KAELION POV

I had nothing to do with what happened to Alpha Thane and since I would really love to explain to Seliora, I had bigger things to worry about.

Jackson looked really worried.

“The prisoner from the blood moon pack was attacked and almost killed in his cell,” Jackson stated. “I think this might be the same person who attacked Lexi.”

“What!” I exclaimed, angrily.

Enough was enough.

Today was the day I was going to find whoever was doing this. The traitor in the pack had to die today.

“How is he?” I asked, storming out of the office angrily with Jackson. “How did the person who did this pass through the guards without being caught?”

“He is in the pack hospital. All the guards on duty have been tied down. They all claimed not to know what happened,” Jackson answered.

“Whoever did this is not an ordinary pack member, he is someone who nobody would have suspected,” Seliora spoke behind me.

“Gather all the pack members, Jackson,” I demanded, as we walked out of the house.

Zack could not die. It would cause a huge war between my pack and the blood moon pack.

Storming into the pack hospital, I made my way straight into the emergency room.

“How is he?” I asked, in a loud tone walking in.

“He was stabbed and lost a lot of blood but he is responding to treatment,” The doctor replied.

“Do everything in your power to save him!” I stated, walking out.

I then made my way towards the pack cell where the guards had been tied down.

“How could you all not see who came into the cell?” I asked, angrily.

“He must have gone through the back,” Seliora whispered to me. “You have to address the pack members and try to fish out whoever did this.”

“How?” I inquired.

There was no way whoever it was would give up himself so easily.

“I will handle that,” She muttered, moving slightly away from me.

“I had nothing to do with what happened to your father. I am as confused as you, I will get my men to find him after this is all over,” I said to her in a low tone walking towards Jackson who stood at the back of the guards.

“Get all the pack members here right now!” I instructed.

He immediately walked away while I scanned around the compound anxiously.

My own pack was not safe.

A few minutes later, all of the pack members started to gather around.

I looked over to Seliora who walked towards the crowd and disappeared almost immediately.

“One of you killed Lexi,” I stated. “One of you has betrayed this pack and has continued to do so.”

The pack members began to murmur as I spoke.

I had no idea what else to say or how to even find out who the culprit was.

“What are you doing? You will only make them panic and help whoever is doing this run,” Jackson whispered to me while my eyes continued to scan around the crowd for Seliora.

There was a reason why she must have asked me to gather all of the pack and now she was nowhere to be found.

“I know what I am doing,” I muttered.

“You will be pardoned if you come out right now,” I stated.

Every one of the pack members went silent.

They only looked sideways at each other in confusion.

“Zack is not dead, he will talk when he wakes up. If I were you I would start talking,” Seliora stated in a loud tone, making her way through the crowd.

“What is she doing?” Jackson whispered to me.

“I have no idea,” I muttered.

“You have no right to interfere in the pack's affairs. Your father destroyed us, you do not belong here,” One of the pack members growled, charging towards Seliora who stood and just watched him with a straight face.

“How do we do she is not the killer?” Another one of the pack members yelled.

“Stop!” I demanded. “You all can go now, we are done here.”

All of the pack members started to walk towards the pack house as Seliora made her where towards where I stood with Jackson.

“You cannot just address them like that, Seliora. They do not want you here or even want to see your face,” Jackson said to her.

“I am aware but this concerns me because whoever is doing this is the key to all of the questions I have,” She answered. “Is Zack going to be okay?”

“Yes,” I replied.

“Can we talk?” Seliora asked.

“Sure,” I muttered, looking towards Jackson before walking away with her.

“Where were you earlier?” I asked as we walked.

“I went into the pack house to search the rooms,” She said, in a low tone. “I figured whoever was doing this must have the arrow stashed somewhere in the house.”

Seliora's plans didn’t seem like something that could have worked for me. There were hundreds of rooms in the pack house, she could not have searched it all in a few minutes she left.

“I can get Jackson to go search all the rooms now that you mention it,” I said.

I didn’t know why I had not thought of that earlier.

“You don’t have to do that, I found something,” She said, gently raising her shirt to reveal a small arrow tucked underneath it. “I found the same arrow in one of the rooms.”

“How did you know which room to search?” I asked, watching her in disbelief.

“I had my suspicions,” She answered. “I have spent some time thinking about Lexi’s death which made me realise it was one of your guards who killed her.”

“How?” I asked.

“The speed at which he was able to escape. The garden is closer to the guard quarters than the pack house,” She replied. “I think Rex might be the traitor, I found it in his room.”

“No way,” I uttered firmly.

Not only was Rex one of my most trusted men, he was like a brother to me.

SELIORA POV“Someone is here,” I whispered into Kaelion’s ear before slowly peeping into the hospital room.It was Rex.He was in the hospital room to finish what he started just like I had predicted.I could feel Kaelion’s heartbeat race as he leaned towards me and watched Rex make his way slowly towards Zack who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed.I could also feel his anger rising but this was not the time to act. I needed to see if there was anything Rex could do that which give me some clues about why he was doing this.“Stop!” Kaelion growled, rushing out of where we hid as Rex pulled a knife out of his shirt. He immediately gripped Rex’s hand while I watched the scene quietly.“I trusted you, Rex. Why would you betray the pack like this?” Kaelion asked, his voice a bit calmer this time.Rex didn’t look remorseful about what he had done. He only continued to struggle to release the knife in his hands.“Why!” Kaelion barked, finally taking the knife from him and swinging i

SELIORA POVI was completely sure of this. After Jackson had earlier announced Zack had been attacked, I was certain it must have been one of the guards.Back at my pack, there was a way I was able to determine whether a person was telling the truth or lying by listening to the sound of their heartbeats.I did the same to the guards as Jackson interrogated them about the incident. They all had slow and steady heartbeats which told me all I needed to know, they were speaking the truth. This then made me conclude the traitor was a person of a higher rank in the pack. This narrowed my options and left me with two options. Jackson and the head of the pack of soldiers, Rex.Asking Kaelion to call out all of the pack members was a way for me to search Rex’s room. The search was difficult, I had to unlock his room and hurry because he could be back in any minute. For the first two minutes, I kept searching but found nothing that could prove him guilty. Afterwards, I tried to make my way out.

I..can,” I stuttered, running my hands through my hair.I was having an anxiety attack. The last time I had one was when my sister died years ago.“You are all right,” Kaelion said pulling me into a tight embrace while I just remained there. After a few minutes, I managed to calm down.“You good now?” He asked, breaking the hug.“Yes,” I replied, walking over to the phone which was still on the table.“Why..Father?” I asked, as my hands trembled. He has broken my trust in him. Not only that, I wondered if he was ever going to tell me the truth that Kaelion didn't threaten to kill me.He lied without hesitation.“Forgive me, Seliora. I will make sure to come get you,” He replied.“I said Why?” I yelled, picking up the phone. “You did this to our pack, you ruined everything. I defended you with all I had in me.”“It’s complicated, Seliora. I had to do it bec

SELIORA POVI was sure either Kaelion or Jackson was behind this.“I haven’t been here to see him since we arrived back here yesterday,” Kaelion answered with a straight face.“You have to be lying! Why are you doing this?” I barked, facing Zack again before rushing out of the pack cell. There was no way I was going to wait for one more second and listen to more lies about my father.I could hear Kaelion calling out to me as I walked away but I was too upset. I had been looking forward to this day, for the chance to finally clear my father’s name only to be lied to instead.“You have to finally face the truth, Seliora. It's not going to change just because you refuse to believe it!” Kaelion stated, further fueling my anger.“It's all a lie, he is clearly lying and so are you!”I yelled, looking back at him. “You would do anything to make this lie about my father true. He clearly denied knowing my father yesterday. What changed?”“He was not telling the truth, Seliora,” He answered. “No

I let him hug me after everything. After Jackson took me back to the pack house, I was thrown into the cell. A few hours later, the pack guards dragged me out and made me stand where everyone could see me.Not only was I angry, but I was mad at myself for not thinking.I had the perfect opportunity. I could have gotten the Kysnite and driven Kaelion and the Blood Moon Pack member to my father’s house, but I didn't.Instead, I decided to save the man who was responsible for all the pain I had to go through.“What the hell is wrong with you, Seliora?” I asked myself, walking over to the bed while running my hands through my hair.Back at my pack, I used to make sure I did the right thing. I was calculative, I did everything at the right time but each time Kaelion and I were together, I felt differe
