” Mother replied in a low voice. “What do you mean by he was taken?” I asked. “Some men broke into the stone glass house where we have been hiding and took him, he was just getting well and preparing to come get you,” Mother answered, weeping. “Do you have any ideas who they could be?” I inquired. “No, Seliora,” She answered. “How is he ever going to rescue you now?” “Do not worry about me, I will call you back soon,” I said, ending the call then looking towards Kaelion. “Did you abduct my father?” Just before he could answer, Jackson stormed into the room. “We have a huge problem,” He announced.SELIORA POV“Someone is here,” I whispered into Kaelion’s ear before slowly peeping into the hospital room.It was Rex.He was in the hospital room to finish what he started just like I had predicted.I could feel Kaelion’s heartbeat race as he leaned towards me and watched Rex make his way slowly towards Zack who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed.I could also feel his anger rising but this was not the time to act. I needed to see if there was anything Rex could do that which give me some clues about why he was doing this.“Stop!” Kaelion growled, rushing out of where we hid as Rex pulled a knife out of his shirt. He immediately gripped Rex’s hand while I watched the scene quietly.“I trusted you, Rex. Why would you betray the pack like this?” Kaelion asked, his voice a bit calmer this time.Rex didn’t look remorseful about what he had done. He only continued to struggle to release the knife in his hands.“Why!” Kaelion barked, finally taking the knife from him and swinging i
SELIORA POVI was completely sure of this. After Jackson had earlier announced Zack had been attacked, I was certain it must have been one of the guards.Back at my pack, there was a way I was able to determine whether a person was telling the truth or lying by listening to the sound of their heartbeats.I did the same to the guards as Jackson interrogated them about the incident. They all had slow and steady heartbeats which told me all I needed to know, they were speaking the truth. This then made me conclude the traitor was a person of a higher rank in the pack. This narrowed my options and left me with two options. Jackson and the head of the pack of soldiers, Rex.Asking Kaelion to call out all of the pack members was a way for me to search Rex’s room. The search was difficult, I had to unlock his room and hurry because he could be back in any minute. For the first two minutes, I kept searching but found nothing that could prove him guilty. Afterwards, I tried to make my way out.
KAELION POVI had nothing to do with what happened to Alpha Thane and since I would really love to explain to Seliora, I had bigger things to worry about.Jackson looked really worried.“The prisoner from the blood moon pack was attacked and almost killed in his cell,” Jackson stated. “I think this might be the same person who attacked Lexi.”“What!” I exclaimed, angrily.Enough was enough.Today was the day I was going to find whoever was doing this. The traitor in the pack had to die today.“How is he?” I asked, storming out of the office angrily with Jackson. “How did the person who did this pass through the guards without being caught?”“He is in the pack hospital. All the guards on duty have been tied down. They all claimed not to know what happened,” Jackson answered. “Whoever did this is not an ordinary pack member, he is someone who nobody would have suspected,” Seliora spoke behind me.“Gather all the pack members, Jackson,” I demanded, as we walked out of the house.Zack co

SELIORA POVI was sure either Kaelion or Jackson was behind this.“I haven’t been here to see him since we arrived back here yesterday,” Kaelion answered with a straight face.“You have to be lying! Why are you doing this?” I barked, facing Zack again before rushing out of the pack cell. There was no way I was going to wait for one more second and listen to more lies about my father.I could hear Kaelion calling out to me as I walked away but I was too upset. I had been looking forward to this day, for the chance to finally clear my father’s name only to be lied to instead.“You have to finally face the truth, Seliora. It's not going to change just because you refuse to believe it!” Kaelion stated, further fueling my anger.“It's all a lie, he is clearly lying and so are you!”I yelled, looking back at him. “You would do anything to make this lie about my father true. He clearly denied knowing my father yesterday. What changed?”“He was not telling the truth, Seliora,” He answered. “No
SELIORA POVI couldn't explain how I felt about the hug, but I could also not deny that it felt good.I could have instantly pushed Kaelion away the minute he pulled me in yet I stood there. I let him hug me after everything. After Jackson took me back to the pack house, I was thrown into the cell. A few hours later, the pack guards dragged me out and made me stand where everyone could see me.Not only was I angry, but I was mad at myself for not thinking.I had the perfect opportunity. I could have gotten the Kysnite and driven Kaelion and the Blood Moon Pack member to my father’s house, but I didn't.Instead, I decided to save the man who was responsible for all the pain I had to go through.“What the hell is wrong with you, Seliora?” I asked myself, walking over to the bed while running my hands through my hair.Back at my pack, I used to make sure I did the right thing. I was calculative, I did everything at the right time but each time Kaelion and I were together, I felt differe
