MY WOLF MARKED YOU, NOT ME!

JASSICA POV.

My stomach was grumbling so loud, I was so hungry, my stomach was empty and all I could think of is food. I hugged my stomach, using my arm to supress the hunger I was feeling but it was hopeless.

The door opened and I felt a relief when I saw it’s Sasha. Seems the king is back and I will be taken to the dinner table.

“My queen”. Sasha bowed her head and I stood up from the bed. “Shall we?”. She lifted her head and adjusted the door opened.

I nodded my head slightly and stood up from the bed. I majestically watched my step to avoid stepping on my dress and tripping down. She compelled me downstairs till with arrived at the dinner table and the first thing my gaze met was the food arranged on the table.

The long table was filled with different types of meal. Looking at the food I could tell it’s delicious. There is a cob salad, S’mores, Cronut, Chicken and Waffles, Pancakes, Mac and Cheese. Their mixed scent were alluring and it made my mouth watering.

I darted my gaze over King Lucifer and observed him for a while. He was looking like a god in his royal robe, staring at his face made my knees weaken. I couldn’t believe I was blessed with such a attractive man as my mate, an Alpha.

I became nervous when I caught him stealing glance at me like I was some piece of meat but I maintained my calm self. I was gestured to seat three chairs away from him as the table was long and massive, it has chairs all around. The chairs were medium apart that of the one he was seating, which was huge.

I could still notice his eyes on me and it made me began to think awardly.

‘why is he staring at me?’

‘why I’m I nervous?’

‘I thought he rejected me so why I’m I here?’

Those questions kept on running wild in my head.

I shivered when I heard his dominant voice uttered.

“You can think whatever you want Jessica but you are here as a slave not as my mate”. He respond to the last question and my eyes lit up. The fact that he called me his slave and not his mate made me angry. My wolf was hurt by his words. This was the same thing my father said to my mother and I am not gonna tolerate it. I won’t let him use me same way my dad used my mom.

“Maybe I am over reacting, maybe he didn’t mean”. I soliloquize just to calm my nerves but that wasn’t enough.

What’s the need for bringing me here if his going to use me as his slave. He must be kidding because I will never let that happen, I am nobody’s slave.

I glanced at him which was a mistake because he darted his eyes over to the plate, pretending not meet my gaze. I was curious as to how he knows my name. “How do you know my name?”. I asked, forgetting werewolf are supernatural creatures with special gifts.

“Will you shut up and eat!”. He demanded, in a strong deep voice that made my heart beat races and my wolf whimpered in fear.

I began to eat the food since I was hungry. I ate hungrily because the food tasted so good. I haven’t eaten such kind of food in my entire life and this is my first, dam it taste so good. I didn’t care if he looks disgusted because I was dam hungry right now.

He stood up and I paused to look at him. I wanted to ask him what’s wrong since he haven’t eaten much from his plate but I choosed to keep quiet. I watch him leave my presence with his face that showed anger and disgust all over it. If he doesn’t likes me why did he bring me here, why did he marked me as his mate if he doesn’t have any feelings for me. It made me wondered. I haven’t felt this emotional before for been treated badly by anyone, maybe is because of the mate bond.

“And Jessica”. He called and my body went numb. His voice sounded so soothing when he called my name, the way he mentioned it made me feel goose bump all over my stomach.

I didn’t know how to respond to his call so I just turned to look at his back that was facing me.

“My wolf marked you, not me”. He said in a cold voice, I felt like a knife was pierced deep into my chest by hearing him say that. “Call me lord Lucifer when no one is around”. He said and I swallowed hard the pains that were sanking in my heart. “And your lord, when people are around”. He said and dismissed.

When I couldn’t feel his present anymore, I blinked twice and allowed the tears welling in my eyes to roll down. What’s the difference of been rejected and marked by someone who doesn’t care. “Be strong Jess”. I assured myself.

My wolf was in pain and it was affecting me. We were both hurt by the words that came out of his mouth.

I dropped the spoon on the table, I have lost my appetite in the food even though I haven’t eaten enough.

“My lady”. Sasha called as she strode towards me, her head was facing the ground and her hands were intertwined. “Shall we?”. She asked and I nodded.

I really needed to sleep and forget that this never happened because next time I won’t let him hurt me. I wiped the tears in my face and stood up. She took the lead and I followed her from behind.

She unlocked the door to my room and I entered. “Good night my lady”. She said in a whispered and locked the door before she dismissed.

I walked to the bed and flopped on it. I was facing the ceiling, staring at it. I wish he would have just rejected me, wouldn’t that be better? No that would have been worst because back there in my pack I was living like a total slave. So what’s the difference if I choose to go back. It’s better I stay and tolerate the treatment I get from my mate. I adjusted and rolled round the massive bed to find a comfort zone so I could sleep, but I was finding it hard to.

I groan and turned to the side, scared of what tomorrow might turns out to be. I closed my eyes tightly and forced myself to sleep.
