#24: SINCERITY

Colt was standing alongside Lilith's bed as she opened her eyes. She then hurriedly sat down in her bed, her gaze diverted from Colt.
"How are you doing? Are you hungry?" Colt inquired.
Lilith whispered, her cheeks flushed, "I'm OK."
She was overjoyed that Colt had finally spoken to her, and she was also relieved that Colt was concerned about her safety. Colt's sudden concern for her caught her off guard because she assumed he was still angry with her.
"That's good," Colt said as he began to rise from Lilith's bed. "You should shower first, then eat," he added.
"All right," Lilith said as she rose from her bed, still avoiding looking at Colt.
After a few more seconds, Lilith observed Colt approaching her room, indicating that he was about to leave.
Lilith inquired, "Where are you going?"

..... Colt shut off the machine boat and stepped out of the boat as soon as their speedboat came to a stop at the side of a little bridge. "We've arrived. Just a short walk ahead," Colt said as he extended his hand to Lilith. Lilith mumbled sheepishly, "Thank you," as she took Colt's hand in hers without looking at him. Colt then grabs her and pulls her from the speedboat. Colt didn't let go of Lilith's hands as he began walking, instead clutching them securely. As a result, they were strolling down the steep road, hand in hand, with the rising mountains in the distance. But Lilith's focus was elsewhere: on her and Colt's hands, which were entwined as they walked together. Lilith's cheek began to warm. She could also feel Colt's soft hand on hers. She grinned and clenched her grip on Colt's hand. Colt sensed it right away and quietly smiled as a result.
