Part 11 - Boss Daddy

I didn't realize how fast he was, but I was already held in his tight unyielding grip. His fingers tightened around my arms, stopping me from leaving the room.

"Stop," he growled. It was a command that brought me to an abrupt halt. His tone gave me no room for argument.

"Daxton!" Caroline's voice whined behind him. "You don't need her anymore. I will break up with Jovan. I love you." She said in a heartrending voice, making me feel worse than seeing him on his lap.

I couldn't meet Dax's eyes. I didn't want to witness his reaction to Caroline's confession. He could now return to her arms again, leaving me with a heavy heart. It was heart-wrenching, but what could I do? What we had had all been an act, a facade.
