MELISSA'S POV

“Gavin..."

The word had barely left my lips when his grip released my waist and I went tumbling down— fast.

I landed roughly on the rough wood— my spine landed spot on, sending a wave of pain spiralling through out my body.

I grasped, holding tightly onto my now partially-broken spine.

I sat on the floor, eyes blazing red as I glanced up at the face of the man I loved, and a pang a pain hit my chest— not from the fall, but

MELISSA'S POV “Gavin..."The word had barely left my lips when his grip released my waist and I went tumbling down— fast. I landed roughly on the rough wood— my spine landed spot on, sending a wave of pain spiralling through out my body. I grasped, holding tightly onto my now partially-broken spine. I sat on the floor, eyes blazing red as I glanced up at the face of the man I loved, and a pang a pain hit my chest— not from the fall, butGavin glanced at his hands then me like he couldn't understand why he did what he did. Our eyes met and the world seemed to stop, it was as though we were just seeing each other for the first time. ‎MELISSA'S POV ‎‎The impact came like a cannon to my ribs, lifting me clean off the ground. For a heartbeat, I was weightless — suspended between breath and death.‎The card slipped from my fingers.‎I hit the pavement hard.‎In a second I found myself lying on the freezing black tar. ‎Then came a flit of panicked screams flooding towards me.‎Foots

  • SURVIVING THE DEMON GAMES WITH THE LYCAN KING   THE TRAP

MELISSA'S POV I glanced up towards the slightly hoarse feminine voice— my mind blank like a sheet of paper, but what I saw left me in Awe .I raised my eyes only to come face to face with a hollow shell of a female face with sunken features. My heart skipped, I stumbled for a split second— before stabilizing myself. I glanced up at the face of the woman before me, my body trembling with fear as the memories resurfaced in my mind. The woman before me was one of the zombies I had linked to myself at some point of the game. The zombie dropped to her knees— her face a mask of panic. “Mistress is everything alright? Did I startle you?" she asked, her voice drawl and rigid like she was using up all little energy she had just to ask that question. I shook by head. “Not at all, it has nothing to do with you."Her stiff face immediately relaxed. Her lips broke into a broad smile which exposed her half rotten, yellow teeth. “Mistress, I will lead you back to camp," she offered, reachin

  • SURVIVING THE DEMON GAMES WITH THE LYCAN KING   ESCAPE

THIRD PERSON'S POV A cold feeling of dread enveloped the abandoned building. Melissa stood there completely frozen. A cold sweat beating on her forehead. Her lips were partially open but no words fell. He legs shock like jelly in a hot pant, more like a rusty robot trying to run out of danger. Her heart raced. Her eyes locked onto Medusa who had these creepy smirk on her face— her eyes gleaming with a blinding green glow.Medusa's snake raised their heads, their tongue sprout out— ready to attack. This was it, Melissa's final fight she was definitely not going to make it out of here alive. But what if??? What if she closed her eyes? “She couldn't possibly get petrified if she didn't stare into Medusa's eyes," Melissa thought, but the moment she tried to act on that thought, she found out, most things are easier said than done. Melissa tried twitching her eyelids but for some reason they simply wouldn't cooperate. She could move, couldn't blink, her vision began blurring.

  • SURVIVING THE DEMON GAMES WITH THE LYCAN KING   MEDUSA

MELISSA'S POV My breathe hitched. This was it— I was going to die.The building seemed to be trembling underneath my feet.I closed my lips tightly with my hands— to scared to make a sound.Medusa stood before me, her unfocused gazed sweeping across the room in a haphazard manner. It was then it dawned on me, she hadn't seen me.I let out a small breathe of relief.Swiftly, I stepped back— creating some distance between myself and the wardrobe's opening. There was no way in hell I was going to be anywhere close to that monster.A cold hiss filled the air.My blood froze.I stood still, as water, wait, silently praying that by some stroke of faith, she would just walk pass without noticing a thing.Medusa strutted confidently across the room, her dark shadow cascading behind her.I could hear the sound of metal anklets clasped together. The clicking sound of her hand against the wooden furniture felt like a silent countdown to my ears.“Come out, come out wherever you are," Medusa's

  • SURVIVING THE DEMON GAMES WITH THE LYCAN KING   GAME BEGIN

Melissa's POV The sky went dark without warning. My heart sunk. I had a bad feeling about this. It was one thing to play hide and seek with monsters, and other was playing that same game in the depth of night. This was their comfort zone, where they strived the most. We were in big trouble, we knew that much but we couldn't escape. I blinked for a second and boom— I found myself in the middle of no where, alone. Sylvia was gone, so were my Zombies. A cold chill ran off my spine. I shook my head trying to understand what just happened. One moment I was standing in a crowded garden, trying to recover from the previous nightmare… the next, I was stuck in a big city— with gigantic buildings and abandoned roads. The atmosphere was filled with the violent howling of wolves and owls. A heavy silence fell over the entire forest, leaving behind just the sound of my racing heart. I immediately pulled out my daggers, slowly scanning the environment. Then— DING. Th

  • SURVIVING THE DEMON GAMES WITH THE LYCAN KING   HIDE AND SEEK

MELISSA'S POV “Player 68 has been eliminated," the system's voice cut through my daze. The earth rumbled beneath me, a deafening growl that sent my heart racing. The worm burst from the ground, its massive body writhing like a living whip.Screams pierced the air as players scattered, their feet pounding the dirt. A player tumbled to the ground, his legs tangled in a mess of vines. The worm's jaws yawned wide, a dark cavern of death, and swallowed him whole. As though the other players weren't scared enough, now their hairs were practically turning white with fear.A handful of them ran towards the same direction, they slipped, falling on each other like a school of sardines in a can.I tried to scream, to run, but my legs felt leaden, stuck in place. Finally, I summoned enough courage but the moment I took a step forward— the ground trembled and I fell face first in the dirt.I crashed heavily against the sandy ground.A loud thud echoed as my forehead collided with a small rock.B
