The moon consumed the day. Still, Sarah’s eyes fixed at the entry gate, clutching tight to her phone hoping to get a call from Mike. Her wait came to an end at 10 pm. To her disappointment, it is Robert and Jessica. She broke down in tears on Jessica’s shoulder and told them everything that had happened. It wasn’t until 11 pm, Sarah decided to call Joseph to check if he knows Mike’s whereabouts.

“Rob, come on pumpkin. I have a surprise for you…” Jessica’s teasing tone was enough for Robert to ignore Mike. Robert snapped to Mike and shrugged his shoulder before following Jessica, like a good puppy to her room. His expectation was left to hung when Jessica explained what she had done. It wasn’t long before Mike lost interest in the TV show and switched off to go to bed. 2 pairs of ears were pressing through an inch slit of the open door, next to the master bedroom. Mike paced casually and entered the bedroom next door to hear a muffled scream of Sarah. He quickly closed the door behind and turned on the dim light. Pressure builds up around Suman. Officer Dantey digs up his criminal record. It turns out, there were 3 sexual harassment reports filed against him and then dropped, probably due to the victims being afraid by the Mehtras or paid off to keep quiet. Dantey then contacted some of those victims to find out more. His suspicion was correct, they either were threatened, paid off, or afraid of losing face. In one particular case, Suman’s secretary who had just joined their office was raped twice by Suman, in his room. With the CCTV footage, he threatened her into cooperating with him for the third time. The worst part is, Suman, considered them as willing partners since none of them proceeded with legal action. Hand-in-hand, the couples rounded the mansion, padding along the soft green grass which descends to a slope. Mike had parked his car underground. Once the garage door rolled up, Jessica and Roberts's eyes went wide open at the cars parked there. Mike’s car actually is the lowest profiled one. There was a Bentley, Austin Martin, a Ferrari, and a few Hummers that is used by the bodyguards. The cars didn’t surprise Sarah but the Harleys Davidsons and antique Royal Enfield parked at a corner magnetized her the most. “Your dad must be crazy about cars!!!” Jessica gasped with awe. “Yeah right!!! 10 minutes grew into 15. And then 30 and then 45– even after Sarah’s constant self-reminding curse, to not react to his touch. It only feeds his excitement. Leading the way, Sarah shuffled 2 paper bags in her hand while Mike carried 1, close to her back– like literally, following her butt sways and tiny jiggles. Until it stopped and he bumped into her. A beach buggy was waiting for them at the exit. Mike looked over his shoulder to Robert and Jessica, who were following them closely. “You guys need buggy?” being exhausted, they took the offer and sped to the beach house. 2 gone, 1 more left, that is Leo. Mike signaled Leo to not follow them, insisting on walking Sarah to the beach house. Strong sea breeze clings to their clothes, gently swaying palm trees. Hair strands flung wild, needing consistent attention. The vicinity grew colder and colder by second, shrinking Sarah a little as she tries to endure the temperature change. Mike wrapped her shoulder and pulled her closer to him “Are you sleepy?” he raised her hand to his lips, pressing gently. “No…” this is what he aimed for– slow walk, entertaining small talks with dimmed pathway light leading the way in perfect sequence.

At the end of the sandy beach, backing rocky mountain, there were 5 chalets raised high above raging tide with 4 strong, brick legs. The moon shines against the dark wooden building, giving it a little definition. Each chalet was about 25 feet away with 2 standing out, beaming brightly from within. On the stairs of the first one, Robert sat higher, tucking Jessica between his legs. Her head rested on his knees, facing the beach while Robert gently caressed her arm – chatting something. Noticing the other couple approaching them, Robert took out a beer from behind him and handed it to Mike. He too, sat on the staircase, next to Robert and pulled Sarah to sit in front of him, mimicking Jessica. They spend another few more hours like that, with their never-ending chitter-chatter. Flimsy pages of the newspaper rustled between Joseph’s fingers when a whirl caught his attention, procrastinating Donald Trump’s latest announcement. There she comes, climbing down the buggy with a smile brighter than the sun. The only agenda in their planner is to spend the day in the mansion, starting off with the PlayStation in Mike’s room. Sarah was unbeatable back in school but now she lost touch. After the third game, she was left with no choice but to sit on Mike’s lap to distract him.
