SEAN'S POV

The pain twisted through my side, sharp and unforgiving. My fingers pressed against the wound, feeling the sticky warmth of fresh blood seeping through my shirt. My breathing grew heavier, my body betraying me. This wasn't supposed to happen.

I should have healed already.

This is wrong. So wrong. My wolf should have kicked in by now, mending the wound, erasing the pain. Something's interfering with my abilities.

I clenched my jaw, forcing my body to stay still, but the burning sensation only intensified, spreading like wildfire. My mind screamed at me—poison. The realization hit me like a punch to the gut. Someone had done this on purpose. Someone wanted me to suffer.

Who would do this? Who would know how to create something that could disable a wolf's healing? The list of people with that knowledge is short. The list of people who hate me enough to use it is not.

And the worst part?

I deserved it.

Every moment of this agony is karma. The universe collecting its debt for al

Mia's POVI stood in the middle of my new living room, hands on my hips, taking in the small but cozy apartment that Daisy and I had just finished furnishing. Sunlight poured through the wide windows, catching dust motes and highlighting the pale-blue walls we'd spent all yesterday painting."What do you think?" I asked, turning to Daisy who was arranging throw pillows on our new cream-colored sofa."It's beautiful," she replied, stepping back to admire our work. "You've got yourself a real home now."I smiled faintly, feeling a strange mix of accomplishment and loss wash over me. "Yeah... a real home, finally."But it's not the home I thought I'd have. Not the one with four mates who were supposed to love me forever. The past few days had been a whirlwind of activity—shopping trips for essentials, late-night unpacking sessions, and decorating every corner of this new space. I knew what Daisy was doing—keeping me busy so my mind wouldn't wander back to them. To Sean, Nathan, Xavier, a

XAVIER'S POVStanding outside Mia's family home felt like a cruel déjà vu. This place had always symbolized our best memories—and now, our worst nightmares. The last time I stood here, she was still mine—ours. We were happy. How did everything fall apart so fast?Nathan knocked on the door again, harder this time. The tension in his shoulders matched mine exactly. Beside us, Sean paced restlessly while Rolex stared grimly at the ground. The four of us—brothers and mates to one woman—now united in our desperation. The door swung open, but it wasn't Mia's father. It was one of their pack warriors, his face a mask of barely contained hostility."Alpha Xavier," he said, his voice devoid of welcome. "You're not invited here.""We're not leaving until we see Mia's father," Nathan replied firmly, stepping slightly forward. I recognized the stubborn set of his jaw—he wouldn't back down. None of us would."He made it clear—""I don't care what he said," I snapped, stepping forward. My patience

Mia’s POVI folded another shirt into my suitcase, hands trembling slightly as I zipped it shut. Daisy stood by my side, quiet and supportive, helping me pack the last of my things.“Are you sure you have everything?” she asked softly.“Yes,” I whispered, glancing around my room one last time. It felt emptier now, as if it knew I was never coming back. The sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway, and Lucas appeared in the doorway. He watched me silently for a moment, a rare sadness visible in his eyes.“You ready?” he finally asked.“As ready as I'll ever be.”He walked toward me, pulling me gently into a comforting embrace. It startled me—I wasn't used to tenderness from him."You really don't have to do this alone," Lucas said, patting my back like an elder brother. "If you change your mind, I'll come with you right now."I looked up at my brother, seeing the fierce protection in his eyes. He doesn't understand. No one can protect me from this. My fingers traced the folded boarding

Nathan's POV"We should've told her."The words spilled from my lips before I could catch them—a confession that had been festering inside me for days. My chest felt hollow after saying it out loud, like lancing a wound. Why did we think this would work? She's our mate—the ONE mate for all four of us, and we drove her away.It was second time we have pushed her, and hurt her. How can we face her again with our shameless behaviour? Mates meant a husband, a partner but we proved again that we are nothing but monsters. Sean's eyes met mine, bloodshot and weary. "Yeah. We should have." His voice carried the weight of sleepless nights and regret.I couldn't stay still, my body vibrating with restless energy as I paced across the room. "We played the long game," I muttered, running a hand through my hair. "Tried to keep her safe. But we treated her like shit in the process." And now we're paying for it. I'm paying for it, seeing her face when she looked at me that last time.Xavier exhaled

Xavier's POVI stared at my phone again. Still no response. Pathetic how I keep checking it, as if my desperation could somehow will her message into existence.Call after call—voicemail. Texts left on read. Nothing from Mia for days.I threw the phone onto the table, cursing under my breath. "We pushed her too far." And I let it happen. I could have stopped this."Yeah?" Sean's voice cut from the side of the room. "What gave that away? The public humiliation or the part where we threw her out in the rain?"I looked up. Sean, Rolex, and Nathan sat around the meeting table in our underground chamber—soundproofed and heavily shielded from pack surveillance. This wasn't a regular conversation. This was the meeting I should've called the moment I saw Mia collapse. The image of her body hitting the ground haunts me every time I close my eyes."I asked you here because… I think we went too far," I admitted, my voice rough. An understatement if there ever was one.Nathan crossed his arms. "Y

Mia's POVThe door creaked open as Daisy returned, juggling a tray of soup and fruit, nudging the door closed with her hip. Her smile vanished the moment she saw me sitting bolt upright in bed, clutching my phone like it might bite me.They found me. After everything, they still won't let me go."What happened?" Daisy rushed to my side, nearly spilling the soup in her hurry. My fingers trembled so badly I could barely hold out the phone. "He called. Xavier. Just now."His name on my screen felt like an invasion. Like he was already here, in this room.Daisy glanced at the screen, then gently pried the phone from my white-knuckled grip and set it face-down on the nightstand. "Hey, it's okay. You didn't answer. You turned it off. That's all that matters.""What if they tracked it?" The words came out in a panicked whisper as my mind raced through worst-case scenarios. "What if they find out where I am?"I can't run again. Not like this. Not while I'm still bleeding."They won't," she sa

Mia's POVThe world was white and quiet.A soft beeping, the faint scent of antiseptic, and the heaviness of my body all told me one thing—I was in a hospital. My thoughts swam lazily through a fog, struggling to piece together how I'd gotten here. The last thing I remember was... pain. So much pain. And their faces, watching me fall.I blinked open my eyes slowly, wincing at the harsh fluorescent light. My body felt like it had been run over by a truck, every muscle protesting as I tried to shift position."Mia!" Daisy's voice broke into my haze, and before I knew it, she was gripping my hand, her eyes wide with worry. "Oh, thank the Goddess, you're awake."I tried to speak but choked on the dryness in my throat. My tongue felt like sandpaper against the roof of my mouth, and panic flashed through me as memories started flooding back."The… baby?" I whispered, barely getting the words out. Please, please let my baby be okay. She sat on the edge of the bed, brushing a few strands of h

Mia's POVI drifted back to consciousness slowly, like swimming up from deep water. The first thing I registered was the softness beneath me and a scent I knew intimately—cedarwood and mint. My eyes flew open as my heart skipped painfully. This is my old room. Our room. How did I get here?Confusion flooded through me as I took in the familiar surroundings—the pale blue walls, my favorite quilt folded at the foot of the bed, my dog-eared books still lined up on the shelf. Nothing had changed, yet everything had.Did they bring me back here? Why would they do that after everything that happened? My hand moved instinctively to my stomach, fingers spreading protectively over the tiny life growing within me. The memories of what happened before I passed out came rushing back—the cruel laughter, the humiliation, the feeling of my knees against the hard floor as they forced me to crawl. My baby felt that. All that stress, that fear. I should have been stronger.I sat up carefully, wincing a

MIA’S POV"Why are you here?" Sean asked. His voice cut through me like he was addressing a stranger who'd wandered in off the street. Not the woman he'd held in his arms countless nights. Not the woman he'd whispered promises to in the dark. How can he look at me that way? Like I'm nothing to him? The music died suddenly. Everyone turned to stare, drinks paused midway to lips, conversations hanging unfinished in the air. I felt their eyes crawling over me—soaking wet from the rain, hair plastered to my face, chest heaving with each ragged breath."You're seriously asking me that?" My voice came out stronger than I felt. I took a step forward, then another. "Are you all completely insane? Your father just died, and you're throwing a damn party like nothing happened?"They should be grieving. We all should be. Instead, they're celebrating while I'm carrying their child alone.A few guests shifted uncomfortably, exchanging glances. Others watched with barely concealed interest, like th
