CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Throbbing.

That was the first thing Megan noticed as she tried pulling her lids apart and open her eyes.

The Throbbing in her head hurt and made her wince and her hands hurt worse.

She felt groggy, probably from all the pain killers and anesthetics she'd been pumped full of.

Finally, there was a little success as her eyelids gave way a little and she could take in her surrounding.

A hospital room.

She was on a bed, and her body hurt like hell. 

She tried to remember how she got here and why.

The memory wasn't quite clear at first but she was remembering.

It hurt to remember. 

He'd come barging into her house and he'd asked her to give up what she had on him.

He and the two younger and uglier men he'd come with had beat her up and they had laughed while they did it.
