Chapter 18.

CELESTE:

“Celeste! Celeste, you won’t believe it! Help me open the door please.” Esme’s voice called from behind the door. She sounded excited.

“At least you didn’t frighten me today. Glory to Jesus.” I responded as I unlocked the door.

Esme rushed in, holding a bouquet of flowers and a pack of chocolate bars. My eyes widened on seeing them.

“Oh my. Who brought this? The kids would be so happy to see them. Let’s put it down and—“

Esme pulled back a little.

“Girl, slow down. These aren’t for the kids.” She stated, and I raised a brow.

“Huh? Who are they for? Sister Theresa?” I innocently remarked, but Esme burst into laughter.

“That one? Receiving flowers? The only flowers she might ever get are the ones on her grave.” Esme sneered.

“Shh.” I scolded, looking around. “Careful what you say, the walls have ears.” Esme just rolled her eyes.

“Whatever. By the way, these are for you.” She revealed with a very wide smile which revealed her dimples. I froze in disbelief as Esme n

Chapter 17Christian:I stood in front of the mirror adjusting my tie, while Matteo read out the details of the meeting he had attended on my behalf.“Okay then.” I responded, when he went silent.“Okay? Do you have any thoughts? Suggestions? Questions?” He inquired and I shook my head.“Not at all. Do your thing.” I curtly replied. Matteo had a puzzled expression on his face. “Is something bothering you?” He questioned.“I wonder how she’s fairing.” I responded and he smiled in genuine amusement.“Oh, I see. Celeste Williams. I could make a call now and—“ “No, don’t worry about that.” I cut in.“Why? Don’t you plan on reaching out in some sort of way? You are so difficult to understand.” “You are not making a call. You’re going there yourself. I don’t trust them over there.” I instructed.“Yes sir. What would you want me to do when I get there? I know she has a very good friend called Esme, I might just go through her.” “I trust your judgement, Matteo. Get the private jet ready,

  • SIN FOR ME, VIRGIN NUN   Grievances

CHAPTER 16.Celeste’s POV:It’s been four whole days since my ordeal. Everyone seemed to have softened up towards me, and I actually loved it. I had never fallen that sick before so it probably came as a shock to everyone, including myself. Mother Lucia had specifically instructed that no tasks be assigned to me for two weeks until I am completely recovered. How wonderful. Some of the other postulants were not comfortable with the arrangements but they just couldn’t question her authority. Two whole weeks of doing nothing? Count me in. I spent all my time at the orphanage, teaching the little ones how to do some easy scribbling tasks and the older ones how to identify colors.Sister Theresa on the other hand, completely ignored me. I mean, it wasn’t bad at all. I’d rather be ignored than be her next worthy victim. I guess her conscience was pricking her really badly after what happened to me as she knew it was seventy percent her fault. I was having fun being with the kids and all,

  • SIN FOR ME, VIRGIN NUN   HIGH FEVER.

CHAPTER 15.CELESTE:Sister Theresa didn’t let me off after that. There was no way she was going to do so. My head was still banging as I uprooted the weeds in the garden with my bare hands.“Celeste, you shouldn’t be doing this. This is wickedness at this point.” Esme angrily said, her hands tightly wrapped around the bars surrounding the garden. “Why are you so worried? I’ve done this so many times. It’s not as if I’m going to die doing it.” I responded, with a slight shudder.“Oh please, leave it be. I’m already helping out. Go sit down or something.” She reprimanded.“It’s fine. I can manage.” I tried to convince her, but she didn’t look convinced. She walked up to me and pulled me up.“You sound so pale and—Oh my goodness, Celeste, you’re burning up! You have a fever!” She shrieked in panic.“What? No. I'm fine. I am probably just reacting to the sunlight.” I shrugged it off, and she scoffed.“Now, this is the height of it.” She let go of me to pick up our stuff, and I staggered

CHAPTER 14.CHRISTAIN:“Matteo, I need you to do something for me.” I stated as I stepped out of the car. He shut the door behind me and took off my coat.“What is it?” He questioned.“Keep an eye on Celeste—and Sister Theresa. I think she might be mistreated by her. I have noticed the fear in her eyes whenever she sees her. The kids too—““Theresa? She is a disciplinarian. It’s nothing. Whoever goes against her rules gets punished.” Matteo responded, in an attempt to wave off my thoughts. My brows furrowed on hearing that.“No. I don’t believe that. If there’s one thing I know, it is the fact that Celeste is really obedient.” I argued, and Matteo shrugged.“Okay. I’ll do my findings. If she is actually being mistreated, what do I do to Theresa?” He asked, and my eyes darkened.A cruel smile laced my lips. “Leave that to me.”I returned to my bedroom, and just as I was about to take off my shirt, her face flooded into my vision.“Little Angel”. I mumbled, a small smile playing on my l

  • SIN FOR ME, VIRGIN NUN   A ROSARY FOR MY SILENCE

CHAPTER 13CELESTE:My feet hurt badly now. I had been standing at a spot for the past three hours now, waiting for the candle flames to go out. Sister Theresa had lit five big candles, and was only going to question me when they went out. Till then, I was going to keep standing. My tummy was rumbling hungrily, it was way past dinner time. Sister Theresa had gotten her meal down to her bedroom with the excuse that she didn’t feel so good.Esme was right. She is a horrible witch! Two of the candles had gone out now. At this point, I could barely feel my legs.“Stop moving!” She ordered the moment I tried to wriggle my legs.“Sister, my legs are aching.” I mumbled.“Are the candles out now?” She questioned, and I meekly shook my head in negation.“So, shut up.” She responded, glaring at me. I wondered what doctrine she lived by, because only a follower of Jezebel would act like that. She knelt down beside her bed to say the rosary, and I stared at her with contempt. Dear Lord, Mother
