Chapter 22

Amos stepped back until his body was pressed against the stone door.

The creature looked like a dog but was so big, it was as tall as Amos. Feeling in danger, Amos tried to get out of there. He opened the door, but it didn't move at all.

"Oh, what's going on?" he screamed in panic. He saw the big dog coming closer and closer to him.

His shoulders trembled even more when he heard the dog growling in an unfriendly manner. He was sure that if it attacked him, he would die instantly.

"Please open it!" pleaded Amos, as he did everything he could to force the stone door open. He was sure he had only shifted the door to close it. But why couldn't he open it now?

Amos turned around, seeing the dog only three meters away from him. He immediately held his breath, trying to stay calm, even though his chest was pounding.

"Hi, I'm not a bad guy," Amos said, trying to engage the dog in conversation. But the dog didn't seem to appreciate Amos' friendly words. Because its sharp fangs stuck out even m
