AEON. As much as I wanted to stay the night with Alexa, I knew my father must be waiting for updates about the attack. I was left with no choice but to return to the pack house immediately. But I promised her I would try my best to take her to Riley’s pack - not just because she wanted to be there but because I had to spend days in Riley’s pack for the game plan that we had to come up with to counter Achilles’ attack. And leaving her here while I was away for a few days would be torture, not just because I would miss her, but more because I would be thinking about her safety. The pack house was already quiet, but there were still lights illuminating some of the rooms. Some of the warriors were probably hanging out until it was their turn to do the patrol. I wanted to kick him in the nuts for holding Alexa in such a painful way, but I knew it was best for father to see it this way. Alexa’s face was filled with fear. That’s just what I wanted to get from her reaction. This was the reason I kept everything from her because even if my father couldn’t read her mind, he would be able to sense her emotions. "Answer me, Aeon? What the fuck is this?" My father bellowed, and I knew he was furious now. He went out of the territory, and I thought I had time to leave before they could come home and just let Krane explain to him. But they returned all of a sudden, so I had to immediately ask my warriors to take Alexa here. LADY KATARINA. "What are friends for? It’s a pleasure to help, Alpha Aeon. As long as we all get out of this alive, then I’m in." I told Aeon this in full honesty. After meeting Alexa, I asked Nadia about her, and she didn’t hide anything about what she knew. And although I didn’t know Alexa personally, my heart broke for her. I felt guilty for being a threat to her happiness. So I was willing to make up for it. I came here to speak with Aeon, and I wanted to ask him if we could let Alexa know I wasn’t a threat. That I meant no harm to her and their mate bond. But before I could say any of those, something hit my nose. It was intoxicating. Addicting, I might say. I knew my stomach rumbled earlier, a signal that I was hungry already, but this smell I was smelling was making me hungry for something else. AEON. Riley was nice enough to assist us with my request. He gave us two hours, and although it was short, it was enough for now. It was also for Alexa’s safety, as he had explained to her. He didn’t want any of his people to find out that he let in a rogue within their territory and allowed her to roam around. After dinner, we were shown the rooms that were assigned to us at the next building nearest to the pack house. Although two rooms were given, I placed my duffel bag in the room assigned to Alexa. Aside from the fact that I wanted to spend time with her, there was no way I would let her out of my sight and my arms tonight. I trusted Riley, but I didn’t trust anyone else. Alexa was too important for me to slack off on her security. Alexa was excited to let Serenity out, but she had no idea that I was more excited than her. I was just not showing it. Not yet.
