Veronica's POV

It seemed as though the only thing we needed for the bond between cade and I to finally click was just the meeting at his school.

I took him to the park the next day and there, I began to discover new traits about him that I did not know existed in the first place.

He was a jovial and lively child that enjoyed playing in the sand. His tough facade was just a way to keep out the people he felt insecure about and for the first few weeks, I was sure that things were perfect,just how they were.

Alpha Lloyd stayed away from me and would not talk to me if it did not involve cade and I was grateful. The last thing I wanted was another man in my life who would make me fall in love with him and then leave at the slightest whim.
